I used to think this was a joke. I used it on my horse with a hind suspensory injury. After 12 months of recovery and declining, I discussed with vet and was worth a shot. Kinesiology tape helped him. Personally wasn't a fan of this brand, but did use KT Tape pro for humans (did not shave leg) and totally worked!
Never have used this type before but Rock tape for people (Or the equine stuff) is exceptionally good for support, muscular maintenance and anti-inflammatory/bruising help.
@MicheleCervantez That's fair enough. Cuz I did a course a couple years ago they give it to me on a discount. Same with anybody who does their training.
I barrel race, would this be a good idea to do for speed events or is it just a support for other things. Maybe even putting it under support boots or polo wraps for extra support
Do you need to use all 3 colors of tape or were 3 colors used to demonstrate what can be done with only 1 color of tape? Is each tape different? Can 1 color of tape be used? I am interested in purchasing this tape and trying but I want to be sure I get the correct tape.
Don’t get this tape stuff. Give me a high quality proven suspensory boot that has even support and is easy to put on. I very much believe in prevention but this just doesn’t make sense when you consider how does someone know whether they are using 50%, 80%, or 20% stretch? People have enough issues putting bandages on right and bowing tendons...this could be just as bad.
Hi. I am sure that the percentage is going to be estimated and never exact. It comes with practice. I have used this for my own injuries and it is amazing. The body takes it as an additional muscle and therefore the other structures obtain relief. It is really useful when applied well.
The tape pulls the skin away from the facia in addition to providing support. I have ehlers-danlos syndrome and kt tape has been amazingly helpful for me. Compression wraps only provide support and compression. Tape provides support and INCREASES lymph flow, aiding healing.
Thank you so much. Very helpful. Very grateful

How often did you change the tape? Did you put it on just for exercise or did you leave it on 24/7?
Did you leave it on 24/7

I got away from using rock tape. I found for the price, others were cheaper and better.

polos do not provide support. just protection.
Would this be recommended for fairly acute DSLD in an older horse?
How long can you leave them on

I wonder if you actually need the "equine" tapes or if shaving the leg and using the human K Tapes would work just as well?
I did try the normal brands and it didn't stay on long.
