  • Stage 1:
If needed a releasing agent is applied by brushing it with linseed oil so the plaster doesn't adhere to the mould.
    Stage 2:
The plaster is mixed up to a lump free consistency is then brushed and poured onto the mould and worked into every nook and cranny to ensure there is plaster covering all the enrichments and detail.
    Stage 3:
Once covered with plaster the plasterer works layers of scrim int to the plaster or fibreglass could be used to increase strength of he cast
    Stage 4:
The back of the rose is then ruled of , Smoothing occurs against the edge of the mould and in this way the finished rose has a flat back making it easier to fix in place. The middle is most times left unfilled to keep the weight of the rose down
    Stage 5:
The plaster rose is left to dry for around 30 minutes and when the plaster has set, and cooled the rubber is gently peeled to encourage the casting to separate from the mould. The surface is checked for major imperfections and provided there are none it is stored to dry and the mould is free for more castings

I've installed them in various sizes for customers on different jobs.but I'd like.to produce my own. What would a a standard 40\50mm rubber mould set me.back? I understand you're extremely busy of course
