WOW what a trail ! and it was made so much worse with that AC not having 4WD or a winch.... that sucks.... it made so much more work for all of yahs, BUT you guys handle it great, all stayed in good spirits and you didn't leave him behind haha That camping spot.... just beautiful ! isn't is crazy.. it seems like the worse the trail, the more beautiful spot you get to. I'm going to have to check out Part 2 ! Great video man ! really enjoyed it.

Sucks having issues with the Cat but even with all the issues we still managed to make it! We also couldnt leave him behind, my mother in law would have our heads haha. @@ElevationATV There's not much riding period. The majority of offroading here would be out in dry lakes, deserts, or sand dunes. But forested areas there's very little of and places to ride with water there's maybe 2 locations at the most.
@SoCal Outlander ATV Damn, that's not good! We have lots of sand pits and sandy areas here. Not my favorite places to ride... love venturing into the forests. I'll be working on a new video shortly from this weekends past ride. Stay tuned...
What a bummer to not have an operating winch or your differential to lock when you need 4x4. But you guys were able to work together to get out of that jam in the mud. That spot there by the lake looked awesome! I look forward to part 2! Cheers man. A cold one off the trail hits the spot.
Yeah! No kidding... both issues on the Artic Cat were news to us! Mine was just jammed up or not wound back properly. I've already fixed that. Rolled it all our and wound it back up properly. Things you should do BEFORE heading out, am I right? 😆 Thanks for the comment and watching Ruben.

YEAH BUDDY, that looked like a whole mitt full of fun! I love these videos where there's a destination and a bit of work to get there. The anticipation makes the video so much better. Sucks that the 4WD and winch calved out on the Cat. What are the odds? Trails were amazing! I remember the beaver pond area and the rocky areas from the first(?) I know hey? We're not sure when the 4WD drive stopped working, it really hasn't been in any rough terrain awhile. Same with the winch, honestly can't remember the last time it was used? But hey, should be checking these things BEFORE the trip anyway lol. Atleast we managed to make it. We were at that first area where Jord got stuck for over 45 minutes.... was brutal lol. I love these kind of trails... the ole ticker beats just a bit harder! Thanks for watching and the comments as always Q.

Artic Cat is looking pretty "nude" these days, stripped down to the frame and getting a good checkup. I posted some pictures on my Instagram. She'll be ready to roar again shortly! Always! Only time we didn't have a great time was when it was +35 and wayyy too hot to fish haha. We had no wind at our campsite either so it was a little uncomfortable lol. @@ElevationATV I actually didn't get out at all this past season.. I even got my machine all dialed in to rip, but sometimes life changes the plans a bit.. hope to get out once before the serious cold hits, but I did get myself a snow blade this yr so that could be fun.

Well, that Arctic Cat dude is gonna need to do some investigating into his 4x4! LOL "This is the easy spot!" 😉 Smart to scout out trails like that before just driving in! Spot #2 was worth the adventure!
We've learned from past trips to be cautious in that area lol. We've learned that when beavers are involved, the landscape changes frequently. So better to play it safe! Artic Cat's already been looked at. Not sure if you follow my Instagram but I have some pictures of it stripped down. They looked so weird, those old & naked cougars lol. First my rant lol Fing YT made it chopping on my end to watch and it was 1080p. Done I’m surprised you guys didn’t have a beer after all the frustration of that cat being stuck …..don’t you know cats don’t like water lol 😂 but you guys got through without too much blood sweet and tears . I like this trail be a fun entertaining one . Some of my group likes this stuff and one doesn’t haha.
Yeah, I know. It bugs me... because the video on my computer that I edited is clean and looks fantastic. They just butcher it here which is really starting to get on my nerves. I spend alot of time making sure it's perfect before I export it so it's a let down for sure. Haha yeah, Cat's and water. This was more of mud I guess? Honestly if he didn't get hung up on the stump he might have made it. Was WAY better than years past through there. I love these trails, I could do this route or around there a few times a year. Nice camp spot at lk tight trail in places . Ever fig out what went on his 4x4 has to suck happen on a trip . Been lucky myself run cats for 14 yrs never had any prob and i do give it a work out . Sure look like going be a awseome trip for you guys 😎👍
Hey Norm, yes there was a damaged seal on the 4WD actuator. We actually had another ride after this that we had some issues with the 4WD as well. We took the actuator off and tore it apart a couple of weekends ago and it was full of water. I believe my father-Inlaw already has the replacement. We just need to install and buttoner back up. Haha yeah normally that spot is just wet, flooded but had a good bottom so passi g through is easy. Obviously the terrain has changed over the years. Shouldn't have been an issue but the Artic Cat got hung up on that stump or whatever it was. The other three of us made it through no problem.
@zombanator3000 Lots of sandy trails here... infact most of the regular trails are mainly sand. I certainly don't look for mud! But sometimes we have no choice depending on where we're going.
@@ElevationATV I mean. Define "nice". Cause I've rode them for the past 16ish years. And their really the only trails I know... sandy, whooped out, roots, tight turns, with occasional down trees requiring either a reroute, a cut, or a new trail pushed out through the brush. I got some vids of the dirt bike trails on my channel if you wanna see them for perspective.

Haha, goobers. Yeah, we're required to wear helmets here. Even if we weren't, I probably still would! Especially on trails like these. I don't wear one when riding/maintaining our trails, though. Man, your editing is phenomenal. What program do you use? And what GoPro settings? Mine seem to pixelate a lot more when uploading to UA-cam. You had to be covered in mud! Gotta hate when the machines aren’t working correctly and it disrupts your plans. Still better than being at work! Awesome lake spot at the end. Beautiful!
I really appreciate that! Thanks! I spend alot of time toying around with different things to create a story out of what we recorded so it means alot when people notice it. UA-cam pixelates and degrades alot of my stuff too, though I have found that some of my videos look better in some places than others. It's weird, when I'm at work they look terrible but when I'm at home they look good. Maybe its just the wifi connection? I don't know but UA-cam still rakes the resolution regardless. I edit with Wondershare Filmora 11 currently. I like it, pretty user friendly. As for settings, I had my GoPro set at 1080 30fps, which I kinda goofed on. I meant to set at 1080 60fps. Thanks for the comment and compliments. Gets me motivated to work on Part Two!
@@blaze_atv It'll be a bit yet. I only started sifting through the raw video and I've hit a creative bump, haha. Winter really hasn't even begun yet here so I'm not worried.
One thing you can do with those cats that I had to do before is take the servo off and manually shift it in the 4 wheel drive with your thumb and then put the server back on and then just leave it in 4 wheel drive.
Those Arctic Cat 4 wheel drive system is the biggest pile garbage They should have just left it alone and kept the manual shift 4 wheel drive Like the older ones never had a problem. Even all newer bikes they all have stupid servo that always goes bad eventually Is it really that hard to manually shift it in the 4 wheel drive why would they ever change that.
I'm not all that familiar with how they used to be but this one is a 2011. We were pretty shocked at how little there was to the 4WD actuator when we had removed and opened it up. Didn't take much damage/wear for it to take on water which was the cause of it not working properly (obviously). There was one more ride after this one that we had nothing but issues with it. But spoiler alert, it's all fixed up now and ready for the trails again.

Thanks man, it's actually only about 11kms one way but takes a little over an hour to do if you have no issues.
@@ElevationATV 1h is not that much to enjoy that kind of adventure. I prefer going 10-20 km/h in a small trail than going 60 km/h in a bigger road

One thing you can do with those cats that I had to do before is take the servo off and manually shift it in the 4 wheel drive with your thumb and then put the server back on and then just leave it in 4 wheel drive.
I have read that. Maybe look at that if the new actuator kicks the bucket.
I was thinking the same thing bit them you have to be a little saavy mechanically wise

Those Arctic Cat 4 wheel drive system is the biggest pile garbage They should have just left it alone and kept the manual shift 4 wheel drive Like the older ones never had a problem. Even all newer bikes they all have stupid servo that always goes bad eventually Is it really that hard to manually shift it in the 4 wheel drive why would they ever change that.
I'm not all that familiar with how they used to be but this one is a 2011. We were pretty shocked at how little there was to the 4WD actuator when we had removed and opened it up. Didn't take much damage/wear for it to take on water which was the cause of it not working properly (obviously).
There was one more ride after this one that we had nothing but issues with it. But spoiler alert, it's all fixed up now and ready for the trails again.
