      You have to find the right place for each of these houses. Although for a normal dwelling space, 220square feet for a sleeping area, and a living area are the minimal dimensions the IBC requires outside of the ADU market.

      Obviously you have not been to an awful lot of America. There are tons of places without city regs and HOAs where these fit well. 2/3 of the State of Maine could handle these as improvements over many camps that are just shacks. Miles of Prarie where these go great too. There are tons of You Tube channels of people doing Tiny Homes and Yurts- what exactly are you laughing at???

    The problem is that they offer these as cheap alternatives. Building the house costs very little. Concrete for foundation, septic and water are what are outrageous. 3/4 of your cost just to get your house prepped to build. At least in canada.

    • @punkinhoot
      @punkinhoot 2 місяці тому

      How to mix concrete with no water? Is like government wants more homeless, get a job! Well, I had one but property investors purchased the building I lived in and evicted me, then I lost my job because, well, homeless.

      Agree. You Can build a house of Livable size for Under $15,000. Finished Inside and Out. On Blocks but thats okay depending on where you live.. Yet they will Try and sell you the Same Size SHELL of a Shed for $15,000 and If you are dumb enough to make payments, by the time you pay it off, you have Almost $30,000 into just the Shell, that you Should NOT do anything to to finish it off until it's paid for or Risk getting Repo'ed. Then If you pay it off, You still have to Finish the Inside of it.. And the houses in the Video are Well over $50,000 and Most are over $100,000 and called "Cheap Alternatives"???
      16x28 Build Yourself Shed/House Finished Outside and Inside.. Again Under $15,000.. Hell If you were smart, Under $10,000. To Buy ( If You Pay CASH ), Almost $20,000.. Use the money you Save Building and put that towards other stuff.. Yet I am called the Dumb one.. I admit, I have my Moments..

    Not to be mean, but as you may know already, an egg shell is only strong when pressure is applied on both tips evenly, nothing else. Unfortunately, that is not always the main issue here. There are other elements, objects, or natural causes that may destroy a beautiful house like that :D
    The good thing is that the materials in the video look super strong and that round house looks very beautiful.

    On the French wood "block" design. I have to wonder about the breakage when the wood swells. It is put together dry fit, and tight. Even if there isn't breakage, then there is bending once the dried wood comes back and has take the new shape. This happens with humidity as well as direct water seepage. Don't think I would buy one of these.

    • @HappilyHomicidalHooligan
      @HappilyHomicidalHooligan 3 місяці тому

      Swelling could, in Theory, be prevented by coating the wood blocks with a penetrating sealer which then blocks water from seeping into the wood

    • @markperron851
      @markperron851 Місяць тому

      Notice they use no fasteners so the house can breathe. The wood is going to have more give than standard construction. It's like DaVinci's bridge, it holds itself in position and the more weight you put on it the stronger it gets.

    This Video was on a Scale of 100 should be Rated to be @ a Merciful 60. It was informative / But it Would Have Been -
    a Lot better if they had Either Exchanged that " Mentally Broken Down Noise " in the background for Either some Music Worth
    Listening to / or No Sound Effects At All !
    Instead of saying; " Better Luck Next time " ! / I'll Suggest that " TechZone " Removes this Video for " Repair " meaning That
    they Change the " Sound Effects " ! / And This time go out on the " sidewalk " and Play some samples for people. And Ask them,
    what they ( " Honestly " ) Think of it ? !

    That clay house would never work in the climate where I live and the osb sheets in the wood building will leak bad stuff for years for us humans. I build a similar wooden house but with long planks like an old traditional building where I live that I insulated on the inside that worked pretty ok as a summerhouse.

    The outsides are interesting, but the insides are more telling. A walk-thru is even better. The French one would have been a better "experiment" with at least a toilet, food-bringing capabilities, and battery/solar-powered lighting. The trailer with "...all the essentials for a camping experience."??? Then where is the toilet? That is VERY essential unless the ladies are to squat in the bushes. The shipping containers have "for safety they've got C and steel on the outside."???? 20' high ceilings?? What for? That is about1 more floor you don't have.
