This might just win the prize for the best van shower design ever! I lived in a school bus for a year with my husband in 1971-72 (we had our first baby in said bus) and I would have loved to have such a shower. I learned to take a pretty thorough bath and head wash with a couple of gallons of water I heated up on the stove, though!
it is great
I've been thinking a lot about my ideal van layout. I like the shorter vans for ease of travel and parking, but I really want a shower and bathroom. It seems like the halo shower concept works really well.
Yeah, I really like the halo system. It’s a pretty ingenious design. If you can make the toilet work it’s an ideal set up
Halo shower and the dry flush toilet would be a must in my van layout. If I ever get a van.
Looked very convenient. Nice to clean up after hiking in warmer climates.
It really is!
I love that shower! The design gives you so much more space than a fixed shower!
Yeah, it is so nice. Love it! :)
Watching from America. Your problem will always be "water", therefore, upgrade the shower set-up by adding a "rain water collection system" and if you plan to use that rain water for consumption as well, then you'll just need water filters and uv lights to clean it. Final step to shower set-up is if you set-up a water-recycling system then it re-claims the water, just filter the water to clean it. Just a suggestion to stay off grid for longer periods of time.
great info
I think I would like a shower like that so I could have more room in the van.
Yeah, it opens up the space for sure. Thanks for watching and commenting. 🚍
I took Navy bath in a outdoor popup tent many times. Didn't need the shower (wasted too much water), just use a table top, a pan, and a scoop. Put the hot water pan on the table, wash the head first and let the water drip back to the pan, then reuse the water for the body. After washing, rinse the whole body with fresh water, done. Used only 2 gallons.
20 years in the Navy here....so I get that for sure.
I would put a mark on the shower on so you know we're the best temperature is and then you won't waste water finding the temperature.
That’s really great advice, I’ll definitely do that. Thanks for watching and commenting.
And you can hang a small mesh pouch to hold your towel and soap inside affixed on the folding frame 👌🛴🚚 happy van lifing brother wish I could do it sooner.🛴🚚
Who makes this . I like this idea
I’m impressed with the shower. I like that it “stows and goes”. I don’t want a “permanent shower”, because I’m all about saving space. Although it looks like it’s covered, I like that the mirror is right there. I really like that the water heater is powered by diesel. I would like to stay away from LPG as much as possible. I also like that you can store your toiletries in the cabinet once everything is put away. Cool shower! Being a future travel nurse from Texas, I’m really leaning toward getting a van RV, so I don’t have to worry about another vehicle to get to work.
Yeah, I think this is the perfect travel nurse type vehicle. It’s such a great set up. Thanks for watching and commenting on
Storyteller really nailed the shower in the 144. The shower/bathroom was one of the main reasons we eventually moved on from our
Revel to a more custom option. In our new van we opted for a shower off the back since we pretty much exclusively boondock in the west where that is an option. Our van builder has an option fairly similar to storyteller, but they have a removable shower pan that you take out when you want to take a shower inside the van. In a 144 it is hard to nail a shower, but if you need one the Storyteller IMO is definitely the best option.
Yeah, it is a really clever idea. Thanks for watching and commenting. 🚍
If I were a solo traveler, that shower/toilet combo would be great. My son will be traveling with me some, so it wouldn't work for the two of us.
The only thing I would change would be instead of the two screw-type things holding in the drop-down, I'd like spring action ones. Those screw ones seem a little hard to do.
Great video!!!
Yeah, I think it definitely works for a solo traveler but would be more difficult with two people if you need privacy for sure. I made the screw look harder than it was...i turned it the wrong way at the start.
Agree, the screw thing could be better with a easy release clip
if you find such spring loaded device, pls let us know.
amazing project. you have extra space. i always tought bathrooms are a waste of space to use only for shower.
it really is pretty awesome
That shower design makes sense now! When you did the show & tell at the Tampa RV show, I was wondering how on earth that thing worked. But wow - that's super compact & efficient. Next sticker idea -your head with the washcloth on top 😄
Ha ha! I like that idea. Thanks for watching and commenting, Mari.
😁🧼🚿
Well designed, thanks for the demonstration. I prefer the function and storage of the enclosed bathroom in the (my) Revel. Cheers from Denver👍
I get that for sure - definitely not for everyone.
There you go, walking backward toward the edge again. In flip flops.
haha...i actually mention you at the edge of a cliff in one of my future vids! ha~

@@MichaelWhite-mi4dk I know, right?!! 🤣
Honestly that shower seems like a PITA. You get the steam in the main cabin unlike the travato. Might as well do a shower tent with a Joolca or Roadshower, etc
I should have mentioned the fan is right by the shower. So you turn it on...no steam.
That is an awesome shower! Clever design! Jonnie made something like that in her build!
yeah, it's very similar to jonnie's build except her halo set up is stored in the floor
How is it an awesome shower?
I am glad this shower concept works for you. For me, I like the rear bath and Coachmen has been improving that design some. I prefer not having a bathroom next to or across from the kitchen, old fashioned I guess. Thanks for bring the content, it is fun to watch.
That’s a fair point for sure about the kitchen. Thank you for watching and commenting.
That was so cool! We love living full time in our truck camper but van life is something we always talk about doing one day. We love the shower setup. Thanks for sharing!
Yeah, it’s a cool setup.
Yep, I can see that design making it's way into few other vans. Works very well!
Yeah, it's a great design for sure.
I like the shower. The instant hot water must be very nice. All I have is cold or heat on the stove and bucket baths.
Yeah, the instant hot water is pretty nice.
Nice the shower space doesn't take up room, but I'm not sure I would want the hassle to set it up & take it down every time I want to take a shower. So I say there's plusses & minuses. But then again I like more convenience than you need. ha. Thanks!
Honestly, shower included the whole set up and take down (with shower) is less than 5 mins.
Thanks I picked up my Mode LT Friday. You took the mystery out of it. Enjoyed the video
Congrats!!!!
I love the shower setup. It allows more of an open feeling in the van. Thanks for demonstrating.
Yeah, that's why I love it - keeps the van open. Thanks for watching and commenting. 🚍
I like that it keeps the van open. I would probably use the outdoor shower while boondocking and people not around.
Yeah, for sure. That is what I did most of the time.
Sharon from Vermont. Excited to learn more about this van.
Van Tour comes out tomorrow.
Awesome, awesome 💯, Happy Trails 🙏👍
Thanks 👍
Watched from Lewiston, Idaho.
Liked how easy setup of shower was.
Yeah, it really is such an easy setup. Thanks for watching and commenting. 🚍
I like the clever folding part of the curtain. Seems quite doable to me. These videos give me lots of ideas for when we are going to build our own probably cargo trailer set up. Thanks.
Yeah, that van definitely has some great ideas for builds. Thanks for watching and commenting. 🚍
You’re so funny with that towel on top of your head . Thanks for sharing I will definitely make mine build the same idea.
haha....had to put it somewhere. Thanks for watching and commenting. 🚍
Hi from Florida, cool shower.
Hi!
Coolest shower setup Ive seen by FAR!! Love how easily it packs away, and they you have hot water instantly!! Beautiful rig overall!!
Yeah, it really is pretty awesome.
I was in the Navy as well and I hated the showers on board the ship.
This shower definitely helps save space but it seems like a lot of work and very inconvenient to have to do on a regular basis.
Thanks for sharing this, there are some factors that I may not have considered if I hadn't seen your video.
No problem!
Thank you for the suggestion on the beginning of the video if we wanted to skip no one really does that thank you so much I didn't skip I like your video I enjoyed your content thank you so much
No problem.
Great idea and well demonstrated. This is going on the refit plan. Quick close and open blockout curtains will be a must, but I can design those fairly easily. Didn't think I could fit a shower/toilet into the Sprinter, so YAY and thank you.
Glad it was helpful! Would love to see what you come up wiht.
The 30 days are almost over. Bummer, I wish you were doing this longer. We really enjoy learning about the STO. Thanks for your videos.
Yeah, it would’ve been nice to be able to keep it a little longer. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I love the shower design and the cassette toilet placement. Great use of space.
Yeah, it's genius! Thanks for watching and commenting. 🚍
I’m vacationing in Palm Springs for this video. Thanks for the shower demo.
Very cool. I love Palm Springs
I think I like this style best. I'd probably bring a couple extra jerry cans so i could take a little longer hot shower...lol.
Yeah, that’s a good idea. This van is set up to carry a couple of Jerry cans.
What a icky parking place!! I prefer the south with shade grass and trees!! 😀LOL ❤️ and ✝️🛐 s
Understand for sure
Cool!! Really neat concept!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Great location! Look at those views! Good idea putting your rag on your head... lol! The shower did seem pretty easy to put down and back up again. Fantastic and very convenient for sure! Thanks for sharing with us! Hope you have a great day Kevin! 😊
Yeah, it’s definitely a great design. I’ve really enjoyed it. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I just ordered my van and I'm going to do the same thing as you with the shower. it looks fantastic. Hecksal from las vegas.
Very cool! Congrats!
Awesome SHOWERR, thanks for inviting us along 🚿
Any time! Thanks for watching and commenting. 🚍
I definitely. Want a built in shower. Toilet room !!
Yeah, it opens the space up a lot.
Watching from chilly Western Maryland.
Thanks for watching Bill!
I'm sorry to say, I love the StoryTeller vans, but the shower/toilet system is why we passed on this van. I have a self built van with almost the same "halo" type of shower that I've used for 7 years at two days a week (for work), it is such an inconvenience, not to mention how my wife is not too fond of it when camping. I guess if its just once in a while it's OK, but I've probably took over 600 showers in mine.
I get that for sure.
Excellent video...greetings from OCEAN SHORES on the WASHINGTON COAST!!!
Nice! Ive been to Ocean Shores...love that area. Thanks for watching and commenting. 🚍
PERFECT SHOWER
I loved it
Well, first of all, thank you for sharing your experience with a compact shower for RV, it is fabulous, I am going to use it as a model for my camper van, but here in South America you cannot get that kit, so I am going to manufacture it. Then I'll tell you how it went😂😂👌🤙
That is awesome! I have a friend that manufactured her own. She has a youtube channel as well…it’s call Johnny’s Journey.
Pittsburgh, PA - love watching your videos. Counting on you for information when we pull the trigger on full time van life when I retire. Got to see and tour our first Storyteller at La Mesa RV in Sacramento after trip to Redwoods National Park. Appreciate all you share.
No problem. Glad you think I’m providing some useful stuff here. Thanks for watching and commenting
What a great idea, love it! Australia
Thanks so much! 😊
Love the shower set up. Wishing we had one in our van. Thanks for sharing. Paul & Magen
Yeah, it's a really cool set up. Thanks for watching guys.
I could totally do that shower.
Yeah, I really like it. Thanks for watching and commenting. 🚍
Nice ideas.
☺️🙏
I'm in Victoria on Vancouver Island, BC Canada in my full time RV currently in my mother's driveway as we are on Covid lockdown. I have a classic 1995 Roadtrek with my shower in the middle of the aisle. I actually love it too😊🚙🇨🇦
Very cool. I've been to Victoria a few times. I love it.
I think my ideal layout would be the K-series with the wardrobe section having doors above the bed that you access from outside the bathroom and some lower storage you access from outside. Then there wouldn’t be a need for a shower curtain. I don’t like not having an enclosed bathroom area because I would use my van to travel in cities. In that STO you would have to close all the curtains in the whole van to go pee.
Yeah, fair point for sure.
Shower looked doable-thanks for showing the funtioality
I really like it so far. Thanks for watching and commenting. 🚍
I am in the planning stage of my second van conversion based on DHL stepvan (mercedes sprinter chassis) I like to have a shower and a composting toilet. The toilet tech I got pretty much down but the shower is still on the drawing board in my head.
I build a composting toilet which has a urine diverter, an electric drill to stir under any solids and it also has a carbon filter (with a little pc fan) to ventilate the box and keep those inevitable smells off bay...
The toilet box is very much portable and has a hinged lid with a removable upholstered top so it can be used as an ottoman and a work surface pretty much anywhere I put it.
I like to do something like that for the shower as well: a portable box which contains all one would need to have a shower: a pan, a curtain, a stand and somewhere to put the soap and a wash cloth. I would not require a sprayer or plumbing since I already use (quite proficiently I must say) the bucket and cup style of showering.
The pan would simply be there to house all the stuff when not in use and prevent me from wetting the van or get mud on my feet and legs while I choose to use it outside...
Both the toilet and the shower boxes will store in the lower section of a chest of drawers.
The boxes can then be dragged out when needed.
Check out my video with Jonnie's Journey - she has a great shower build .
@@30AndAWakeUp Thank you, will do...

haha.....but im sure yours will be more popular!
@@30AndAWakeUp Yeah... Bev's was better!
Nothing beats a hot shower after a hike! Can’t hear the wind or see the rocking of the van. I’m in Southeastern PA. Mountains and seashore a breathe away.
Agree!!!! Thanks for watching and commenting. 🚍
I am so glad it worked out so well!! If I could do van life, I think I would go with the Storyteller. 😃
Yeah, I really like the Storyteller.
Lack of a shower stall and toilet that empties below decks, makes it a definitive no go.
Winnebago Revel is the choice for me.
I love the placement of the convection microwave, and the wool insulated walls.
the shower water does go to a grey tank but understand for sure if it's not for you. I wish the Revel had volta.
Hi Kevin, Great video. Watching from Ventura, CA.
Thanks, Karen!
I like the shower there is so much more open space putting it away. My wife and i are from SW Florida. We love your show.
Really appreciate you guys watching. Yeah, the reason I love this shower so much is because when you store it it opens up the space.
Love it. Have something similar in my popup camper.
Yeah, such a cool design.
Awesome video watching from work in fl. Wish I was living that life. Safe travels
Yeah, I feel really fortunate to get to live this life. Thanks for watching and commenting.
No sleep walking Kevin! Be careful!!! I like that shower and I'm thinking of going with a smaller rig. I've used the shower in my rig 3 times now and I've never been disappointed. I have a 30 ft. 2007 Sunseeker by Forester River. I used my shower in Denver when I didn't want to walk through the snow to the coin operated showers. Right now I'm by the Klamath River in California and I used it when I hiked to the beach (5 miles) and when I got back it was dark and started raining.
Very cool. Having a functional shower in your rig makes all the difference for sure. Thanks for watching and commenting. 🚍
Those temporary shut offs on the shower heads always keep a small trickle going so it won’t scald or burn when you turn the water back on. Love the new van!! Very nice set up sir.
Ha ha OK, that makes a lot of sense. Thanks for that info.
Came here to say this.
It’s also so that you don’t accidentally leave the shower pressurized by accident. The trickle forces you to shut the entire system down rather put it away with just a silly handle valve.
I'm from Wild Wonderful West Virginia and I find your video informative - the van life is a temptation I am warming up to it. I like how your honest and tell the bad with the good. Thanks for your service to our country.
Appreciate that. Thanks for watching.
@@30AndAWakeUp Honored.
This set up would work for me since it only takes space when is needed. I don't take showers every day.
Yeah, it really is perfect for a solo traveler.
I like the shower setup . . . Simple, east to use and stores out of the way . . .
Yeah, I really like it so far. Thanks for watching and commenting. 🚍
I like that shower!
Im digging it as well. Thanks for watching and commenting. 🚍
This gives me ideas for my conversion
Thank you Paula. It really is a great set up.
Watching from NC this morning. Nice tutorial and shower looks amazing! No place for soap or wash cloth to hang during the shower however you found a food spot for the cloth!
Ha ha! Yep found a great spot for the washcloth. Thanks for watching and commenting.
" I need to work up a sweat so I really need a shower". LOL! Great video. Most people just show their shower, they don't really take one and make sure they use soap! I bet people with little vans like the Toyota Sienna, with a roof rack could rig something up similar. Just hook it up to the roof rack down through a slightly open window, make a flat backing, the then attach a hoop or square top and velcro on slower curtain into a pet bath tub, then have a clear tube to drain it out the door when done. On the roof can be the solar black tube like Yakima with a shower head. You could sit on a portable stool, since you can't stand up in the Sienna.
Yeah, it really is a great design.
Hello' Kevin'' i am watching from Chiloquin Oregon. have fun .

You are proof (washcloth on your head) that necessity is the mother of invention! Great demonstration, safe travels!

FINALLY the shower review! Thanks for sharing Kev!
Hope you like it!
@@30AndAWakeUp YES! Easy to set up and put away...plenty of room and love that the hot water is available immediately...as a life long camper, i'm used to "military" showers and that wouldn't bother me a single bit! :-)

But whose shower video will get more views - yours or Paul’s? 😄 The shower seems great, a “pro” for sure. It’s brighter in there than I though (the van generally), maybe y’all are often filming at night or on cloudy days? Thanks for sharing the shower review. 💦
haha..Im sure Pauls! It's pretty open in the van so if light is out...it's bright
What an amazing area, so totally different from where I live in Eastern Canada. Great shower review. Safe travels!

Nice! Got to love those Navy showers!
Hello from Oklahoma. Love the shower. Actually has more room than others I’ve seen. Love your videos. I admire the way you embrace and enjoy your life. Safe travels.
Awww....thank you so much Priscilla.
Watching from Northern Vermont. I like the space savings offered by the Halo shower since I will be a weekend warrior with some 2 week trips. Likely pulling the trigger on a STO this summer after testing one out. I like the flex of the curtain instead of the small wet bath (I'm 6'4") of a revel. Not worried about the toilet. Keep up the great work Kevin.
Yeah, at 6’4 I think you’ll be right on the edge of the pump in your head.
I like how there is a note saying when shower scene starts 😂
No problem!
Love the look!!! Can't wait for your trip to Hawaii and see your videos!

Exactly its so awesome to shower inside your van. I Love your shower 👍
It really is! Thanks for watching and commenting. 🚍
Looks good to me. I’m glad you’re happy with it. Godspeed!
Thank you!
Like the concept of the shower. Being able to store the entire package in a small cabinet is pretty great. Unfortunately, I can't get on board with that toilet. Seems like it is better suited for a last option or emergency use only, which is fine, but kinda defeats the purpose of having a bathroom in your rig to start with. Great vid Kevin; thx for the early release.
Yeah, I get the toilet apprehension. It's kind of grown on me though.
From my perspective, the moment you choose the short wheelbase sprinter, your options become quite narrow and one cannot think of the bathroom as a full-time resource. If I were boondocking on BLM land, I would use the toilet outside in one of those outdoor tents (WolfWise 6.6FT Portable Pop Up Shower Privacy Tent Spacious Dressing Changing Room for Toilet Camping Biking Beach).
You get privacy, air, and space away from the van.
That is easier to setup than I imagined. However, a dedicated shower will fit our family needs. And I prefer the longer "Marriott" style shower over a Navy Shower. Thank you for the info and have a great day.
Yeah, I prefer very long showers as well. Maybe someday they’ll design a van shower that’s able to do that.
I’m a picky shower person and I could see myself actually being ok with this shower! Get liquid body wash for the little holder in the shower. Much easier than bar soap
Yeah, that's a good idea. Normally, I use body wash...not sure why I bought bar soap! Thanks for watching and commenting. 🚍
