I've been following Mike Musto on and off for a few years now and he is exactly the host that Motor Trend has needed. I'm looking forward to seeing more from this series.
Don't have an Muscle Cars myself, but love and respect them Many modern cars are faster, stronger, and more reliable but dang, the sound of a big V8 rumbling down the street is so neat.
So glad to see Mike Musto join Motortrend! Big Muscle was one of my favorite shows on /DRIVE I've missed Mikes enthusiasm, straight-talk, and presentation style.
OH MY GOD! I can't even begin to say how damn exited that opening got me. finally an internet show where there really is no replacement for displacement. Thank you Motor Trend you have answered our prayers. I am eagerly awaiting the next instalment of House Of Muscle.
Its really too bad because you used to have a lot of car youtube channels competeing, now you have a few, and most of them are moving away from youtube!
Mike Musto and Jay Leno need to do a show together. The high pitched excited talking would be great! Glad to see Mike back! He had some of the best content i had ever seen. Really quality gentleman.
This is awesome!!!!! best idea. If you're gonna feature Retro Aussie muscle, I'd be happy to have my beautiful example of a '99 Holden HSV Clubsport 195i featured! It's one of the last Aussie V8s ever made before LS motors took over the HSV range! number 1620 of ~2000 examples. 304ci (5Ltr) V8, 195kw (261hp), 430nm of torque (though, mine has an exhaust system with a custom cold air intake, MSD ignition leads, etc. so I'm estimating around 280/290 ish HP). One day it'll be stroked to 355ci with a twin throttle body custom intake manifold, ported heads etc etc. Aiming for about 400whp :) Its my baby, I love it to death. To me, its a perfect combination of practicality, muscle and sportiness. I must say, I'm quite the import fan, and originally I wanted a Nissan 180SX Type X. I ended up with the complete opposite, and I regret nothing haha.
Show sounds and looks great, Leno invitee style. But you REALLY need to rethink the logo. Hold an online competition to design a new logo for merchandise or something. Good luck with the new series, I can't wait!
After watching this series premier video, the thing I liked about all Mike Musto's vehicles was the fact they are all look that they've been driven like normal, daily drivers. Very impressive!
GhostSpectre i know right? i daily my 1968 461 pontiac firebird across the entire country... and it aint no pussy ass 14 second turd either. damn thing was a daily in upstate new york, winter and all. and now is my tow truck...
Agreed. "too powerful, too fast" i mean not really. I love muscle cars for the styling and the sound, but you put £50k into an old muscle car and you'll be lucky if you go as fast as a £10k 1998 supra. I get it, you CAN make a muscle car fast, but not really any faster than any other car. When you get into high level modifications, it's PURELY about style, when it comes to choosing your platform, especially if you're not replacing the original panels, those big steel quarters are heavy.
you can pickup 800hp supras for under £10k over here. How many miles you'll get before the heads crack is another story completely, but the point stands. You can make plenty of power in any vehicle if you're willing to spend the money on it.
luckiest guy ever! most of my dream cars in one video, though i can't complain when my absolute dream car is sitting at home. this was a true pleasure to watch, thank you for a great show!
Yup. They make something really good and make it exclusive. I like how every defends them by saying "oh well in the real world it costs money to make these videos" but you don't see guys like Petrolicious becoming sellouts and they make arguably the best car videos.
NikoBell12, Petrolicious is run by a VERY wealthy couple and was never intended to make money. They lose money on every single film they make. For most other content creators, that really isn't a feasible option.
There are enough shows that don't publish nearly enough. Dirt every day is like dirt every 4 months. Hot rod garage is pretty non existent and the best seller road kill barely produces. Add in 10 minutes of commercials for motor trend on demand each episode and there is almost no content from a channel that has almost 5 million subs.
The 4 months thing was an over exaggeration. With the 4 or 5 shows they have there is really no reason that they couldn't have more content. This doesn't even take into account the shows they lock behind a pay wall in motor trend on demand which bleeds over into non MToD shows further cutting into time. Regardless of the host stating they don't have funding, they do. They have the parent company MT + Dodge + youtube + MToD + Netflix + all the other sponsors like cummins, continental, etc. In short, content is lacking.
You obviously don't understand how expensive and time-consuming it is to produce quality car content. If you want daily videos go watch some garbage vlog channel. I'll happily wait a month for quality episodes from all the shows on this channel.
+Walter so what. I'm from europe too. And as far as I know pretty much every single eu country has a USA car club wich is organazing meets where you will be able to see some awesome cars. 3rd gens are also quite cheap to buy here.
At the end of the video, the announcer says that it will "each new episode will premiere exclusively on Motor Trend on Demand". I take this to mean that it will be similar to Roadkill, in that it will premiere there first, then later be transitioned to UA-cam.
Always enjoy your no nonsense presentations on my favorite vehicles, American muscle. I completed my wife's 1977 TA. three years ago to complete stock and she enjoys it in the summer, after storing it for 23 years. The car is like bran new, only fit and finish is better. Thanks.
+Anukloses I'm fine with shows coming out on MTOD first. I keep hoping once the older shows become stale content on MTOD (maybe 6 months to a year old) that they will then air on UA-cam. That way they can make some money off us non-MTOD people. The main show I'm missing out on is Roadkill Garage as it has some of the Roadkill fleet on the show. Being on a really tight budget the only shows I see are right here on UA-cam. It may be only $5 a month, but that $60 a year could be a tank of fuel or another part to finish a project. It adds up when living cheap.
JeepCollector91 Dude im sorry but compared to every other subscription on the internet MTOD is cheaper. They are doing their best as a business they need to survive. Netflix starts at $8 a month MTOD is the best show for carheads that doesnt have that cringy drama that every other car show has.
+Anukloses I agree that it is cheaper than other subscription based services on the internet and I think it is a great deal. Just beyond my current budget. No Netflix for me either. I would rather pay for MTOD than Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime any day. Just can't afford any of them. So unless older episodes of Roadkill Garage eventually find their way to UA-cam, I'll just have to miss out.
also there are many shows that are very easy to find online for free, I have yet to find a good source for MTOD stuff, so that should be reason enough alone.
You've got some seriously badass cars there, but about that Trans Am; instead of doing yet another LS swap like everyone else does, why not keep it all Pontiac? A Holley-injected 400 or 455 would be a hell of a lot of fun.
I know, I had one (a '79). I was just wondering if there were Oldsmobile high performance parts still being made, stuff like forged pistons, cams, etc---I would think that stuff would be hard to find since there isn't much interest in anything Oldsmobile nowadays. But even an Olds 350 would be better than that pukey 301 lol
justsomeguytoyou I gotcha. I thought you meant parts to jyst make it fit. I think there parts available though. I used to work with a guy who bought a brand new, complete 403 putting out around 560hp (I think. I can't remember for sure) that he then stuck a 6-71 blower on and then was in the process of modifying an old Model T to put it in
Mike Musto was the only reason I was subscribed to /drive
soon as he started talking I recognized that voice
I've been following Mike Musto on and off for a few years now and he is exactly the host that Motor Trend has needed. I'm looking forward to seeing more from this series.
Welcome to Motor Trend, Mike. You have a hell of a collection and I'm lookin' forward to your show.
Keith Brettell I bet if his nephew can't wait till he dies lol
Welcome home Mike! watched your show quite a bit and am happy to see you with HR and the crews!
* raises hand *
"Is mayonnaise a muscle car?"

Awesome! Congrats Mike Musto!
Mike Musto is definitely an ambassador for American muscle cars. Loving this new segment!
Yes!! Musto is back and House of Muscle is free on UA-cam, I am stupid happy right now!!
WOOOO!!! Mike Musto!! Welcome to Motor Trend man!! Can't wait to see more!
Love his way of thinking
If you own it, enjoy it, take it out and drive it!
No point in having a trailer queen, just sitting everywhere.
Don't have an Muscle Cars myself, but love and respect them
Many modern cars are faster, stronger, and more reliable but dang, the sound of a big V8 rumbling down the street is so neat.
Dave Taylor Those ol' big V8s are extremely reliable
This is fantastic. Mike is knowledgable and even better he's reasonable. He's not trying to be something he's not and it's great
YES!!!!!
THANK YOU FOR THIS!!
😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲
Granddad's Monte, fantastic! Welcome back, Mike!! :-)))
Musto....! ;))) hell yeah...! So glad you left that drive mallarkey
Great to have you back Mike!
Former Big Muscle sub, so the Musto is back! Good to see, better to hear =)
So glad to see Mike Musto join Motortrend! Big Muscle was one of my favorite shows on /DRIVE I've missed Mikes enthusiasm, straight-talk, and presentation style.
Congrats on your new show Mike! I'm sure it'll be awesome like all your past work.
Finally you listened to me Motor Trend,,,MORE MUSTO!!!!
Been wondering where mike musto been can't wait for this series it looks very entertaining
HELL yeah! Loved Mike Musto's big muscle series. So glad he nabbed a show on Motor Trend.
I thought it was pimp my ride by the logo
Musto wants to be a player, but his wheels ain't fine.
he thinks hes a man, but hes a pedal short of that line
Matt I thought it said "Mouse of Muscle"
Matt same
CJ P, Matt different.
Mike Musto muscles his way around in American muscle cars. He was made for this, I'm glad he's doing that.
Motortrend, you've done a very smart choice by picking up mike musto from /Drive.
OH God. It's like dream come true. I wished for more shows from Mike Musto!
Mike! Mike! Mike!
I'm glad Mike Musto is back!
"They are too fast" - shows a shot of the Pontiac Trans Am - hahaha
My 74 Trans Am had no trouble doing 145mph -- and that was not the top speed. That was as fast as I was willing to push the tires.
RoboticGladiator
Yah.. stock - how long did it take to get there? Honestly.
Not very long at all.
Bunka Fas most old muscle cars have better 1/4 mile ets then a lot of newer cars
jdr ok
I'm talking about the trans am, not an actual muscle car
Musto, super glad you got this gig dude, you deserve it! Awesome first show!
OMG yes, mike musto!!!!! where he belongs!!
OH MY GOD! I can't even begin to say how damn exited that opening got me. finally an internet show where there really is no replacement for displacement. Thank you Motor Trend you have answered our prayers. I am eagerly awaiting the next instalment of House Of Muscle.
I can feel the vibration from the engine through my headphones
Thats how it should be! :)
Isaac Modawell funny how speaker do that eh
Great edition to the MT family, Mike is awesome.
/DRIVE really is dead then...
PeePee2000 drive is on NBC sports and Matt and Chris still present it. Drive's not dead, it's just not on UA-cam anymore
salmonline who's whining?
Its really too bad because you used to have a lot of car youtube channels competeing, now you have a few, and most of them are moving away from youtube!
RIP FLD :(
Mike Musto and Jay Leno need to do a show together. The high pitched excited talking would be great!
Glad to see Mike back! He had some of the best content i had ever seen. Really quality gentleman.
that's it, the drive network is officially dead.
Awesome to see Mike Musto back on a regular show. Really enjoyed your segments on Drive. I look forward to watching The House Of Muscle. Good luck.
MIKE MUSTOOOOOOOOOOO
Sooooo happy to see Big Mike over here on MT!! 👍 always liked his delivery and his pure love for muscle cars👏
I ended up with the complete opposite, and I regret nothing haha.
Jay Hulm the old injected 5ltr sound love it.
Randy Marsh Haha its a truly beautiful piece of machinery
Love my 5ltr
Musto is BACK!!! Love this channel!!!!
Show sounds and looks great, Leno invitee style. But you REALLY need to rethink the logo. Hold an online competition to design a new logo for merchandise or something. Good luck with the new series, I can't wait!
yup that pimp my ride style font just Noooo
After watching this series premier video, the thing I liked about all Mike Musto's vehicles was the fact they are all look that they've been driven like normal, daily drivers.
Very impressive!
if you don't drive them theres no point in owning it... I like this guy.
Great to see you here Mike!
Yeah, you could drive that Monte Carlo every day...in California.
GhostSpectre definitely not anywhere with snow
Throw some all season radials on it and I'll drive it all winter here in the Midwest, no problem
we owned a similar monte and we lived in idaho.
It's a big body on frame v8... pretty much a pickup truck lol
GhostSpectre i know right? i daily my 1968 461 pontiac firebird across the entire country... and it aint no pussy ass 14 second turd either. damn thing was a daily in upstate new york, winter and all. and now is my tow truck...
NIce work Mike. I used to love "Big Muscle" and have missed watching it. Super happy that you have started this show and will be a loyal watcher.
/DRIVE can't seem to keep any of it's employees.
Hell yeah ! Mike is in the house !
I so can't wait for the next episode.
That intro was seriously melodramatic, but the rest of the content is good.
Agreed.
"too powerful, too fast" i mean not really. I love muscle cars for the styling and the sound, but you put £50k into an old muscle car and you'll be lucky if you go as fast as a £10k 1998 supra.

+Forkuh Check out Sloppy Mechanics he's running 9's with a junkyard LS
No, those Supras only had 320 HP and the ones making more have had tens of thousands spent on them.
you can pickup 800hp supras for under £10k over here. How many miles you'll get before the heads crack is another story completely, but the point stands. You can make plenty of power in any vehicle if you're willing to spend the money on it.
Forkuh
Post forsale links to these 10K 800HP Supras bud. I think you're full of shit.
luckiest guy ever! most of my dream cars in one video, though i can't complain when my absolute dream car is sitting at home. this was a true pleasure to watch, thank you for a great show!
Let me guess this shit is going on motor trend on fucking demand
already aired a month ago
Yup. They make something really good and make it exclusive. I like how every defends them by saying "oh well in the real world it costs money to make these videos" but you don't see guys like Petrolicious becoming sellouts and they make arguably the best car videos.
It's going to be just like Roadkill and all the other regular MotorTrend shows, on MTOD first then on UA-cam a month later.
Hey +nevarema You profile pic is my PC background, Daft Punk FTW!
NikoBell12, Petrolicious is run by a VERY wealthy couple and was never intended to make money. They lose money on every single film they make. For most other content creators, that really isn't a feasible option.
Welcome Mike!!! We've missed you!!! /Muscle was one of my favorite series on UA-cam.

Add in 10 minutes of commercials for motor trend on demand each episode and there is almost no content from a channel that has almost 5 million subs.
adam courtney they all have a new episode each month. It's every four weeks. Just look at the MotorTrend channel's feed.
The 4 months thing was an over exaggeration. With the 4 or 5 shows they have there is really no reason that they couldn't have more content. This doesn't even take into account the shows they lock behind a pay wall in motor trend on demand which bleeds over into non MToD shows further cutting into time.

In short, content is lacking.
thats why its not a tv show. If you want daily content they have motortrend on demand which is where most shows do post almost daily.
You obviously don't understand how expensive and time-consuming it is to produce quality car content. If you want daily videos go watch some garbage vlog channel. I'll happily wait a month for quality episodes from all the shows on this channel.
Quit whining take a break from buying big Macs everyday and spend 5 fucking dollars on Mtod
MotorTrend is gearing up for one amazing 2017!!
ok... who wants a challenge between Mike's charger and General mayhem?
YESSSSSS! This man is a true car guy. I wanna see a show with him and Chris Harris co hosting. MT make it happen!
more episodes please?! do a 83 Trans Am with an L69 305 H.O. and 5 speed, that's mine! lol
same LOL
LoL kool

Nice. Have any videos of it?

Badass new show!!!
Dis gun be good
Musto! Glad you're back! By far the best part of DRIVE, now it's MT. Cool beans, I'll be buying a subscription.
I'd love, LOVE to DD a muscle car. Hell I'd love to finish the '77 Trans Am in my garage. But the winter would KILL it up here. Stupid road salt.
CJ DASHCAM Same boat here.. '77 Trans Am in the garage awaiting more parts.. one day my friend well get there!
-Chris
got chills in the intro AND YOU GOT MIKE.....KEEP...THIS...SHOW..GOIN
I can't wait until Matt from the smoking tire quits drive for motor trend lol
Matt is cool. He's found a niche with his channel and I like his content. But I don't think he would be a right fit for this channel.
so good to see Musto at MT! Congrats man!
Wait is this a on demand exclusive or avaliable on youtube?
MTOD Exclusive
At the end of the video, the announcer says that it will "each new episode will premiere exclusively on Motor Trend on Demand". I take this to mean that it will be similar to Roadkill, in that it will premiere there first, then later be transitioned to UA-cam.
David Freiburger
so fuckin basically a big long pos commercial... great thanks for that.
Episodes hit UA-cam after 30 days on MTOD. Also... MTOD is $5/mo. and totally worth it.
thank you for coming back.
this better not be a continental advert
So glad to see him back on UA-cam!!!
Who think Pimp My Ride Font will fit The "Muscle Car "
Welcome back Mike, good to see u again, so is it bye bye Drive.
from the thumbnail , i thought this was gonna be a softcore porn,
and i was not disappointed ! thanks Motortrend
Always enjoy your no nonsense presentations on my favorite vehicles, American muscle. I completed my wife's 1977 TA. three years ago to complete stock and she enjoys it in the summer, after storing it for 23 years. The car is like bran new, only fit and finish is better. Thanks.
Wasn't '77 the year that Pontiac sold the most T/As? Or was that '79?
My sisters 2004 dodge stratus that has 200,099 miles on it
Sniper and?
Sniper WITCH CRAFT!!!
A Moose once bit my sister.
Okay and my 93 s10 has 300,000
Sniper My 92 Toyota pickup has 348,000 miles.
Welcome to Motor Trend, Mike! Love hearing from a motorhead who just loves muscle cars, no matter which of the Big Three it came from.
You have two of the three cars I'd die to have which is fucking awesome
Musto! Finally - I've been waiting for this for sometime, good to have you back!
nephew then traded the car for a bag of weed
97 civic hatchback
2010 evo
Great to see you back on UA-cam Mike! Love the show!
@14:32 - Premiers on _Motortrend on Demand_. Does this mean it's out on YT 30 days later? Or is it permanently behind a paywall?
Dude... they gave you free content for years... and are still giving you free content... and it's $5 a month for a subscription...
+Anukloses

I m glad to see Mike has left drive and has landed on motor trend
Yes I love Mike Musto. But don't fuck this up MT
So this is where you've been.
Lookin good Musto..
so this is why Musto hasn't been on /Drive, interesting
TheNerdyCanadian didn't drive go to shit after that plus shit
/Drive is dead.
Colin Sebern figured as much
Faiyaz Husain pretty much lol
Mike Musto, you just made my day man! Welcome back!
You've got some seriously badass cars there, but about that Trans Am; instead of doing yet another LS swap like everyone else does, why not keep it all Pontiac? A Holley-injected 400 or 455 would be a hell of a lot of fun.
Totally agreed. I'm sick of LS swaps. Like c'mon people, be a little more original. I think though that a blown 403 would be badass
The 403 Olds? I agree it would be cool, but are there enough aftermarket parts available to build one?
justsomeguytoyou certainly would be since the second gens came with the option of a 403 from the factory
I know, I had one (a '79). I was just wondering if there were Oldsmobile high performance parts still being made, stuff like forged pistons, cams, etc---I would think that stuff would be hard to find since there isn't much interest in anything Oldsmobile nowadays. It makes me really happy to see Musto having his own show again. I'm very excited for this!
Your intro song should be a Motörhead song
Pumped to see this show continue and flourish! Big old school American Muscle enthusiasts myself!
If it's about all muscle, would that include some stuff from down under?
"It's a rolling disco ball." A truer statement has never been made. Hillarious!
I like the wife plug. I have to throw that one in once in a while when I'm about to make a questionable to her automotive purchase.
Motor trend picked up Musto! Good call!
So the drive dumped him. And he is now apart of motor trend
Love your shows!! Terrific!
A few audio issues but besides that, good show!
And that Daytona is gorgeous!
5:20 "the chickens everywhere"! Lol! Brilliant presentation, plus you have all my toy collectables!
First Drive lost Chris Harris. Now they lost Mike Musto. If they lose Matt Farah? Drive is *DONE*.
krocialblack hire derek d! Lol
/Drive is already done.
Glad to see you back! Today's "Big Muscle"! 4life))
