In the negotiations, Hamas outlined their demands for a permanent ceasefire, return of Palestinian prisoners for the exchange of Israeli hostages, and a complete withdrawal of forces. But few of its stated positions get reported accurately in the Western media.

Oh gees.The ceasefire is pretty clear in terms, 1. Free hostage 2. There will be no Hamas as part of the future of Palestinian society. Only reason Hamas is blocking this is because it wants to live another day. Its not because it cares about its people, its not for the betterment of Palestinians. Just recall, Hamas started this recent war, having planned for war for years, built tunnels for war, now it has what it wanted - war. It has led it people off the cliff by perhaps the stupidest act of the century. It has such pride, it can't return the hostages, which would end the war completely. Just recall, this week finally after so much denial, UN has acknowledged the acts of Hamas on Oct 7th, mutilation, sexual violence, gang rape.. 5 months later. Same thing will happen with UNWRA; documented teacher .. think about that, a teacher .. abducting and raping a girl. So how much more proof is required to say Hamas is not interested in peace, not interested in the Pal. people, it wants to perpetuate death and its dumb archaic cause; we will be back here in 5 year if Hamas had its way and the toll will be higher. You are naive if you think Hamas has anyone but its own interests in mind most of which are plain delusional. It really can't be tolerated anymore. You know, I think the current system of citizens being powerless to get any accountability because our governments are cowards, really should be updated so that citizens, maybe not individuals but some type of group of citizens, should be able to bring individuals up for charges at the ICC and states to the ICJ, or whatever. But there should be no veto, or it should not be permanent and there should be a mechanism for citizen initiated accusations. One thing has become clear, our governments don't care what we ask or want, they will act purely in their own interests for their own personal benefit. We have no power, the illusion is dead. We should refuse to accept this and demand an end. What's the point in pretending we live in democracies if we really don't. I think many people are filled with rage about what's going on and we should use that rage to free ourselves too. If we were free, we wouldn't have Biden in the way, we could do it because we are the majority.

The hardest part for me is that this struggle has been going on in my lifetime every day of my life yet my pier group has no idea of the struggle and are so brain washed by American media it’s like talking to the walls. My pier group thinks it’s thousands of miles away and it has no effect on them. It has everything to do with us. I wish I could make a breakthrough with friends who don’t understand my grief.

Israel did not respond for several hours and when they finally did they killed Hamas and the hostages as well as 1200 of their own citizens. They then blamed Hamas so they could go into gaza and wipe out the Palestinian population and steal gaza's natural gas and oil reserves. I have tried to listen to all arguments and stances on both sides of this conflict. What results, is an overwhelming body of evidence (and expert opinion) on the injustice towards the palestinian people- In the first instance by the English (1948) and following that, by israelis and the USA. According to international law people have a right to resist an illegal occupying force, therefore calling the democratically elected Hamas government (-who Israel supported, not even as far back as 2019-) a terrorist organisation, is tactic to undermine any proper negotiations for peace and reconciliation.
On the balance of evidence, it is the israelis and their protectors (the USA) that are in the wrong. Israel and the USA have lost any credibility they might have once had in the world due to the actions of their governments.
To be a politician, all you need to do, is swear an oath of loyalty to the lobbyist and donors, support Israel without question and have total contempt for the people
