That fall time fishing can be so good and aggressive you could tie on shaved arm hair on a hook and make it fish like a steamer and slay it! You did a great job explaining. Thank you sir!
I like to remove the treble hooks and replace them with one siwash barbless hook at the tail. I've blinded trout with the treble hooks 😢 I do lose some this way, but it's easier on their lips and jaws for catch and release fishing. It's OK if I lose them as long as I don't hurt'em.
Little one…… in my neck of the woods your lucky to get a 12” trout because of so much fishing pressure. Your blessed to have access to this!🙂
This is my most favorite lure i use the most. Rainbow color. Caught many different species with this. Bright green and white also. Black and brown i use for northern pike. Just a killer lure. Thank you for a great presentation today that brought back many good memories.
Heck yeah! Thanks for watching
Funny I was just looking at this lure this evening and almost bought one. I’ve never tried it! Perfect timing for this video! Ima def try one now!
You'll love it!
Trout fishing is fun I used to do it when I was younger and still do it today you have helped me open my eyes to other techniques and beats thank you
Thanks for watching!
Love the small Rappie floater and countdown. Catches alot of different species. Big ones and small ones.
Heck yeah!!
I got 15 of the Balsa wood one's never been used for fishing. New in box's I've been saying. This are my favorite trout lures. You have the best catch and release out of 90%of all on the Internet. Give you ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ on your fishing.
Rainbow color is always my go to for that early morning action, a classic favorite
Heck yeah!
I'll definitely grab 1 of those.. I'm just learning to catch river trout using lures and this looked really cool man..
Another lure I have used for years can’t go wrong with rap count downs
Heck yeah!
Thanks for explaining the secrets for using the countdown rapala.
very nice. used the single hook countdown with my son and he loves the hard strike on the fall. great job with the show once again
Thanks for watching!
I do well with these in lakes and deeper rivers glad to see it worked for you
Heck yeah!
That lure is killer! I just bought me some mini minners can’t wait to try them. Another awesome video!
Thanks!
Boy those were some nice fish. That lure looks like the key for the early morning.
Heck yeah! Thanks for watching
Countdowns are the only thing I've thrown at Trout for 30 years! With great success. From a little #5 to a Magnum #11!! Awesome for Giant Bows, Browns, and Bulls hear in Montana!!!
Love the Countdowns, I replaced the treble with single hooks
Heck yeah great idea
The Lake Erie steelheads are at the mouths of the rivers now, won't be long before they are in the streams just waiting for me with my Rapala lures I won... :-)
Heck yeah!
I've been using that same l lure for several years now and love it. I use the rainbow and brown trout colors to great success.
Oh yeah they are great! Thanks for watching
So they are cannibals? Do Trouts eat trout looking lures?
@@newleaf1534 they do in my experience. Those colors are the absolute best in my area
@@justinwatson380 oh awesome, so do u just reel it in slowly nonstop, tug and reel, whats your method?
@@newleaf1534 i use both methods but what seems to do the best for me is to cast up stream from the hole I'm targeting and use a slow retrieve as it drifts through. But of they chase and won't commit ill twitch and that usually sets them off lol
Gold and Black countdowns in #5 & #7 work well too
Good advice about the line test! I had a break off on what probably would have been my personal best trout early this summer, and I really don’t like the feeling of leaving that lure and line in that fish’s mouth. I’m sure he shook it eventually but it still ended up in the river. There’s no good outcome. Check your line, practice your knots, and leave the waters better than you found them!
Agreed 100% my friend!!
Heck yeah, rapalas are one of my favorites for those biggins!
Oh yeah!
One of my favorite go to baits when fishing early in the morning.
Great content as always 👍
Thanks!
I’ve been using rapalas only for the the last 5 years. Here in Wyoming they work great. It’s all about presentation. Casting it in the right spot so by the time it gets to where you believe the fish is, it appears as a natural bait fish.
Man those were some rambunctious rainbows! I've heard a few people talk about those countdowns, after seeing this I definitely have to add a couple to the arsenal 👍
Heck yeah you won't be disappointed
Awesome stuff man thanks for the video and you got that good commentary to go along. Appreciate it
What kind of knot do you tie on you Rapala's
Improved clinch knot
Awesome video man! Gonna have to try one of these soon! Tight lines!
Thanks for watching!
Single barbless hook on a jointed Rapala is a trout slayer! Browns and Rainbows up to 10 lbs so far!
Try the jointed blue and white one, it is madness sometime when i use it 😄
Great stuff brother, what size /weight would you recommend for 2-4 ft creek trout fishing .
Been using them for awhile on big native browns. Great video!
Heck yeah! Thanks
Thanks for this information on the rapala countdown, I was going back and forth on buying one and watched other video by rapala about it but you presented it perfectly to make me order one tonight I got the original rapala float minnow & ultra minnow through demonstration from other Anglers on how to work it... So thank alot for this video I really appreciate it... 🙏 ❤
Thanks for watching!
They slay trout trolling or casting. I like putting some scent on them
i really like how u said how long its been when u catch a fish
Brilliant film as usual buddy. Now, about those unclaimed prizes. I would be more than happy to help you out by taking them off your hands to save them cluttering up your desk. 😉
Heck yeah!
Yo this is my favorite trout lure. This one and the brown trout pattern. I've caught multiple 20 inch fish on them
Heck yeah that's awesome!
I have the floating original rapala. Will have to try the countdown which sinks. Great video once again.
Thanks!
That's a nice fishery right there!
Love using those small crankbaits!
Since the weather is changing and so is the water temperature, plus this means the fish are going to be biting better and maybe a little bit quicker too. In the fall, I most definitely like to use a 1/16 oz. Gold flame yo-zuri pins minnow, a 2/32 oz. dardevle fire tiger spoon and I'll even try a 1/16 oz. Black and green, black and orange or a black and blue feather jigs. They all work great for trout, crappy, perch, sunnies and bluegills, once in awhile I'll even catch smallmouth bass on them. Great video tight lines.
Heck yeah!
@@NRVOutdoors
You should give them a try, guarantee you will have a lot of luck with them
Have used the trusty Rapala for deep lake trolling with good success but haven't tried it much for stream fishing, but might have to give it a try.
Heck yeah man!
I’ve had good luck with the mini rapala floaters but never tried the countdown, will have to give her a try
Oh yeah!
Great video! Guess I need to make a run and pick one of those up to try. Heading up there Thursday for our anniversary and need all the help I can get lol
Heck yeah! Have fun and make some awesome memories!!
Agreed. Crushed it trout fishing in Colorado last year. Great lure, nice video.
Thanks!
Watching your video's I have tripled my arsenal of trout baits and lures....thanks again for all the info. Heading this week to do some fishing can't wait to share what NRV Bait killed it for us this time.
Heck yeah! Good luck and have fun out there!!
I caught my PB 25 inch brown trout on the CD3 in the rainbow trout color
Nice!
I prefer fishing to the rhythm of the whipper whill
Would like free tackle really amazed that they were bitting on such a large lure also would love to get one of those black creek bugs god bless keep making those videos
I've never tried the countdown....looks like I may need to give it a go.
Heck yeah!
Hey brotha great video. Went out and bought this lure after watching. Keep killing it!
I can’t wait to start fishing, I’m so pumped
Fall stocking is coming soon here in Western PA,,, HECK YEAH.
Heck yeah!
I killed this season with the floating version of the rainbow pattern.
Heck yeah!
Which one is the Floating version?
@@NRVOutdoors do you know which one is the Floating version?
Great video. Thanks for showing us how you fish with that.
Thanks for watching!
Can’t believe this lure slay the way it does
It's crazy good!
I'm new to spinning for trout, today I got my first brown on a CD3 so it gets my approval ,:-)
Nice!!
I've been wanting to try the rapala countdown for trout in the coal strip mines that we fish.
Love Rapalas, they are consistently good!
Heck yeah!
Another fun day of fishing 👍
Heck yeah
As always. Great video. I have not tried this lure before for trout. Gonna have to try it.
Heck yeah! Thanks for watching
I love those bait's all the time
Heck yeah!
I have a small rebel crawfish crankbait that works pretty well also!
Heck yeah they do!
Biggest trout I’ve ever caught on the Bow river have all been with CD 5’s and 7’s
What size rod are you using? If I held my ultralight rods tip up, like you hold your rod right before netting, my tip would break off, for sure.
Any tips for river fishing, the spinners don’t work well where I’m at. Wooly buggers work and hares. I’d love to see if the rapala work. I’m looking for bait that’s not live worms
The sinking version works great in rivers!
Nice! You running a swivel at all? What type of knot you using?
No swivel. I believe I was using a improved clinch knot (fisherman's knot)
I bought that lure and I’m not caught nothing . I have the sweble lure and it really works
Try a f7 floating Rapala.
Nice nice , gorgeous trout good job man ...clean video 👍💯💪🙏
I'll have to pick up a couple of these to try out here soon!
Heck yeah!
bought some in different colours, but no luck in New Zealand south island water. Maybe kiwi trouts don't recognize US lure?
Could be.. or maybe the count down is a little small for those behemoths!!
Great vid you have taught me tons about trout fishing.
Heck yeah! Thanks for watching
I haven’t fished for years and you got me back in. Trout were always my fave.
Great video! Have you ever used Brad's little wiggler or wiggler?
No I haven't
Love that reaction bite!
Me too!
Love your videos, what knot do you recommend on that lure? thanks!
Nice trout, would like to try the Rapala in the baitfish color for some creek bass, should work.
Oh yeah!
Great video THANKS! no one fishing but you only your car parked there, is it hard to get to fish this creek or is it booked up most times
They have a few slow days during the week
I'll keep an eye out!!
Thanks for watching!
great video im in i never tried the count down
I have NEVER used 8lb for trout. I think it’s too heavy and I’ve had success with 2,4 and 6 is my limit. Just loosen your drag and retie your knot when you land a tank. Plus with 8lb you can’t cast as far smaller lures. Also I’ve never seen anyone in all my years cast the way you do 😅 so peculiar but at least it’s effective!
What rod is that and can it work for the cd7 Rapala and can I pute spoons on it and is it good for 14 pound trout
Oh yes love you buddy you finally did it 😃🎉
Thanks for watching!!
Got one today caught my pb trout
What’s the difference between the “sinking” rapalas and the countdowns?
The countdown falls "1' per second" so you count down to your desired depth
I’ve always used 8 to 10lb unless I know I’m just gonna be getting Some small brookies or something along those lines
I used this lure yesterday and I caught a 10 pound bass
What line size you use for that fish ?
I need to find that spot lol
I love Rapalas!
Awsome as always one of my fav baits
Heck yeah!
As always another wonderful vid!!!
Thanks!
Heck Yeah.
Thanks for watching!
Do you think it would be a good pan fish bait?
Yeap!
I’m gonna have to try this lure.
Heck yeah!
thanks so much for the tips!
Thanks for watching!
Heck Yeah!!!
Thanks for watching!
Nice video brotha keep it up..
Will do!
Awesome video!
Thanks!
Quality vid. Subbed!
How coome people say flipping started with bass fishing 😅 I don't think that's it at all my great grandfather flipping technique in the 20's all the way to me and every trout fisherman. Funny it started with bass fisherman.
Great bait
Heck yeah
