I smile whenever I recall Joyce Meyers prayer story about her grandchild praying for her stomach ache. “JESUS, Mommy, belly, ouchy. Amen.” - and she was healed! We put so much pomp and pageantry into public (and private/personal) prayer that I can imagine JESUS saying “Hey, I’m right here, in front of you...” Thees, Thous, structure, routine, recitation... if we spoke to our Dads or friends like that they would think we were weird. Some of my “best” prayers were unscripted from the heart. pray to PAPA. He knows everything but still wants to hear from and talk to you too.
