In episode 125 of the Desire To Trade Podcast, I interview Walter Peters. Walter is a full-time Forex swing trader as well as the author of the well-known trading book Naked Forex.
I have read the Naked Forex book, definitely recommend it for those who are looking to trade without indicators and better understand supply and demand.
Honestly I think Ref Wayne would bring your videos a lot of energy, trading experience, and wisdom of course! Forex is growing rapidly with forex. I think it would be awesome to get their perspective and styles of trading! What other forex books besides Naked Forex really impacted your trading career? (That would be a great video concept as well) S.O. to you man! Thanks for engaging with your supporters!!!
I used to think that trading on 1HR or 15 min chart is the best as the return is quicker but after being much more profitable trading on daily, I’d stick with daily chart any time
Well, you have to choose a broker very carefully... AND you pay more commissions so it's a bit tricky... and, of course you also have to deal with the (near) immediate psychological impact of being presented with feedback from your trading decision(s).
Enjoyed the interview.. alot of small tid bits of info. Saw his book on the shelf before didn't know who the author was. Listen to this interview I might now but his book. Thanks.
Did you buy it? If you did did you find the (editing) errors? Sorry about that... I got caught out cutting and pasting.... it says "buy" when it should say "sell" in one chapter...
Really enjoyed this interview. Learned a lot. Thanks Walter and Etienne. BTW I am a certified hypnotherapist and I have treated traders for a more positive mindset, so I really appreciated that part of the interview.
David - do you find that most traders seeking your help are usually more advanced? (As in, they have been trading for some time?) This is what I have found... I have found newbies are interested in strategies and experienced traders become concerned with mindset/psychology...
Shawn -- if you take this and expand it you literally have a tool that can serve you well for years. In fact, dare I say you will have an unfair advantage. I wonder how many people actually grasp this concept.
If you run a search for a market (e.g. "EUR/JPY") and "open position ratio" you will find these data... brokers such as Saxobank, OANDA and IG Markets offer these data...
28:27 "the markets are fairly correlated. you're better off trading complementary systems." is there proof? so better to trade only one forex pair than trade many forex pairs? then Walter gives examples: trend trading system and swing trading system. i don't think this pair of systems is complementary... 9:30 whats the diff btwn commission and profits?
Trading on the strong breakouts areas has a lot of opportunities and a low risk on your losing money. see the simple technique of *IQD Momentum strategy* in a real currency chart. by looking at the chart, you can understand the simplicity of this system by *Lukasz Wilhelm* . you can get connected to it's website by searching for strategy on google.
Which links? Post here and I can give them to you... if you want to search for "open position ratios" and any currency pair (e.g. "EUR/AUD") you are free to do yourself... and the IG Markets data will probably come up for you (updated every 10 minutes).... a little bit of internet sleuthing goes a long way!
Haha find a friend who absolutly stinks at trading and just counter trade his account with triple the leverage! Then u can split the profits with him and buy a nice house .
You'd be surprised at how consistently the retail crowd trades counter to the dominant trend. Search for "43 million forex trades" online and read that study. Mind-bending stuff...

Using the 5m is like gambling and using the 1d is like building a bridge. Man that's a good analogy 👌
Really enjoyed this interview. Learned a lot. Thanks Walter and Etienne. BTW I am a certified hypnotherapist and I have treated traders for a more positive mindset, so I really appreciated that part of the interview.
That's a very interesting topic, David! Thanks for the comment!
I use hypnosis and subliminal tracks daily, David
David - do you find that most traders seeking your help are usually more advanced? (As in, they have been trading for some time?) This is what I have found... I have found newbies are interested in strategies and experienced traders become concerned with mindset/psychology...

I follow this Man After reading his Book ......Naked forex .
if I may ask does he use both fundamental and technical analysis as he trades on longer time frames🧐 or it's doesn't matter?
I have found technical analysis to be more reliable than my interpretation of world events... but that's just me.
that was awesome!! really good..
Thanks Nick!
5 mins or 30 mins chat are all noises.great

When will the next book of Walter Peters come out?
I'm not too sure about that...
I have written 3 books since this interview, but I only offer them occasionally to my email list, Felipe.
Sounds like Walter wins so much he actually looks forward to losing.
Yes, that's what happens with higher-reward / lower-probability.
It gets easier (losing) when you know the wins are so large. Reminds me of the quote about war "Months of boredom punctuated by moments of terror"

You can go a long way by concentrating on this part of the interview, great job by Etienne on this interview.
