The first few questions were like "Kris. What is the color of your shirt? Sean. What is the square root of 425 million?"
first few - more like 99%!
first few - more like 99%!
Sean got gyped to be sure!
Sean should definitely sue.😂
Ah, but everyone knows Sean knows his square roots! He'd be like "20615.5281281" and Kris and Ellie would stare at him agog. Agog, i say!
"Sean, what is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?"
"Chris, what species is Spock?"
🤣🤣🤣
Is that an African or European Swallow?
Yes!!!
@@LuciousDeMorteVulcan.
@@shadmiller7282 Partial credit
"Chris, what was Morn's character inspired by?"
"Sean, what was the final bar tab of Morn?"
I would have said Kirk commanded 3 Enterprise, the original, the A and for about 5 seconds the B when Harriman gave him the bridge....I'm a nerd
I thought exactly the same, and by the look of Sean’s face he was thinking about challenging it 😅
@@J65on I said three, but I was counting the ISS Enterprise.
I said 3.
The original
The A
And the A after it was rebuilt at the end of the voyage home
Or one _might_ say 3 _Enterprises_ as in 1) TOS _Enterprise_ 2) TMP _Enterprise_ refit (which is "an almost totally new Enterprise," according to Decker), and 3) _Enterprise_ 1701-A. 😏
@@CJ-Wolf TMP-Search for Spock was the original Enterprise. It didn't become the "A" with the refit.
I would argue that 749 Mark 148 for Talos IV is a course bearing rather than a set of coordinates!
That's what I thought too. Planets move (everything does) how can Talos 4 have coordinates.
That was my thoughts too.
That's what I said! That's a bearing, not coordinates. Coordinates would need 3 points of reference, for one thing.
If it's a bearing as others suggest, then the Enterprise would have had to do 2x spins on the spot (360 plus 360 for 720) plus another 29 degrees for the 749, of course it also isn't a spatial co-ordinate either as you need the X Y and Z on a star chart to locate it...
@@twocvbloke Yeah, Trek has done that quite a few times. Oddly enough, it's usually the first figure that's over 360°!
Definitely a wide disparity of difficulty. Sean, you were shafted... 😂
Unpopular opinion, but ok.
I agree.
I knew every Chris question 🙋♂️ And I’m not a genius. But Sean questions WTF 😂
They did my boy Sean nasty in this one. TIME TO STORM TREK CULTURE TOWERS!!!!
Next time... Ask the questions and let the contestants write down the answers. And see afterward who has more answers right. THEN we'll see who knows more about Trek! ;)
More of this please 🙏
Also, the lopsided difficulty in Kris’ favor here is absurd lol
I don’t know what you’re talking about.
@@kristhompsonfilm
Wink! 😉
Sean definitely had tougher questions
for sure
@@kleethepimpno he didn’t
Seán had the fitting questions for his mastermind 😊
I am so in awe that Sean could answer 5 of that 15 questions.
I love the fairness of this competition!
That's what I wanted it to be. Straight down the line, no underhanded tactics just the pure spirit of competing on an intellectual level beyond ego and jealousy.
This was gas! Good man yourself Sean for the solid effort in spite of the “fair and balanced” quiz 😂 nice one Ellie
Booby Trap on TNG had the holodeck simulating an office on Utopia Planitia. Also, Sisko was the First Officer of the Saratoga. Defiant was his first starship command.
While the Saratoga was the earliest ship we saw him on, the odds that it was his first posting are slim.
@@QBCPerdition in fact, he was on the Okinawa before Saratoga and the Livingston before that
That was hysterical. I wouldn't have got all the questions Kris was able to answer. I'm amazed Sean could answer any of his. Great stuff.
Sometimes, the only way to defeat the boss is by using cheat codes.
I don't want to tell you how many times this video has played out in my living room.
Kris: Please say your name.
Sean: Please give your answer to the precision of five significant figures.
To quote Stan Lee (I think), "Every [video] is someone's first video."
2:19 Um, actually, the answer is 3. USS Enterprise, USS Enterprise-A and the ISS Enterprise (though, only briefly).
6:28 Um, actually, those are not coordinates. That's a heading.
And a pretty silly heading too. Let's spin around twice then set off.
@andrewmorris9946 if you're dizzy, the Talosians can't invade your mind...
To get his revenge at Ellie, Sean should ask her super difficult questions about Janeway
Trip's full name is Charles Preston Tucker lll
Kris, mass famous by Patrick Stewart, who played Jean Luc Picard in TNG?
Sean, who was the casting asssistant for the third episode of the fifth season of the fourth star trek show?
That was cruel and unusual. But very entertaining.
That was great, please do it more often 🙂 BTW Sean's questions were HEAPS harder!
I love how much Sean got screwed with impossible questions.
This was the best TrekCulture episode yet. I particularly liked the way Kris easily handled all the harder questions without any whining (not making a specific accusation here, but draw your own conclusion). Also, as a resident of The Bronx, NYC, Kris deserves extra credit for his fine fashion sense, sporting a NY Yankees hat. To "balance the terms of their next engagement," perhaps Sean's questions should be formatted in multiple choice or true and false formats.
James T Kirk commanded 3 enterprises. NCC 1701, NCC1701A and NCC1701 Mirror Universe (albeit briefly)
Four... He briefly took the Conn of the B but gave it back to Harriman
@@Trek001yay! Someone else who agrees with me! 4! There were FOUR. SHIPS! 😂
and the NCC 1701B in Generations (albeit briefly)
This was BRILLIANT!
Love, love, LOVE this channel!! ❤
Oh, Ellie, the question and answer session for Doctor Who is gonna be lit. ;)
I would've said the first time we the audience see Utopia Planitia Shipyards is when Geordi recreates Drafting Room 5 with it's big window in the episode Booby Trap; or is that a semantic because its a sim and Relativity wasn't lol
Seán, we both know who the REAL expert is, and that is YOU, my friend. The powers-that-be had to make Kris look good. Keep up the great content!
Great response on that last question. I’m genuinely blown away by the quality of the reviews that particularly feature sets not yet officially released, and the vlogs are super insightful. Time compression without sacrificing quality is a difficult line to walk. And I think you do a great job.
And if I lived closer I’d love to build these sets for you. I’ve yet to build a UCS set and I’d jump at the chance 😂
Y'know, I had a really rotten day in a couple of weeks of rotten days. Was feeling pretty down. But this actually made me smile today. Thanks, brilliant note to head off to sleep on.
I love this new format for a video! Do more! Make more! I love this. ❤
On the one hand I am thoroughly amused about how Sean keeps getting stumped with the Collegiate level questions while Kris gets kiddie questions. On the other hand, the unbalanced difficulty is also infuriating.
I know who you all are...
I recognize, and appreciate, all three of your cultured folks.
(Though in the past I suspect I may have spelled Kris's name wrong - apologies.)
As always, thank you so very much all for the videos.
And Seán don't feel bad; I've been a Trek fan since the series first aired, and have given birth to three Trek fans, (different shows,) (still waiting to see how the grands feel,) and I'm terrible at ST Trivia. (And it did seem, possibly, a little "rigged".)
Someone softballed the manager questions, lol.
I think Sean's questions were harder. there was no balance here at all. I knew all of Chris's answers and I got the exact success rate as Sean. I didn't even realize Maddox was played by 2 different actors, I didn't even know the name of the original TNG actor.
Not what I expected from the title, but fun!
i sense a difference of difficulty here for the constants. ah Sen has noticed now. Gillian Taylor is a Doctor, so, if that answer on the paper is wrong, how many others are? who put together these questions?
Sean got the harder questions. But loved this. Need more. There has got to be bloopers filming this.
i agree Kris was defienately getting all the easy questions
I thought Sisko first served on the USS Livingston? Also, he was only first officer on the Saratoga before it was destroyed... So, what was the question actually asking?!?
a Video i diden't know i needed. Multiple of the TrekCulture crew in the same room, is a big deal!
there is a huge disparity between the level of difficulty for sean and kris. this was not a fair competition
At the moment I get displayed the wrong thumbnail for this video. It is one about the length of an akira class ship.
It's just great to see all of you in the same room
Yea they totally did Sean dirty on this one! I feel like they wrote the questions for each other...
Arguably, the Borg were introduced in “The Neutral Zone”
good going everyone! Tough trivia.
Poor Seán! 😂
Quiz is fun. MORE PLASE! But next time, do it fair or let Seán ask Ellie questions 😅
Siskos first mentioned canon ship in as the USS Livingston. Then the Okinawa with Leyton.
Sean. Never give up. Never surrender!
Well done Kris, it's clear you have a much better understanding of star trek
Mike and Rich will love this.
I felt bad for Sean as it was obvious from the beginning he got the hardball questions and Kris got the softball ones.
So, I wonder, are Kris and Ellie in a relationship?
While we SEE the borg in QWho, wouldn't it TECHNICALLY be The Neutral Zone, the final episode of Season One? They are alluded to and they were technically supposed to make a full appearance in that one.
This is reminiscent of Beat the Geeks where Sean is the Trek Geek.
Chris, how do you spell Picard?
Sean, how much troy weight standing in the romulan capital?
Captain Ferrick, I'm sensing a powerful deceptive force from this quiz! Sensors confirm difficulty of questions is skewed by a factor of 1000! Source cannot be determined due to signal interference. Recommend high degree of caution at rematch!
Good stuff, thanks.
I agree Sean. Your questions were definitely harder.
Sisko was not in command of the Saratoga (he was First Officer), and served on the Okinawa before that, and with Curzon on the Livingstone before that.
Sean, you've been had.
When the contestants are your boss and your sort of boss
Seems the real way to make it fair is to give both the same questions somehow.
It'd take some great editing to make that look good.
Title should have been: throwing the quiz against Sean.
6:30 I haven't seen the episode, but that may not be an accurate answer. That's either the bearing or course the ship would be on to get there. It's the number of degrees between the current ship's direction and the center of the galaxy for the first number and the top for the second number. Also, I haven't seen 7:43 actually be defined in official media.
Off topic but thought everyone should know that as of right now season 5 episode 7 of discovery (next weeks episode) dropped randomly today (at least in Canada). Who knows when they’ll notice and take it down
"what is jean-luc picard's son's name?" trick question, he's got anywhere between 2 and 4 kids, 6 if you count his kids in the inner light
Whoever that girl was in the beginning, she did a really good job.
"Kris; what is the name of Jack Crusher's mother? Sean; name all of Jean-Luc's girlfriends mentioned within the series." (With a nod to Miranda Vigo and her son Jason who *still* happens to be carrying Picard DNA around)
I think they should have been questioned seperately the same 30 questions and winner is accuracy + time it took to answer (if both got it correct).
Love the Friend of Dax shirt! 🌈
60's era teen Kurt Russell would have been a great teen Kirk if they had done FBs. There's a lot of backstory hinted at that that would have been great to show & Russell would have been the perfect age for it & was doing TV then anyway.
Anybody got a link to Sean's Jadzia Dax Trans Flag shirt? I wanna get one for my daughter!
I would have asked for clarity on the WARP 9.9 question.... Because those parameters have changed over the course of canon
1701 is my employee number for my time clock.
Yeah, we know who you are Ellie, we just want to hear you introduce yourself. 🙂
Siskos first ship was the okinawa under captain then admiral leighton
Chris, what is the shape of the saucer section of the Enterprise?
Which one?
All...
Sean, name all the names of the souls lost at the battle of Wolf359.
On which ship?
All...
I see no disparity here! - Ellie
Would like to see this for real with a buzzer and the same questions for both
The first glimpse of Utopia Planetia was during the TNG episode "Parallels" where we see footage from the Argus Array that has been reprogrammed to spy on Federation facilities by the Cardassians.
And a case could be made for Geordi's holodeck programs of the Enterprise under construction at U.P. from episodes "Booby Trap" and "Galaxy's Child".
I knew the distance to Vulcan!
i hope ally is good at running. when the cam is off, its sprinting time :D
First showing of Utopia Planitia was in TNG "Booby Trap"
I believe the first appearance of the Utopia Planetia shipyard should have been TNG: Booby Trap, albeit a holodeck recreation.
Justice for Sean!
What happened to Tinman from season 3 episode 2 of TNG? Gomtoo escaped with Betazoid Tam Elbrun? After that episode it was never mentioned again.
They should both get the same questions and then do like Jeapordy write the answers down so they don't know what thier opponents answer is until they've completed theirs.
"He tasks me. He tasks me and I shall have him! I'll chase him 'round the moons of Nibia and 'round the Antares Maelstrom and 'round perdition's flames before I give him up!" - Who said this off camera? Kris or Seán? 😜🖖🏼
Kirk commanded 3 Enterprises, including the Enterprise B when its captain asked Kirk to take over
WAIT WAIT WAIT, we see drafting room 5 of utopia planitia fleet yard in TNG Booby Trap, and we see (parallel reality) long range reconnaissance of a galaxy class construction in a surface yard in TNG Parallels. I would file a contention.
Sean looks like he’s gonna drop a diss album at the beginning of this video
Wasn't Sisko on the Okinawa before the Saratoga?
Didnt Sisko serve on the Okinawa with Admiral Leyton as a young officer before going to the Saratoga? Technically that should be first.
Chris, what is the dominant color of a blue Jay?
Sean, Recite to the last digit....the VALUE OF PI!
I feel like Sean’s questions were harder
And this why yall should have kept Adam Clery (unless he did something problematic that we don't know about, if so disregard this comment) Sean, I would give you a trellium down for that performance, but that's too good. You get a Cardassian Vole Dung down. I'm so disappointed. When you return from your training with Alexander, we expect better.
That ship was not sisco's first ship ,he was only first Officer
