@vasocreta thanks for the kind words. I appreciate it and am glad it was helpful! The idea about being able to switch holsters on it is good. You should reach out and suggest that to them
I'm in total agreement with all that. I've gotten to know Al pretty well at this point. We actually occasionally email back and forth at this point just to say hello. He's a pretty cool dude
Hey Adam! My friend, your new video is awesome! Thanks a lot for putting it together despite the fact you've been incredibly busy lately, I really, really appreciate it, mate! :) Happy to hear you love the holster and its functionality! Regards, Al
The way it rotated out is genius. My brother got a dual rig for his p30’s. I’ve tried it out and you can carry quite a bit of weight with noticing it. I believe it was a few hundred dollars though. It was custom made how he wanted it. They do function very well
Dual carrying pistols is awesome! That seems downright old school gangster to me 😅 Craft sells double pistol shoulder holsters as well, I just couldn't see myself ever doing that. You bring up a great point as to how well these handle the weight, I should have mentioned that. You don't really notice any weight at all
I wonder why they lost some of their popularity? I feel like I've been missing out on this style of carry this whole time, it's dang comfy! I haven't got to watch your video from earlier yet but I like the new channel name 👍 thanks Alex!
@@AlphaRomeoOneFive Thanks! Seeing that Todd was demonetized, I want to stay away from YT police radar and made my channel name as bland as possible. I'm still going to use my channel icon as Strictly Plinking so I don't lose any subbers. Those shoulder rigs maybe making a comeback. @Small Potatoes I definitely know then name Galco. Galco and in this video Falco seem to be the two big leather holster companies out there. Not a bad idea to stay off the radar right now, they seem to kinda go in waves in hitting gun channels. I looked today and they demonitized a bunch of my video's, I'm sure this one will be too. @@AlphaRomeoOneFive Don’t know if my name change will do anything. Todd said he was notified about demonetizing his channel. You weren’t, but just on certain vids? Da hek are they up to?
Yeah the demonitization of videos vs the entire channel is a whole different beast. I'm not sure how close you pay attention to videos that you've monetized but if you go and look at old videos that were approved in the past I'm sure that you'll see some of them have had the ads shut off so they're not pulling in money anymore. Always wanted a shoulder holster, but never picked one up. A nice shoulder holster like this with a classic 1911 would be perfect. Great tip on the screw loctite. Awesome review brother! Hope you're having a great week!
Yeah a 1911 in a shoulder holster would have a really cool kind of classy gangster style to it 😎 Hope you have a wonderful weekend brother, give Kimber a pet for me!
I don't have any other ones to compare this one to unfortunately but am loving this holster. It's such a comfortable way of being able to carry. With the weight being on your shoulders it's almost like nothing is there.
😅 it could totally double as both! Considering you live in your coat for half the year a shoulder holster would actually be a pretty good option for you 🤔
Pretty cool holster and being that you want to bring back Miami Vice and such....LOL....I do like the way it swivels for better access as that is nice....Good stuff....
Miami sounds nice right about now, I can see why people become snow birds when they get older. Every winter as I get older seems to get colder and longer lol. Yeah the rotation of the holster is genius, whoever came up with that idea and design needs a raise!
Right on, thanks brother! If I remember correctly you're a truck driver right? I'd imagine shoulder carry would be a good comfortable way of carrying for that line of work.
Thanks Jerry! I've always wanted one as I've always thought it looked like a cool way of carrying lol. I was surprised with how much of a comfortable style of carry it is.
Yeah whoever designed it deserves a bonus as it's pretty genius. They definitely make sell some great holsters and their customer service seems to be top notch.
Awesome, glad you found something you like! I should try one of their belts as well, I need something for nicer occasions other than my more "tactical" belts lol. Let me know how you end up liking it 👍
Even though I've wanted to get the over the shoulder holster I'm pretty content for now with my OWB holster for the time being. i have a roto holster, i did have a problem with the mag carrier, i couldn't snap it with my 8rd mags for my 1911 so i added 2 more snaps on the same strap
Nice setup! I was looking for a shoulder harness/holster for my SD9VE and the leather ones were all pretty spendy. I ended up finding a military surplus Tanker's harness that had an attachment for my Safariland GLS holster for like $18. It has a strap that goes around your waist rather than clipping to your belt to keep it tight to your body. I like that "roto" design on yours. Keep putting it to use and give us a 3 month or 6 month update!👍🏻🍻
Thanks brother! I'm actually so far behind in getting reviews knocked out I think I've already had this holster for 6 or 7 months 🤦 While it's not something I can wear everyday because of work it's held up and been great so far. Sounds like you got a good setup going for yourself. I hope it works well for you 👍
You are trying something new by using a roto shoulder holster and developing new skills by doing so - that's good. For concealed carry and depending on how I am dressed, I've been using shoulder holsters for nearly five decades (sometimes, depending upon the situation, I will revert to either a pocket holster or a Phylster Enigma). Your trigger finger remains at a high register until you bear on the target - that's a good, safe technique that aids in preventing negligent discharges. However, you frequently laser your support arm/wrist/hand upon drawing with your strong hand - that's not so good. To prevent self-lasering, if you feel most comfortable keeping your left elbow low as you draw, then you need to use your support hand to pull your concealment garment out and back away behind to the left as you draw with your strong hand while keeping the muzzle pointed somewhat downwards and out away from your lower body as you rotate the muzzle towards the target. Alternatively, if you feel more comfortable raising your left elbow, you need to raise your support arm/wrist/hand above the laser line of the muzzle until you have rotated the muzzle past your lower body and support arm/wrist/hand. In both instances, while your weapon remains close to your body (i.e., your strong-side arm has not yet been extended towards the target), as soon as your weapon's laser line has swung clear of any part of your body then at that point your support hand needs to immediately release your concealment garment and move in to form up your two-handed grip as you then drive your weapon up and out towards the target and up into your sight picture. During reloads, you are fumbling - that's not so good. Whenever you run dry, it helps to bring your weapon in close up directly into your workspace (i.e., pointing at a right angle in the direction of your support side and close in front of your face but just below your line of sight) so that you can constantly watch the tango(s) while you drop your dry mag and insert a new one. In that manner, you can still "see" your weapon in your peripheral vision if needed. With your mag well pointed straight down, you then depress the mag release with your support hand thumb and drop the mag. You then slightly rotate your weapon such that the mag well then points down angled towards your support hand while bringing your support hand up to insert the mag. Something else that would really help on your reloads would be to first insert your spare mags into your strong-side mag pouch with the bullet noses pointing BEHIND you. As you draw your magazine from its pouch, you need to "cup" the bottom of the mag using just your little, ring, middle fingers, the side of your palm, and then grasp using your thumb and the heel of your palm while running your index finger up the front face of the loaded mag so that the tip of your index finger just touches the nose of the first round. With the tip of your index finger resting on the bullet nose, your natural coordination will guide your support hand to your mag well without having to take your eyes off the tango(s) to see what you are doing. The best way to learn to safely and effectively carry and draw using a shoulder holster is to practice - starting slowly, by the numbers - in front of a full-length mirror with an unloaded weapon and empty mags. If you add in the CoolFire CO2 dry fire system to your practice, you will very rapidly become quite skilled while doing so safely. Molon Labe!

Nice holster..I have a holster t- shirt that holds in the vertical position with no straps..it has two mag holsters, and is amedextris..I bought it a little tight so it doesn't move around, but your holster looks pretty good..👍
@@AlphaRomeoOneFive it's more of a lighter stretchy material, kind of like an elastic elbow or knee pad only thinner..Yes, it covers the trigger, holds any size pistol, or, at least an auto..It holds the gun firmly to your body, and it barely moves when you draw..I ordered it on line from somewhere about 4 yrs. ago, I don't even remember where, biy I do remember that I thought it was an American company, but it ended up being from Chyna..🥲..The 20th is my birthday, but I will get a pic of it n send it to you 👍
At times, on your initial movement to draw, you're "tucking" your right shoulder. In doing so, you throw off your body trigonometry. Keep that right side out and still. Your draw time will reduce AND your weapon presentation will be cleaner, leading to faster on target time.
Got one in for my 1911 in the Fall of 2023. I really wanted to like this holster but can not. I'm 6' tall and a fit 170 pounds and this holster just doesn't fit me. I had wanted a shoulder holster that could give me a vertical carry at my side but this carries just above a cross-draw holster - which can be had for a lot less money. I've shortened the adjustments as far as they will go and the holster still hangs loose and at my waist, and the straps want to slide off my shoulders. It seems like the mfr sized these for larger bodies. As other reviewers have noted, the rear mag is hard to get at. I also just discovered a REAL problem with this holster. The "securing" snap on the holster does NOTHING to secure the pistol. My 1911 easily slides in and out of the holster, regardless if the strap is snapped or not. So... this holster is a big fail if you want your 1911 pistol to be secured. The satisfaction guarantee from the company is a joke and 100% worthless.
Thanks Steve and I can see why you love them. It's an incredibly comfortable way of carrying, I've been missing out all this time! Charlie Mike brother, give all the pups a pet for me 🇺🇲

@Big Johnson Guns and Gear 😅 there was an episode last year where the Ferrari ran out of gas so he drove around the new Toyota Supra. That's my dream car so I rather liked that episode
I think it would work just fine, I'm not skinny by any means as you saw by my gut hanging out lol. I was surprised at just how comfy it is, having that weight on your shoulders makes it all really lightweight and less noticeable than carrying on your waist
My dad just ordered this for me as a birthday gift. I've been watching videos on it and already I don't think I like it. The whole "roto" thing seems unnecessary and bulky as all hell. Seems to defeat the purpose of concealment
Not all holsters have to be made or used for concealment. This holster, in particular as far as I use it, is primarily for open carry around the farm. I'll occasionally wear it for long road trips as well. For conceal carrying with it you definitely need a jacket or coat over the top. As far as it being bulky goes, once you put it on I don't notice it being too bulky at all. Everyone has different preferences and styles for what may work or may not work for them.
You probably should have your dad order you a Condor vertical holster. They are like $21 versus $180. That way you could have taken the difference in cost, and bought a new vape pipe and accessories., Or juice. I carry a para ordnance 2011, the difference in a regular leather shoulder holster is day and night.. My Para is a heavy gun. Rolling it out of the roto is faster . They are simply badass and typically Simps would not buy them.

I think it would work just fine, I'm not skinny by any means as you saw by my gut hanging out lol. I was surprised at just how comfy it is, having that weight on your shoulders makes it all really lightweight and less noticeable than carrying on your waist
Welcome to Alpha Romeo onefive armory. How can I help you?
😅 I'll take the number 4 large and a Glock 20 please!
@@AlphaRomeoOneFive cash or charge?

Pretty snazzy there Dirty Harry =)
😅 I do what I can!
Rolling it out of the roto is faster
. They are simply badass and typically Simps would not buy them.
Great video! I purchased mine for the same reasons as you. This is the Cadillac of holsters.
