Thank You Thank You Thank You. Your great ten year old video is exactly what I needed to see. Cheers from the Land Down Under, the original homeland of Shorrock, Goble, Birtles, Briggs and McArdle. Pellicci was born in London but grew up here.
so welcome and 10 years later I see with 73k views that it has helped a bunch of folks and you included and you hear me speak of that in the video - success is a wonderful thang, ain't it? God bless you & we patriot's America! 🇺🇸
you are so welcome Luis! Had to do it as was looking for something myself all those years ago - This was my conclusion when it was my trial and error more or less. God bless we patriot's America!
Peace and unity to you :)....we ended up using Mapei pre-mix mastic on the bathtub walls...big mistake because the substrate was a Hardie cement board coated with Red Gard waterproofing membrane....after 3 days the installer thought the tiles had been set, knocked off the tile levelers and within minutes the 12 x 24 in thick porcelain tiles started to sag....I'm not a happy camper
@@thewildwilsonshow we got the tiles off...I'm just worried about having the residues on the tile for when we use the right thinset mortar...we've scraped them pretty clean (turns out it does emulsify easily in water...bad). I'm thinking of steaming it off of the walls...tried the above method and it seems too solid
@@CyndiLH What about cutting out your backer and installing new? Might be faster. if there is residue on your tile and when you smear grout on it that should about scrape it off maybe. Tile work is usually slow especially when having to get creative. Best luck!
Thank. I'm getting ready to do the exact same thing. Just repaired a frozen pipe. The plumber wanted $125 to ring the doorbell. Now to find a 1x1 piece of durarock.
@@Mr._Chievous Hey Playpen, thank you and yes there are bunches - I suspect all you need do is click on my name or something. Also you can search out for 'the next bathroom project:' and should find a bunch bunch there that includes Bathman - enjoy! 'getting up a stud' and 'plant a tree 2017'
Dude you look very much like Andrea Pirlo... Thanks for your tutoring. I've seen a lot of ideas to remove thinset from floor using several kinds of machines but yes, removing it from wall is different...
You're welcome Jonathan. A funny story: One new years eve a couple years ago I was at a friends house and sitting on a couch. His young 3 year old daughter was sitting on the floor. He pointed at me and asked her who I was. She in all her sincere innocence said, "Jesus". You with your comment certainly reminded me of that. :)
Another video that proves the quick and dirty method of using bend-a-board isn’t so quick after all. Floating walls plumb and square is best way to go.
trust me you don't want me singin' it's hard with the music, but when I do these I let it fly - if you see the bbq videos they always have bed music that sounds like it came from a movie where the guys had mustaches similar to mine long long years ago - lol

so glad it helped you! - I lived in Sydney...actually Narrabeen right on the beach for 6 months in 1971-72 - it's changed a bit since then! cheers!
Excellent taste in music friend 😉👌🏿🎵
Thanks for making the video. I needed to know how to remove the thinset .😊
you are very welcome and hope it wasn't too much trouble Dee!
Thank you!!!! I needed this
hope all was successful for you!

Halleluyah…..someone recorded a problem solver!! Thank you, Thank You!!
you're very welcome. How has your job gone along since 1 week ago now?
Thanks for making the video. I was looking for this.

I used an angle grinder with a diamond wheel
Thank you my tiling Jesus.

Ugh, so sorry! That nasty ass premix stuff, but we've all been there with those products unfortunately! Hope you've fixed it all and all better now!

ugh, frozen pipes. Sorry. Go to the Menards, Home Depot, Lowes and look for a broken piece and they'll discount it to get rid of it. Best!
@@thewildwilsonshow a discount on the cheapest thing you can buy at home depot? love your video. are there more?

Seriously. I'm helping a buddy and we need to take the mortar off the backerboard. You are right, there aren't many videos of this.
Same! (Still!)
Thanks for the tip.
Really like Little River Band in the backround

Holy fuck!!! I just transported back to the 1960's
early 70s :)
Dampen thinset and use a razor scraper
Peace and unity is good.
I was wondering where you got that phrase from and now I know - super! Yes, truly and God bless we patriot's America!
"I've always got LRB loaded up here I've got 6 discs in here."
If cheech and Chong make a new movie I think you should play Dave good video Dave!
Daves not here. thanks man!
Maybe use an oscillating tool.
only trouble I can think is the teeth would fry off kinda fast - maybe the gritty bit that goes with that too - thanks.
The make hardened chisel blades for oscillating tools that work well.
i don't have a special someone. i have a wife
