Since no one else did, I looked it up. It's the Pyloric Caeca. A digestive organ, though the actual function of it is a mystery. No one seems to know exactly what it does. Here is the most confident definition I found. The pyloric caeca increase the overall intestinal absorptive surface area, and thus the absorption efficiency of nutrients of the gastrointestinal tract. Exciting huh?

Being born and raised here in SE Florida we grew up fishing and camping mostly in the 10,000 Islands out of Flamingo, Chokoloskee and the Keys then later on in the Atlantic. Great memories and I know Gabes two boys will remember these days fondly. The one thing I never did growing up was go hunting. I would have love to have done that. Thankfully my son is hunting now and teaching his young kids. He just bought his first boat an older Mako 21.1. S I happy for him and ad he is carrying on that family tradition along with a new one of hunting.

One of my most memorable nights fishing was with some Cuban guys out of Marathon, we filled the chest with yellow tails! You should have seen everyone jumping up the ladder and out of the pit when a shark pulled the handline spool out of my hands and was skittering around in the boat! Nobody wanted that line to get around their leg and pull them over!

What a variety on this trip. Great job on the Black Grouper Kelly. Hey, that fish part I think is pyloric caeca maybe. Its a part that helps pull more nutrients from the foods the fish eat. Very interesting though, cause I have only seen this part a few times and its not as, fingery looking I guess or squidy?? Ya, I had a uncle and this one friend that fished the gulf often and we kind of did what you did when I could be around them after they come in. Great video.
Kelly, if you like watermelon, try to find some FL grown melons. With how dry of a year we had, all the melons grown near Lake O are absolutely delicious. When growing, if they get too much water they just get watery but not sweet. With the drought, I'm sure the farmers gave them perfect water amounts and they are so freakin sweet this year.

That is the Pyloric Caeca of the fish it is an appendage that secrete enzymes and provide additional digestive areas to the intestine.
It’s pretty odd looking. Kinda like cooked ray meat.

The water looks so refreshing I'm in palm springs and it's 118 degrees here today humidity is at 67percent ouch but going tuna fishing this weekend in Mexico when you'll say yellow tail I think of ours here that get up to 95lbs lol

@@stevetautog880 LMAO Steve, chum from the of the boat means blowing chunks,puke. The ocean gets very "wavy" in that video and people get sea sick in that kinda environment. Kelly, I am sure has seen it many times.

Hey kelly, a little tip to catch the speedos use 6 to 8 lb test anything more they see it and dont eat as well. Also a very small panfish hook to. You can use this trick on ballyhoo and they will be alive all day in your live well. Small chunk half the size of your nail works great.
Blue Gabe I know the dinosaur struggle my 3-year-old is obsessed as well knows them by name and species and if you pronounce them wrong he will correct you got to love it
