Thank you very helpful, I was given a baby king snake and have no previous experience with snakes this was a awesome and easy set up video helped me Soo much!! ❤❤
Nah don't worry about that... The snake will simply move to the cool side, I don't believe they get to hot anyway probably around 90 degrees so the snake will be fine.
do you own one? If so how do you like it? I have been wanting one for years and hey they are native to America so not as expensive and super attractive patterns! :)
Brandon Sagert yeah I raised a Ball Python. I think the lady said that all these snakes are the same in that regard. You NEVER feed it in the tank it lives in or you will have a vicious guy in that tank. My friend did that with his snake and it went from docile to touchy touchy in just about a week,
***** Agreed. My King went a long time without eating as I tried moving him to a feeding tank every time. The stress was too much. I feed him in his habitat now, and he eats great. I try to present the mouse and stay out of the snakes view. I make sure he's taking it near the back of the tank while he's behind his hideout.
John Dayton ***** thanks for sharing your experiences, I appreciate it greatly and when I decide to get another snake I'll make sure to keep a note on this. Happy animals make happy pet owners. :)
my California King is roughly 4 months he has left me hold him once and when I have he would be calm and nuzzle me then bite. he has been neglected but idk what to do about calming him to show I'm not a threat.
Would a experience Terra 36x18x12 low tank be ample space for a Mexican black kingsnake and could you use habby chips for the bedding and what would the temperature be for the hot side and cold side aka what watt bolbs should I use
I just caught a Cali kingsnake in my back yard 5 days ago. The people at petsmart told me its about a year old based on pictures I showed them. Today was the first time I fed him and although he did get a bit scared at first, he took it like a champ and finished in no time. I am new at this! Any tips on getting him used to me?
Ok so my snake was starting to go out of it's hidding spot more often when i was in the room, but as soon as other people step in he hides. Only with me he is ok to be out on his tank. Then all of a sudden he hides all day again! Last time I hasn't seen him in 2 days! I was worried. But his water bowl goes down and he eats regularly on feeding day. Anyone know what changed?
Emma Broadbent but over what? My room is most of the time vacant and the temperature is just right. I don't move things around too much. But it seems like he is scared of me when I am inside? We are moving backwards:(
I dig that gold Dust is playing in the background
Jen is very knowledgeable and fearless.

what if the inside of your house is around 71-72 degrees cause your dad is cheap?
Doesn't matter the snake will be alright. Make sure a heat mat is on one side and the other is in the 70s.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
What about a thermostat for the heat mat? Better safe than sorry.. these mats can get well over the temp needed for a kingsnake i beleive

@@christianz344 this is wrong. My temp gun was ranging just over 110 degrees on the heat mat!
King snakes are actually very resilient snakes they can insure very cool temperatures for extended amounts of time with no problem.

They are the best just don't feed it in the tank that it lives in and handle it occasionally to keep it used to you touching it.

at leas it's a dry heat with you guys, here in Texas it gets above 105 and with high humidity. Feels like drowning and burning at the same time.
Where I live it is 47 degrees celcius

Do setup video for water dragon?
Look at that snake its so small 😍
What do you feed real small babies? are pinky mice too big for a new born brooks king?
Do you need to have a heat lamp as well in order to keep one side hotter?
Ben R If your home is very very cold, you may want to consider it.
+death kid no but it's better than sand and it's easier to barrow in
Ellie Goldberg, nice music choice
Dat thumbnail
We're do u get king snakes in Canada Langley thanks for sharing
Michael Morgenrood I'm buying one for a breeder
is the substrate used in this video good for all king snakes or just the California?
All
Mine prefers coconut fiber so I have Aspen on one side and coco fiber on the other
Can you keep multiple kingsnakes together in one huge glass cage?
Bangin Bz No they are called kingsnakes for a reason. They eat other snakes. If you keep them fed maybe? If it were my snakes I would not risk it.
Is there a breed of snakes that you can keep a couple together without them eating each other?
Bangin Bz
Hell no absolutely not. They eat other snakes and they are not social creatures in general.
garter snakes can be kept in communal tanks, just make sure they are similar sizes.
What do you mean using ice cubes to cool down the cage? How exactly do u do that?
Put them on the top to drip into the water bowl - helps cool the air in the enclosure. :)
O ok I didn't know that thanks =)
Oh and also, after they eat what happens to the mouse??? Do they spit out the remains or digested like people or does it just dissapear?
He poops it out..
Alejandra Reyes how stupid can people be?
Do you ship in the Philippines? suppplies here is quite hard to find and is expensive.
We can ship supplies, but no animals. Email us at L3Reptile@aol.com for a quote!
Could you do chameleon videos sometime?
How big cage does it need when fullgrown
20 gallon long
I recommend a 55 gallon. The snake will be 4 feet long so a 4 foot cage is best imo

It's not a good idea to keep wild ones as pets...
Yeah let him go, hell stress too much. If you want a snake go buy one, they're great pets

Alejandra Reyes sounds like he may be stressed.

DEAR JESUS PLEASE TELL MY PARENT’S THAT I COULD HAVE A PET REPTILE’S
do you need lighting for a california king snake?
Yes unless u house it warm most of the time but if it's cold just get a heatpad
what temp do they need
85-90 on one side. Heat mat will do that. Cold side 70-78 around there. Wouldn't go below 70
I held a few Californian kings Ames before I like them but my mom would just say NO WAY JOSE!!!
Can You check my "My 29 Gallon Vivarium" video I just uploaded? I am wanting some type of amphibian to place in it so I would love some suggestions.
Live ur account
She awlays look braten up..
you don't need a light
Gavin Turbak You are kind of correct, JossersJungle said that for her California Kingsnake she uses natural light, so is that what you mean?
H
Where i live is like 38 degrees uhmm and in winter is like max. 25 and min. 16, do i need that heat lamp too? i'm pretty bad with
of heat lamps....
Bonnie MK well, most likely your house isnt 38 degrees, so just a heatpad will do
