You said it...Bird would be ridiculous with today's medical advancements, training, nutritional, supplements, exercise technology...todays emphasison 3s.. and in today's no-touching/handchecking give-me-space league...and even today's shoes..Bird did most of that in plain flat converse 🤣

It's funny because Bird never admits to "trash talking". When asked about it I've seen him say he did it to fire himself up OR he says he did in good naturedly and in jest.
Bird admits his smack talk was in humor, not to demean.

That game with Portland he had 47 points 14 rebounds 11 assists playing 49 min he hit 21 of 34 and hit 3 three pointers. He only scored 22points left handed. What he said was that he would do left hand shots except long jumpers at least through three quarters. He said himself he had to go back to his right hand. Celtics win that game 120 to 119. Larry was about the win not stats but we loved when he made predictions and followed through. As a fan I have to tell you I will always have bird as my favorite player. I mean coming off the bench his rookie year for 19 games and taking a team from a 29 win season to a 61 win season and the way he did it too like we never seen ❤great reaction
Good to see you react to a Larry Legend vid again. If Bird played in today's soft, cupcake league, the NBA would have to change some rules because he would totally dominate the game and make it seem unfair to all the other players.

Being coach or executive of the year has no bearing on how good a player Larry was. It means he was smart and could take that beyond being a player. To use those facts to explain that he was a great player makes no sense.
I wish people would stop talking about the game Larry played with only his left hand. Look up interviews of him talking about it, and he also said if the game was close, he would use his right hand. If you watch the game, you will see many shots made with his right hand.
As for the 3-point contests he won, it was only the '88 season that he didn't take his warmup top off.
Larry is one of the best players in recent history, but sometimes legends go beyond what they really did.

Jasmine, if I remember what I heard on another video, Portland was the only team to beat Boston at home one season. Boston was 50-1 at home that year. So when the Celtics went on a west coast road trip their last game was in Portland. That's when Larry said he would play left handed, at least for 3 quarters.
They also only care about their stats now a days, Larry was one steal away from a quadruple double in only 3 quarters then he took himself out of the game and didn’t play the 4th quarter. When was told to go back in and get that last steal he said no I’ve already done enough damage all I care about is getting the win.
