WOW I have been over more than a year with this issue and thought I would have to buy new ones, I coudln't open mine since they are totally sealed. But just by blowing into the volume wheel fixed it completely! Thank you!
Same problem with my logitech G430 for the longest time and I just blew in the wheel cracks and it started working perfectly! With a huge grin on my face I yelled what is this sorcery and why haven't I tried this before!
i just blew into mine volume control and there is no uneven sound on the pads! hope it stays fixed xD I thought i had to do a fix but you just saved me! thanks m8!
Man, you're a genius! You saved my headset. I had a razer kraken pro v2 and it did this for a year and it got annoying as hell until you, our saviour showed up. You've helped many in need. You have my gratitude for sure
God bless you my good youtuber. I will pray for your success and fortune. I was about to destroy my headset today after suffering with it for 3 months constantly. But by the grace of god I finally stumbled upon your video. My headsets can't be opened so I just used deodorant spray on the volume wheel. And it worked! Again thank you soo much!!!
No way, just no way man. All I did was blowing into the volume wheel and it magically fixed it, no more mono/stereo issues, no more cutting off and on, I can't believe that actually worked, like holy shit.
thank you very much buddy, saved me a lot of money. It's been around one and half year i've been suffering from this problem . I used deodorant and it now works totally fine .

God bhai god!!! Damn you saved my efforts mate and also money in fixing my Siberia v2! +rep I don't know why I'm still writing this after this video too. But maybe for Siberia v2 users or similar ones. For Siberia v2: 1. Use a screwdriver (Flat head one ofc) to open the Volume Control. You don't need to open it completely but open a little bit. 2. Spray the deodorant into the Volume Wheel while moving the wheel forward-backward. 3. Let the deodorant liquid evaporate as we have to make a good amount of spray into it. (5 Minutes will be good). 4. Woah!!!
Haha thanks man, I'm glad it helped you out! Also thank you for the guide to help other Siberia V2 users out as well! Really helpful fix, I used WD 40 spray available in India at any hardware store (sometimes the deo fix doesn't work), now the volume wheel works like a charm! Thanks buddy!
Has the headset electronics any issues with wd40? Do u need to open it up or can u just spray it in while spinning the wheel? Because I would probably break my razer kraken pro v2 if I would open up the volume control.
OMG THIS IS A REALLY GOOD TUTORIAL !! seriously, it makes now two years i have those headphones and you helped me so much with my steelseries 9h!! greetings from france !
Oh my god, I wish I had googled how to fix this forever ago! My headphones have been giving me troubles and it was a pain to get it on the sweet spot where both sides played.. and then I was wondering if I should open it up or not, since there's no screws on mine.. until I watched until the end and saw the part about just blowing compressed air at the wheel without even opening it.. so I did that,. with my mouth, because I don't have a can of compressed air... while turning the wheel up and down.. and it fixed it! I thought it was a bad connection or something.. never expected it to simply be dust!
All's well that ends well! Do check out my IG in case this helped you out! I now help people out improving their entire LIVES not just their headsets lol instagram.com/Intellectual.Muscle
Bro same, i was playing with my razer kraken headphone volume knob to much and then my wheel came loose so i thought i broken it but all it was is dust and gunk building up in there, I used compressed air. SO glad i saw this vid.
Can't believe I fixed my Logitech G430 headset (which you can't even open its mixer without tearing it apart) by spraying deodorant from the outside. Thank you and greetings from Spain!
Nice! I was wondering if you can do that. I'm trying it your way first. I have some Turtle Beach and don't want to risk breaking something else in the process :P
Bro forget abt a 2 or 3 year device, you just helped me fix my 15 years old speakers. It still works very well btw. Didnt know all it needed was a bit of lubrication. Now both work fine thank god I found this video
Wow i have been folding paper putting in beside wheel .and hunting sweet spot for a year and i thought there has to be others out there maybe on UA-cam .low and behold here you are mine was as simple as slide a peace of paper under it like sanding no spray "cause i didn't have any"and it works .i didnt know what was wrong till you told me thanks your my best friend now.
**UPDATE I TRIED IT** YOU SIR ARE A GENIUS!! THANKYOU!!! :D I have a Cloud Alpha and have had 3 replacement cable sent by them for this exact issue. Going to try IPA with the old ones as soon as the new one arrives and check if it works! :)

Hey thanks!!! This tip revived my logitech PC speakers...the controller was all crackly and a quick WD-40 spray on the wheel solved it. Sprayed, moved it in the usual range and then waited 5min. It's now working wonders!
Hey Nova I'm glad this fix has worked for you! Thanks for the kind words and well wishes it still makes my day every day someone leaves a comment fr me here! Fixed! My precious G35 headset was losing sound on the right and the wheel made crackling sounds. The volume control cannot easily be split apart to expose the wheel so I carefully sprayed WD40 (one quick spray) in the exposed slot at the wheel, moved the wheel from max to min many times and then let it sit for a few minutes. Works like new!
Glad it worked out for you buddy, check out the channel and my IG for help in other areas of life including fitness, health and social skills! instagram.com/Intellectual.Muscle
Was having the exact same issue with my SteelSeries Arctis 5. Sprayed some of that contact cleaner inside and moved the volume wheel back and forth for 2-3 minutes. Issue is resolved. Thanks! :)
I used mustard oil on my Corsair HS50 and its back to norm again. It's a little difficult because the volume wheel is inside the headset but its doable. I used mustard oil on my mouse roller also previously. Thanks bro for the tutorial.
yo i was just thinking on buying the new headset and then i tried blowing into the volume control wheel and yea that really fixed it ty man, i never expected that dust would be behind this

Voice increased by 2x, Balance both ear drivers equal, Fucking made my day bro! Fixed my Logitech G430 like a charm, and I was cursing them. Deodorant worked for me! Thank a lot
I didn't have the cleaner and when you mentioned the thing about oxidation causing a short it gave me an idea. Maybe if I put some pressure on the wheel and turned it while applying pressure it would scrape through the oxidation... LOL it worked! I applied pressure and turned it back and forth maybe 10 times and bingo no more shorting out.
I've had my headset for 7 years now, about 3 years ago I started having this problem and have been putting off fixing it until now, since it's gotten so bad that I almost never have functional sound in both speakers. I'll comment again once I try this, but it looks promising so far. :)
Thank You , you saved my Gaming Headsets :) , they costed me fortune and now there fixed. and i really appreciate you for making this videos and helped me to fix mine and now they work like new , i had sort of similar problem with mine that volume controls wont work properly and while i was trying to turn volume up and all of sudden the volume would decrease and then i would have to play with volume control wheel for a bit to get the volume back . and i used your suggested option to use and now they are working like before. i truly Thank you for sharing your knowledge and making this video :) :

Thx mate, u saved my headset and my money! :D I had same problem with wheel, the sound changed, in one ear it was louder but in other it was changing and quiet than other. Awesome tutorial mate! :)
Awesome. It worked like charm. Did a bit damage to the case, but it's not a big deal, Actually could just spray the know without breaking it open. But it worked, thanks a million.
I'm glad it worked for you! I actually put in an annotation at the beginning of the video where I mentioned to skip till the end for a possible quick fix, I don't know whether you saw that on time or not!
Newuxtreme No I watched the whole video, but the thing is, I wasn't sure how the volume knob is constructed, so I went and opened it, although it appears wasn't necessary. Lesson learned.
so does this do anything for loose volume dial? i have a Razer TE (Tournament Edition) and I happened to break the volume dial - It has become very loose and i can infinitely scroll it. Any fix for that? PS: my volume dial is glued together so i cant open it.
Woah! So I've been dealing with my headphones going out and crackling for a while now and this is the first time I've found any kind of help. I used the Axe I had sitting around and it worked perfectly! Thanks so much.
Dude you saved my day and my turtle beach headphones that was easy and helpfull and also you saved me alot of money i was gonna buy new headphones. Thanks man thanks alot
Thanks for this. I was able to fix the crackling with a deodorant but was not able to fix the audio volume difference between left and right headphones. The good thing is that you can specify different volume levels in the operating system, so second issue is fixable at software level.
i have 2.1 speakers.it volume, bass knobs are gives scratchy sounds.i have solved my problem by ur video. i am used MY DEODORANT SPRAY instead of contact cleaner lubricant. now my speakers are working fine. thank you so much.
Thanks for pointing out, through the video and comments below, that the problem might be dirt on the contacts. I have Plantronics 308s, which the inline controls can't be opened, and since I don't have the cleaner, and don't feel good about spraying deodorant into the electronics, I found that applying a slight pressure to one side of the knob and spinning it works wonders. :D TLDR: pushing to one side while spinning the wheel helped. :)
Great fix. If it doesn’t work right away try putting your mouth over the hole make it air tight and blow hard like you are blowing a balloon up. That should help it too
Had this exact same problem on my Gamecom 777's. They worked perfectly for 5+ years until I started encountering the crackling last year. It got to the point 4 months ago where I can no longer find ANY working point along the wheel and gave up on them. I took apart the volume control to see if it was anything obvious, but it never occurred to me that I would be oxidation on the contact. I'm going to revisit fixing these up thanks to this video. I have a question for you. Are there any other suitable products for cleaning these other than the Radio Shack cleaner? In the video it sounds like you mention some other things but I can't quite make out what you are saying. Thanks.
Not at radio shack I actually gave you an alternative that you could probably use your Deo spray for the same. But obviously the radioshack cleaner and lubricant spray much better.
Newuxtreme Just got home and tried this with deodorant spray (Axe) and completely fixed the problem. Thanks a 1000 times over. Glad I could save my favorite headphones.
Wow that's fantastic bro, I'm glad I could help you out. But I learnt from the guy that I linked in my description. Clearly it's helped a LOT of people out.
i have a razer kraken tournament edition, and the volume knob on the headset doesn't stop when its at its highest/lowest volume, the volume itself works fine, but the knob doesnt stop
***** Yeah I also have the Siberia V2 and it sucks to pay a hundred and it brokes :D My problem was that: As I move the volume wheel the sound moves inbetween the left and right speakers without balance. Dude if you had the same problem and fixed it, please tell me a little more about how you managed to do this.
Bahadır Aksoy I took the slider apart like it doesn't really matter to me anymore, then got some cleaner into it. removed dust from wheel then (by just moving it and when I saw a lot of dirt I removed it by my hand) then put it back together and it seems to have fixed it for me.
Thank you man,its work,i cant believe simple method can save my kraken tournament edition!,i thought it permanent damage hahaha, once again ,THANK YOU! ,I used hand sanitizers because it dry fast.
Thanks bhai, btw in case you are into weightlifting and bodybuilding and stuff check out my other channel and my instagram at instagram.com/Intellectual.Muscle
Awesome video! I will definitely try this out! EDIT: 1 year later and I have to say that yes, I did try this out! Several times in fact, last time being about 15 minutes ago, I used deodorant before but just now I used WD-40 and both work just as well :) Thanks for this video
How can u fix a headset if the volume is in the headset? Like, behind the left headset? My headset has low volume on the right but correct volume on the left
Do you know how to fix a headset where the mute switch stopped working? For example when I try to mute myself so other gamers can't hear me, sound still comes out and they can hear me on the other end.
Hi, my right speaker sometimes stopped working and i had to put the jack in the mic input and wriggle it a bit for it to work again. Now i've fixed my right speaker with your video, but now my left speaker doesn't work any more D: Do you have any idea how to fix this?

I don't know why I'm still writing this after this video too. But maybe for Siberia v2 users or similar ones.
For Siberia v2:
4. Woah!!!

It works great with Alcool based screen cleaner, thanks for the tip ! you saved my Logitech G430 :D
So glad it worked out for you mate!
How did you open your volume control i have the same headset
This worked perfectly! Thank you for making this amazing vid. God bless you.
You helped me to resurrect my dead logitech =) Thank you Gentleman.
I have this problem with the razer nari ultimate
it fixed it u are a legend
Thanks alot! Saved my headphone's volume control wheel! :)
Used an aloevera cleanser spray instead though XD
Glad it worked out for you my dude!
Oh my friend you are really Angel. You saved my headphones. I was going to throw them in garbage. Thank you so much
Great fix. If it doesn’t work right away try putting your mouth over the hole make it air tight and blow hard like you are blowing a balloon up. That should help it too
Non powder deodorant works. Has to be the clear spray like old spice
Cheers from Brazil , god bless you for The tutorial
Just want to say thanks from the bottom of my heart :p
Mine doesn't have screws so I'm screwed :( (Steelseries Siberia V2)
Same problem here. Siberia V2
I managed to fix it, I simply sprayed the cleaner into it and moved it around until some dirt came out
***** Yeah I also have the Siberia V2 and it sucks to pay a hundred and it brokes :D My problem was that: As I move the volume wheel the sound moves inbetween the left and right speakers without balance.
Thanks man, I'll try this.
This incredibly amazing ... But I broke the wire inside the volume button which connects the headsets wires and plug wires ... What should I do ???
Thank you man,its work,i cant believe simple method can save my kraken tournament edition!,i thought it permanent damage hahaha, once again ,THANK YOU!

Simple but effective bro! Thank you very much
How can u fix a headset if the volume is in the headset? Like, behind the left headset? My headset has low volume on the right but correct volume on the left
just spray the volume control i did it with the razer nari ultimate
Bro can u make a video on volume control soldering. Because mine are teared apart. Need help😣😣😣😣
Instead of lubricant you can also use refined water (from RO). But there's always a chance of damage. Although it worked in my case. 😉
Now i've fixed my right speaker with your video, but now my left speaker doesn't work any more D:
Do you have any idea how to fix this?
