    I just bought those Wihas because they were on sale for $23. I will see if they can hold up to my work. I’m a Traffic Signal Installer.

    I dig KNIPEX tools. The grip, the feel and of course the usefulness! I have Klein and Channellock but I prefer KNIPEX cause of the sturdiness and great use I get from them! Good post!

    I really like these Knipex auto adjust pliers, they are really functional. A great video brother. 😊

    I've got all of those pliers and you'll find the auto grip cobras WILL jam and will get locked on a fastener over time even after oil and maintenance. At first they are great. But they will fail after some heavy use. My opinion just save your money on them. You'll end up going back to normal cobras anyway.

      Thanks for the heads up, hopefully I don’t have the same experience, if I do, I will certainly report back!

      Curious but what gets caught up in them? What kind of environment are you working in?

    • @rjskum688
      @rjskum688 Рік тому +1

      @@nachoisme the mechanism that springs the handles open is what jams. Nothing gets in it, it just lockes up on fasteners on occasions. You then have to knock them off. Also there is a pin that kinda holds the spring in place. That pin will fall out and render the tool useless. It's a brilliant idea and you still get great quality for the tool alone, it's just some work needs to be done on the spring. Or they need to lower the price til its figured out.

      @@nachoisme btw, I'm just a maintenance and grounds specialist. I do everything under the sun so these things seen all kinds of work. Trust me I bought them because I loved the idea. But if I can I wanna save people from spending almost 80 bucks on these.

      @@rjskum688 appreciate the response. I’m new in commercial electrician and these would be handy but if you were dragging them through the mud every day then maybe they would still work for me. Sounds like this will be a pass for now. Hopefully they update this in the future.

    Just bought second set of these. For medium duty use and ease these are the best I’ve found of this type, especially the ability to use one handed.
    Knipex refers to them as water-pump pliers.
    Only wish they came in different sizes.
    Great vid👍🏼

    I thank you for another great review and appreciate your contrast between them and the cobras.
    Also appreciate the hands on experience from RJ Skum and his input. 👍🏻

      Its Knipex with K. Its German. You don't omit K when a word starts with K.
      Not even a silent K. Its just another letter in the word, just the first letter.

    I like my 10" cobras. These, my boss broke his just using them regular. Putting a plug on sprinkler pipe.

      How old were those? Not trying to defend it, just seems that tooth design isn't really something as durable as the cobras

      @@mdexterc2894 not even old. The metal that make them close broke and they slide like nothing.

      @@betomendoza5981 ya, the auto grips have an issue with a pin that connects to a spring that allows the jaws to open up, it falls out. If you lose that the pliers are useless I loved them at first. Always kept them in my back pocket. They just aren't very tough or durable.

    Hey parklan aren't these basically a remake of the old craftsman robot grip. Or crescent newer z2 pliers?? With lever action . Of course these are much better I'm sure . With German engineering and all.

    • @ParklanCustom
      @ParklanCustom  Рік тому

      No, the mechanism is completely different then the robo grips, the crescents z2 are more similar than the robo grips, however the mechanism is still different. Knipex has a patent on the mechanism used on the smart grips and it’s a lot more robust.
