It's crazy the way Hsieh beating Konta in the French Open a couple years ago was considered a huge upset and now it's the opposite!! Konta caused the upset
Hsieh is an incredible player, she had incredible wins over a top player because of her amazing playing style but I think she needs to improve her serve and her stamina to go far at a tournament.
Great job and experience by Konta not getting lulled to sleep with Su-Wei's pace of game, and a great job making semi's for the first time on the clay surface.
Hsieh had a number of opportunities in the second and especially the third to change momentum and break but ended up making some very uncharacteristic choices in strategy and hit right back to Konta a few times when she had a whole open court to put away some easy (for Hsieh) shots. Hsieh is the most entertaining player to watch however with her calm and non chalant manner of play while she makes incredible angles, drops, net play and lobs. She's a magician! Good win for Konta though and she played very well with a lot of crafty shots, she didn't just try and blast by Hsieh (which can be a losing strategy against Hsieh) and took some of Hsieh's playbook moves and did them herself. I'd like to see Konta win the tournament since Hsieh can't.
Am I wrong that Hsieh isn't very comfortable on clay? By the way she seems tired. Looking forward to seeing her in the next tournament. Love watching her play.
I think it’s good for Hsieh to lose in this tournament, given that this is not a big tournament. so that she can adjust her game next. She didn’t have many drop shots, lobs, slice in this match. Hope she can come back soon
@@jaysandhu3345 she managed to get a set a set off her thats good am glad she is only getting better(Hsieh). Though she does not have a big tournament trophy she has a consistency. Konta from Miami to nothing maybe it was pressure
Hseih is gonna get a slam soon.i like her style of play .she very different. But I think her serve need to be a lil better with even more speed. Nuff love hseih frm jamaica
Johanna konta continues her incredible fightback run. I was always a fan but what she is showing now makes me an even bigger fan. Cant wait to see her again on grass.
So sad Hsieh lost, she gets far in tournaments but can't pull through. She is so tiny that I feel she is just out of breath after some matches and then plays to passive... Shame maybe a little little more weight for hsieh just to get a bit more muscles? What do you guys thinkm
They pretty much have this tournament in Morocco due to a sense of obligation. It's the only WTA tournament in Africa, and removing this tournament would be bad PR. Still, it's pretty sad that tournaments that get a lot of local support like the Connecticut Open have been canceled while tournaments like this one get so little support and still remain.
Yes I agree, she needs a few pizzas with the lot and some big rib eye steaks and creamy potato mash with butter I think..get her off that bloody rice for a while...
Straight down to the pizza shop eh?!!! Good on you! But you are right, Su-Wei is very thin. Almost as thin as Kaia Gerber snd thats as thin as you can get!
The first time I put money on Su-wei and she looses the bloody thing...oh well I'll try again...Could be some big bucks waiting to be won with her I feel.. .I thought she was going to burst through the back door at the eleventh hour but obviously the door jammed...congrats to Johanna...I was going to stick with Jo but after watching the whole match from start to finish I thought halfway through the third set Su-Wei was gearing up to rush her but she didn't...Im becoming a paranoid punter!!
Did Konta outgun Hseih or did Hseih make mistakes in the last two sets?.......couldn't tell from this clip unfortunately........it's either both or seperate isn't it.
You'd have to out manoeuvre her and have a lot of power in your game.........she reads her opponents so well. Her serve is weak and that puts her under a bit of pressure.
Her serve technique is park level, not even a continental grip. The pro serve is pretty tough, I guess she tried it and decided to go back to beginner technique.
I wanted Hsieh to win of course, but Konta played well and has a big forehand, which is perfect for clay
Big win for Konta. I’d love for her to win a slam - she would have won 2017 AO if not for Serena. But not sure she will. Love Hsieh too
Konta? Winning a slam!?!?!?
She needs to just focus on just being more consistent, shes barely played like a top 50 player for more than a year.
Great match. Was almost expecting Konta to loose given Hsieh's reputation . I would like to have seen a bit more of the tie break though.
*lose
It's crazy the way Hsieh beating Konta in the French Open a couple years ago was considered a huge upset and now it's the opposite!! Konta caused the upset
It's more easy when you're the underdog

Didn’t expect much for Hsieh’s performance on clay court. Still root for her though.
Hsieh is one of my fav wta player. She's so talented
Aw..hsieh
Great job and experience by Konta not getting lulled to sleep with Su-Wei's pace of game, and a great job making semi's for the first time on the clay surface.
Just like seles, hsieh's groundstrokes are hard to predict.. opponents must hate playing her
except when they beat her lol
Konta is playing so well wow

Congrats konta!!!A tough match indeed, the strategy of drop shots were amazing 👍👍👍
I still like Hsieh. She’s a great player.
Great match konta
If Jo could maintain her high level of play she would blitz past players. Making it look harder than it is.
I think it’s good for Hsieh to lose in this tournament, given that this is not a big tournament. so that she can adjust her game next. She didn’t have many drop shots, lobs, slice in this match. Hope she can come back soon
Konta plays Hseih better than any other player on tour.
She lost to Hsieh at the French open sometime lol
Yeah she lost the first one but now she has solved Hsieh and beaten her 4 times in a row, and in the last 2 matches she bageled her
@@jaysandhu3345 she managed to get a set a set off her thats good am glad she is only getting better(Hsieh). Though she does not have a big tournament trophy she has a consistency. Konta from Miami to nothing maybe it was pressure
Anyone know who is on commentary? He always sounds like he has some sort of nasal congestion.

She needs more stamina to become a GS champion

a nearly 3 hour match and we get less than 8 minutes ? WTA must be on a very tight budget
I love Morocco, great Country
This match deserved a stadium court
Or at least some kind of audience at all..
I wanna see Hsieh v Serena

Brent Pham thank you!!!❤️
Gracias

I love Hsieh just the way she is and the way she plays. If it's not good enough to win a GS doesn't matter to me.
Dominic Przybylski I like her too the way she is, however I would like to see her get even further.
She is not getting younger, she's a granny soon:)
OMG i see the length of video and feel something gonna happen. So sad...
Same.
Konta movement is so stiff & too mechanical, she needs to more relax to regain her elite ranking position
A great match. 😍
This tournament must feel like such a downer after the well-attended Porsche Tennis Grand Prix...

NNN as a pro i would not want to play there with such little audience..
That is a good win for Konta!
Hsieh is too thin and needs a more varied serve. Her ability to jostle her opponents around needs to include astronger build.
Yes I agree, she needs a few pizzas with the lot and some big rib eye steaks and creamy potato mash with butter I think..get her off that bloody rice for a while...
@@craigmc3614 because of your comment, I am about to order out and eat for both Hsieh and me...
CHEERS. Lol

Qiang Wang is a good build for an Asian girl. Nice shape bum too.
Glad WTA understood what to show
Any one has doubt on who is best on drop shots... Hsieh what do you think

Well done Jo Konta 🇬🇧
Konta is back
well done Joanna Konta. Congratulations
Did Konta outgun Hseih or did Hseih make mistakes in the last two sets?.......couldn't tell from this clip unfortunately........it's either both or seperate isn't it.
Both, Hsieh played well but not her best
Anyway I love Sheri sue.
Hsieh's serve is her weakness
Konta earned her oats today!
Ooh too bad for my favorite Hsieh
What is the strategy to win against Su-wei style?
You'd have to out manoeuvre her and have a lot of power in your game.........she reads her opponents so well. Her serve is weak and that puts her under a bit of pressure.
@@stevehughes1510 Needs a stronger serve if that's possible to improve her game. With that she could of beaten Konta here.
@@paulkazakoff9231 Agreed Paul but that isn't going to happen is it. She's good but without the power play....that's her.
Her serve technique is park level, not even a continental grip. The pro serve is pretty tough, I guess she tried it and decided to go back to beginner technique.
What's wrong with Hsieh's game lately?
Nothing wrong. Her game style just never worked well on clay court.
Good to see Hsieh, and her rinky dinky game, out.
are we playing patty cake at 3-1? I mean jeez someone be aggressive here!
都是昨晚惹的禍 情人教練!
Vamos miss fed cup
Damn
Hdieh play like Niculescu 🤣🤣🤣😂
Congratulations professor konta--smart match. How to beat a pro pusher: link to this
Konta should retire. Her shots look weird.
