Nice looking blower especially for how old it is. That back pad and the straps look really comfortable, that is one area that Stihl should focus more on; I have a BR800 and have used their backpack blowers for over 30 years. The backpack blower is the one piece of equipment that I don't winterize/summerize. Like you said, you can use it on light snow falls all winter long. If there happens to be someone else around when you shut the blower off, like the Garage Gal, you can have them pull start the blower while it is still on your back, but otherwise yeah, taking it off and on to start is a hassle and maybe I'm just old, but I'm not personally sold on the models that you can pull start by yourself while they are on your back.
Please forgive. Today I got my 1 year old 770T out to do a couple of leave jobs. It had been sitting for a couple of months. I had drained the gasoline. Filled it up with ethanol free 93; echos best oil. 2 pulls and it’s running. Never smoked even starting. Ok? Point? Even when blowing a decent amount of went leaves. 75% of maximum power gets the job done. Sad thing is; it does use a considerable amount of fuel. I’m sure a lot less than the 9010. Still, it’s a lower that you can really like. The engine sounds so nice at about 60% power. Right when it’s in the power band that it’s going but, not sounding like it working really hard. Ok! I like things like this. Always have.
Great video! I bought a 770-T almost a year ago. Amazing blower! Has the easiest pull start. It is a bit heavy putting on and taking off your back. It does use a bit of fuel. I bought echos fuel to store it with. It is pretty good at blowing snow off things. But, the most fun thing about it? What mowerhead doesn’t love the sound it makes idling? That beautiful 2-cycle rattle! If you run it on echos fuel you never see any smoke. So, it’s very clean running. Anyway, gasoline forever. Batteries never!
I picked up the 580 model over seven years ago and it’s still running like new. I use the Red Armor mix on all of my Echo equipment. I also use a Ryobi battery blower for some of my smaller blowing job due to the weight of the backpack design. When leaves start falling, there is not a better choice.
@@darrencucinella7815 hey Darren I heard the echo red armor really cleans up the piston well too. I would like to get a scope in there to check it out!

I have owned this unit for 3 seasons. Mine DOES have that "X" label on it. I don't use it all that often as I have smaller Stihl units (BG 86 and BG 85) for weekly grass blowing. I mostly use this in the spring and fall for big clean ups. I would agree its is a great unit that packs a big punch! You are correct in that in goes through gas very quickly, and is the reason I bought a 2 1/2 gallon mixed gas can. Starting it is super easy and it just plain works! I am a big fan and buying nice tools that last forever rather than the cheaper, somewhat disposable units that don't last that many seasons.
