Wow, you have a great collection of Opinels! Super comprehensive of all the options possible. I have the picnic plus and LOVE it, part of my everyday carry. I use a No.10 just as the knife but got the complete set for the picnic plus; Opinel is a reasonably priced brand so whilst it feels fun and special, it hardly broke the bank. Now I'm tempted to get a slim No.10 to use alongside... Thanks for the great video.
Harriet, thank you for your kind comment. Them being so reasonably priced is exactly why I have had the opportunity to get virtually every model over the years. I’ve never been afraid to put them to use and still never had one break on me, either. They are all “beaters”, but yet special to me.
Am totally with you,@@Apollonia93, each of mine has become an old friend, all are very similar yet different but all work brilliantly and cost no more than 20 euros each...what's not to love? Best wishes to you.
Excellent demonstration, i was searching to find a comparison in size between a regular No8 , No8 garden and eff slim No10, i had a hunch the ring size was similar between all 3. is the handle size on the slim similar to the garden ?
Thanks! The No. 10 Slim and No. 8 Garden have an almost identical handle thickness, indeed. The Slim is just much longer. Then again, the No. 8 Slim… Is a bit shorter than the Garden, but, as you can see, much thinner.
Kinda dissapointing they couldn't figure out a way to make the set compatible with at least the #7 or #9. Then again, it is a novelty and a recular cutlery set isn't any heavier and is more comfortable to use. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for watching! I mostly had it in my pocket for snack breaks on dog walks or car drives and must say I find it really comfortable to carry and use. No problems there. But! Having to buy more No. 08s to even be able and use it as advertized was just maddening.
New Military Surplus eating utensils are more convenient with separate fork , spoon , and knife with built in can opener . They are manufactured of food grade stainless steel , better value .
As I said in the video, it really seems to depend on your individual knife. It’s a stock model that I have not modded. The quality control is all over the place.
Well, judging by your syntax and (lack of) punctuation, you certainly did not ;) As the meme goes: While you were busy leading a successful social life, I studied the blade!
I've just got the number 8 Opinel knife with the spoon and fork attachments. Great quality and value for money. 👍
Great video, simple explanation and very helpful. Thanks!

Super helpful as I bought the utensils to use with my older no 8 which won't lock in. Thanks very much
I’m glad it provided some insight, Adrienne!

@@Apollonia93 Thanks a lot for your feedback, not easy to get an idea for size.

Maybe so, but that’s a diffierent application. As this is a cheap expansion kit and meant for a piece of equipment you already have and like.
It needs a synthetic handled knife really for this to work. One dunk of the spoon in a liquid = swollen joint.
How were you able to insert it in the Garden No8? They don’t enter in mine.

Mine works on it.
Opinel must tighten the quality control, it has fallen significantly and now it is quite bad.
You’re exaggerating my dude
Did any of you go to school size = diameter or ring size to spoon width😊 common sense really.
