Bald Eagle group on Ceasar Creek SP lake kill.

On January 28, 2025, I had an incredible experience at Caesar Creek Ohio State Park. I spotted a family of eagles feasting on a kill on the frozen lake. There were five young eagles and one adult. A few days earlier, I had seen two adult eagles with three juveniles on the ice. so there are at least 7 eagles near the lake.
One of the most fascinating moments was when an adventurous Great Blue Heron approached the young eagles. It stood tall and unconcerned with these massive raptors.
Towards the end of the video, a young eagle showed off its hunting skills. It caught several chunks of ice and played with them in front of the others. It was either the most clueless eagle I’ve ever seen, thinking it was catching fish, or the most clever eagle I’ve ever seen, trying to trick the other eagles into leaving the kill so it could enjoy it all to itself.
I shot the video from a distance on the lake. I hope you enjoyed watching it as much as I enjoyed watching these amazing eagles.
