i'm watching this video and listening to the audio through these monitors right now. and yes, these are some damn good monitors for it's size and price
Im still a bit hesitant to click buy button... im kinda hopping for some BlackFriday or Christmas deals... as i need "second opinion" monitors alongside my adams... :S
Not using the software. You could use the physical buttons, but obviously you’re not going to get a personalised EQ profile. The calibration is stored on the monitors themselves though, so you could calibrate on a Mac or PC and then use with an iPad.
Do the power buttons depress to stay on? In other words, I'd like to connect these to a plug bar power them on, then just use the plug bar to turn them on and off. I use the plug bar for much of my studio. Would that work or would interrupting the power mean you then had to press the power button on each speaker again when turning on the plug bar each time. Did I ask that right? Thanks!
I think that the $560 price tag for a pair of the pros is too high, and if I had that much money to spend, I could purchase a fine pair of powered speakers that would handle bass frequencies as well as highs and mids.
In the manual it says "Do not stand or sit next to the microphone while the analysis are running", but do I leave my chair where it is during the measuring or do I move it?
I worried about the EXACT same thing. I ended up moving my chair out of the room to make it easier to move the stand that the ARC mic was attached to around.
Good question - on the speakers I believe as you don’t need to have the X-Monitor software running (or even have the monitors connected via USB) to use your calibrated EQ curve.
It's sad they didnt implement an internal codec/interface and allow USB audio input. My PC's built-in sound card isn't good enough to fully exploit these speakers so I wished there's digital interface.

Nice! Yep, crazy good sound considering their size.

As someone that doesn't have a lot desk space, these speakers are very intriguing to me.
They are surprisingly capable considering their size.
Wow, looks like they thought of every way to connect👍
very detailed review, thank you!!!
I love mine! Hope all is well with you!
Hey Lewin - you had the original models too, right? Your new studio is looking incredible btw.
@@TheGaragebandGuide yeah they sent me them a long time ago, still love them!
And thank you, yes, the new studio has been so much fun so far!
Using an iPad are you able to calibrate on that set up.
Great demo

Yes, once depressed you’ll be able to turn them on and off with the socket they are plugged into. It’s how I use them actually. Great question!
@@TheGaragebandGuide Thanks very much!

@@TheGaragebandGuide thanks! Do you think it would have made a difference for you? Or was it just for the convenience?
@@viktornoren4324 I don’t think it made much difference really.
Thank you for the review! Is the measured (or manually set) EQ curve stored directly in the monitor, or does it require X-Monitor app to be running?

I might sell my OG micros to get these
It’s worth noting that these don’t replace the original Micro Monitors - IK are still selling the original models alongside these.
Do you have a sub to test with?
I don’t I’m afraid.

Fixed now - thanks for the heads up. Links point here: www.ikmultimedia.com/products/iloudmmpro/
I badly need these... Sometimes I feel you read my mind, and you're work for the big brother.. Just kidding
I always thought that monitor was a screen. Silly me!
It is, except when it isn’t. 🤔
