I think it looks better lower, so you can see the top of the stand. 👍

That's what I think Ted. It shows a little of the wood that way. Thanks for the input. ✌✌

It's raw right now. White Oak. It can be any color of course. I have considered both black and white as well as a few stains. I think a gray would look good too. ✌✌

clear finish, mic in the lower position to show more grain. just my opinion. doesn't look like the cord is under too much stress.

You like the raw Oak? I like the mic in that position also. Great thing about the oak is I can have sooo many different finishes. I get some red oak as well. ✌✌

@udx-483muddbucket5 @udx-483muddbucket5 if it was mine, which i know it is not, i would mix epoxy and just dump it on there, maybe 2 coats. it wouldn't hide the grain. white oak is unique. over 600 species of oak. some free old furniture usually has really neat grain, as some it came from the dark ages growth, when the trees grew very slowly and made even tighter grain. raw is nice, but it is harder to clean and attracts finger grease over time, unless you wash your hands every 20 minutes or live in a perfect environment. clear finish enhances the grain, i always try to go clear up to 400 grit or above because of the hardness. osage is my favorite. same species the indians chose for bows. hardest tree in North America. yellow, but tans with uv exposure. holographic in nature when fine sanded. but to stay on topic, white oak is awesome.

@@get__some I wouldn't be against clear. I'm considering selling a few for some radio money and I figure some will prefer gloss as some satin, Mower Junkie said it needed to be black and that's the good thing, it can be just about whatever you like. ✌✌

@udx-483muddbucket5 if you ask 100 people, you might get 100 different answers. custom woodburning, prior to clearcoat, applicable to each buyer, might fetch a higher price tag. gifts sell better sometimes. if you burnt in udx483 on the front of the base, where it could be seen... goes up in more than one area of value.

It sucked. I had to go to that dam phone store, spend the rest of the day trying to set everything up and still don't have any of my contacts and some are out of state with no email, no youtube, facecrap and no one else to ask for it. UUGGHH!!! ✌✌
