My husband has a Strong Back & loves it. I have a CGI Rocker & love that one. We also have a Nemo Stargazer for when we have the big open sky at night! All super comfy and strong. We love the Clam for a covered dining canopy. Easy to set up and take down. Also comes with wind sheilds. We put our propane fire pit in the on low, & it get toasty warm and those cooler evenings.
I have a GCI Outdoor rocker for the campfire and GCI Outdoor folding chairs for when I have to walk across the campground to someone else's site. Both are very comfortable and durable. If I'm staying somewhere more than a couple days I set up my Clam Quick-Set Escape gazebo over the picnic table, and put my Table Gloves covers on the top and benches of the picnic table. If it's windy or cold, I put the walls on the gazebo and fire up the Mr. Heater and it's another room for playing games and eating meals (the wind doesn't blow things away and the squirrels and birds can't get at things, so I leave things out there on the table). Anti-gravity chairs are also very nice for a lazy afternoon. I will admit to being a glamper. This video is tough to watch when it's snowing outside. I'm so jealous. Thanks for a great video!
The heck with string lights, old school oil and/or kerosene mantle lanterns and citronella candles for the win! (Often hung up in the air) Pup up gazebo or rain/sun shields for wet/ hot weather w/privacy walls adds usable outdoor space. Outside shower hose conversion for dishes/showers (with privacy tent of course) for boon docking or non sewer hookup sites.
We used to use those clips for the tablecloths but grew tired of them popping off. Switched to giant rubber bands from Amazon. Work on many sizes of tables and have so many other uses around camp.
We love our Clamm (popup screen house to use over the picnic table. Keeps bugs and sun off and in winter has clip on sides to keep you warm. We also have a solo wood burning stove that makes a quick, hot wood fire with no left over mess. Smoke vents straight up and does not get in your eyes or on your clothes.
A trick to enjoying those fold up chairs is to buy a small seat pad..you can get them in the housewares dept, or sporting goods stores, etc. It gives more support to your bottom and backside.
Check out the Member's Mark Portable Director's Chair. It folds up super compact and is very comfortable. I also came across a nearly identical design at Aldi's except it had a carry strap but that's a seasonal item.
All good suggestions! I have the propane fire pit and we love it. Some places don’t have fire pits so I bring along an old Weber Kettle and a couple of bricks, take the legs off set it on bricks you have a fairly large fire pit. When you’re done for the night just put the cover on.
We use Strongback chairs. A bit pricey but worth it for the lumbar support. Ours are sun faded as we use them every day but otherwise have held up great.
Love the little propane fire pit! My Bass Pro Shop Zero Gravity Chairs are the BOMB. We would not go camping without them. (Collapse thin) I also take a TS4000 trigger torch for fires. It has a safety switch to keep the propane off when stored. Thanks for all your videos!
The Alps mountaineering rocking chair is my number one outdoor camping chair. The only con is that it does not pack up small. But I promise once you use it you will find a way to make it work.
We test drove and then chose Timber Ridge Folding Director chairs. Sumo strong when open, side table with cup holder & cell phone 'slot', folds flat and compact, and they were available as a 2-pack for $80 at Costco. For us, the biggest goals were comfort and small form factor when folded, a third one being the side table. Getting the right balance of those three goals was the tricky part.
Hi Mr. Jared. Long time listener, first time caller. For chairs, we have some older zero gravity that are very good. I would recommend if you can find chairs with cloth padded arms like ours. Almost never see them anymore, but they are are better. Also find a chair that your ankles will rest on padding, not the hard bar at the bottom. Finally, I recommend "Rollumup"'s for putting up lighting. Amazon has them now. Work excellent with our lights. Most new trailers already have lights built in to the awnings, but if not, these have worked for 8 years for us. Just slide them on and they stay. Plus, if you have an emergency, they hold the lights with velcro, so the lights can be ripped down fast, to roll up the awning fast.
The CORE 40025 Equipment Folding Oversized Padded Moon Round Saucer Chair with Carry Bag, Gray is the most comfortable chair ever!!!! It can be a little warm in the summer but its so comfy.
We purchased a 3 burner Camp Chef stove from costco in June, in July we got the Camp Chef Pizza Oven. OMG, this is a game changer. You don't have to be confined to the kitchen in the TT any more. I take care of the outside, my wife preps and cooks on the inside. Indoors/outdoors, cold or hot, its greeeaat. The pizza oven doubles as an outdoor over, roasting lamb, potatoes, baking bread. We have done pizza, Paella, lamb rib roasts, biscuits, bread, vegetables and other things. The three burners lets us cook whatever we need under the canopy. Just saying.....
We were at first very skeptical about a LP fireplace, but we have learned to really love ours. Ours is the Camco Little Red. Instant fire when you want it, instant off when you don’t. No smoke, no odor, and can be used anywhere. As mentioned, they do go thru a lot of LP, but when you factor in the price of firewood (They wanted six dollars for a small bundle this last summer at Glacier), not that much of a difference.
My Mom bought an electric grill that’s actually been great! It’s definitely not as good as cooking over wood or charcoal but it’s lightweight, easy to clean and doesn’t use any propane! Cost of convenience I guess but it’s been nice to have!
Love your videos!! Very helpful. We use the cgear mat outside our front door. It’s great! Especially with our dogs. We camp mostly in our local mountain range and we all bring lots of dirt and debris with us when returning to camp from day outings like fishing and hiking. The cgear mat catches all but pine needles and self cleans when storing. It also folds down into a small bag for storage. This mat makes our boondocking much more comfortable and keeps the trailer cleaner. I highly recommend it.
For a door mat, we went to a big box home improvement store and bought a 7 or 8 foot length of outdoor carpet. You roll it from the narrow side and it goes into your passthrough storage just fine. It is also 12-15' long depending on the width of the roll it came on.This way our entire under-awning area is carpeted.
Hey Jared, tell us more about your Blackstone griddle. How you transport (in truck)? How has it worked for you? I have recently been watching all your vids. They are the best. Keep them coming.
We love the blackstone griddle and use it often. We store it in the bay in our fifth wheel. We don’t have a ton of outside storage but this is something that we definitely take with us. I also don’t store anything in the back of the truck, just my personal preference. I know a lot of other people do store things there though.
A better tablecloth solution-a nice, thick, residential style vinyl cloth held secure with adjustable straps made for bedsheets. It will fit every table, and will never blow away.
Camp Chair: I was surprised, but I like the cheap director chairs at Wal-mart. They have a regular one and a large one. I got the large one and really enjoy it. They are the Ozark Trail brand. The regular is about $20 and the 'oversize' is $35. The reason I went with the oversized one is it is rated for 600 pounds. I figure that fives a huge capacity buffer so it should last a while. Even the regular one has a weight limit of 400 pounds.
Hands down the best camp chair is the Cabela's High-Back Ergo Chair Google that High back and has mesh so if it rains during the night and you forgot to put it away it won’t pool up with water. Order it today
@Woody SPOT ON!! I’ve had my Cabelas big boy mesh ergo chair for close to 15 years now!! Heavy add on but worth every pound lol. Costco chairs with the tray that comes up 2nd best lol
This is not about this video but I wanted you to know that we bought the Somosprings for our class A motor home, what difference it has made!!! Today we set out for warmer weather and we could tell right away the difference it made no swaying and a much smoother ride. It was definitely worth the money. And we used our 15% off using the code. Thank you for that 😊 Merry Christmas 🎄
As far as camp chairs, I find the ones like you showed, while they are light and fold up small, they aren't that comfortable to sit it, can be very difficult to get out of, and the cup holes don't work for larger cups. What I've found is the director's chair from Costco, Timber Ridge, is VERY comfortable and has a prop up side table that holds 30 oz cooler cups very well, and the newer ones even have a slot to hold your phone! And a camp MUST is their zero gravity recliner! It is VERY comfortable, and also has an attached side table. This thing is heaven after a long day!
I like everything you reviewed. Very good vid. I did not know about the awning clips or the burners. We use extra large camp chairs. They are like a chair and a half, very durable and comfortable with a high weight capacity. We got them at Menards.
Believe it or not, I like the good ol’ cheap directors chairs from Harbor Freight. Much lighter than zero grav chairs and pretty comfy especially if you have a cooler footstool or cheap Wally World chair to put your feet up. $35 but often on sale for less.
StrongBack chairs are extremely comfortable, especially if you have any lower back issues. They are built very well, are breathable, have a 3-year warranty and they fold down to standard bag-chair size. There are two downsides to them, however: (1) they’re a tad expensive and (2) they’re so comfortable, you’ll want to use them in the house when you are home!!

Thanks Jared for all your tech videos,... We glean so MUCH from you.. Praying for you & fam. Ken & Cathy of Campfire Journeys!! Clear Journeys in 2020 👀👓🔥🔥
Great vid, Jared. Please tell me you guys finally broke down and got chairs! In our never ending quest to lighten our load, Steve has suggested we get rid of my favorite King Camp Moon Saucer chairs...his argument is always “the Gillis’s live without chairs!” And not sure if you noticed, but I think the other guy was cheating at corn hole. 😊
We have a pet just like that and it's nice especially out in the backyard with the kids now if we go our van will put in the basement take it with us at this time it really is is enjoyable and the children love it and we don't need no real expensive pit
I had a portable propane firepit. It was hot and clean, but even on "low" I only got a couple of fires from a 20- lb. propane cylinder. I no longer carry one.
About folding chairs the first thing I am looking for in a good chair is: do the back of the arm rests have an adjustable strap to hold it in place. Nothing is more incomfortable than the back of the arm rest sliding down the post all the time.
When moving it's always changing. Some one way, some another, the fridge is fine. Most makers say if you can stand living in the RV then that's level enough. Doesn't take much precision!
Games: So many parks have mini-golf but you can never find an attendant to get clubs or balls. So I went to a pawn shop and got a couple of putters and a few golf balls. Now we can use the mini-golf when we want.

You still have to follow all the Rules but you may not need to have remote ID in the future that may limit many of the drones 150grams and above. That is if you are just flying for fun. It has a good quality camera on it for the price too.
Hey bud, I was looking at slide toppers. Remembered you did that install Mark and you were thinking about installing one. Did you decide to do or decide not worth it. What are the cons of it?
I would not recommend leaving the tabs that hold the party lights in the roller of the awning . I did that on my own awning and it was causing the layers of the awning material to come apart from each other . It would also leave an indention ( of where the tabs were) leaving me to believe they would have torn through the material. This is my personal opinion.

I believe that is an A&E system ..yes you can take the bottom of the arms loose from the bracket and stand it straight up .My last camper had that system and its nice to be able to do that so you dont have to walk around the arm ...seems the industry is getting away from that system
@@davemathieson2053 there is a lever on the bottom of the arm where it attaches to the side of the trailer ..push that down and lift the arm up and out
David Booth that I was aware of and saw Jared’s was the same as mine. Also had to replace lower arm when one broke first trip out.thanks for your help.
In Canada we get lots of bugs. Mosquitoes should be our national bird. And black flies will eat you alive. At least they have the decency to die when warm weather arrives. Bug tents are a must!! So are mosquito coils & other deterants. We just bought a Clam bug tent.
some camping neighbors, fabricated a fire pit, with a stove pipe, so the smoke doesn't create a problem..ever find a portable one like that ? a typical fire pit always has smoke blowing right in our face !!
Thank you for the propane fire pit idea. Just to make it clear. I am "undertalented" if you see what I mean when it's time to make a fire. Neither my wife nor me can start one. Even peper fire dye. I need friends to have a fire. LOL
We always put a bungee cord on each end of the picnic table to hold the cover on and works great!!
Thanks!
My husband has a Strong Back & loves it. I have a CGI Rocker & love that one. We also have a Nemo Stargazer for when we have the big open sky at night! All super comfy and strong. Check out the Member's Mark Portable Director's Chair. It folds up super compact and is very comfortable. I also came across a nearly identical design at Aldi's except it had a carry strap but that's a seasonal item.
I can recommend the Royal Commander camping chair. Super sturdy and comfy.
You def need to try the MAC Club chairs. They are a little bigger to store but so worth it!

Really like the "pan" firepit, with the mesh!
A picnic table cloth is also great for small vans, makes it clear you are using the campsite even if you take the van into town for supplies.
Very happy with our Browning Kodiak chairs.
We use Strongback chairs. A bit pricey but worth it for the lumbar support. Ours are sun faded as we use them every day but otherwise have held up great.

Kijaro folding chairs. They are much more supportive than most camp bag chairs yet store the same as other bag chairs.
EXCELLENT editing job on the cornhole bit!

KUMA Outdoor gear , Lazy bear chair , is what we use , have had many different chairs over the years and find these very comfy.

Have seen the lid for the blackstone?? It cooks burgers and steaks so much better with the lid.
Yes, some of our friends have that but we currently don’t have one.
Jared, thanks for an interesting and entertaining video. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
We have been checking out new 5th wheels and they have LED outdoor lights everywhere. It's like rave when you turn them all on.

Absolutely!
Zero gravity chairs or lounges.... had ours over 5 years
Thanks for the video.
Strongback chairs, we love ours. RV Love did a video on them.
Check out Strongback chairs. They are pricey but they will save your back.
I had a portable propane firepit. It was hot and clean, but even on "low" I only got a couple of fires from a 20- lb. propane cylinder. I no longer carry one.
Good information
Is there a link to the exact corn hole set in this video? It looks like a combo with washer toss.
About folding chairs the first thing I am looking for in a good chair is: do the back of the arm rests have an adjustable strap to hold it in place. Nothing is more incomfortable than the back of the arm rest sliding down the post all the time.
Another vote for the GCI Outdoor Freestyle Rocker Mesh Chair, available on Amazon and at Dick's Sporting Goods for a little less.
Thanks for the recommendation, we’ll check them out.
good video
I hear the Strongback chairs are comfortable
I didn’t have a rv yet but I heard that your fridge had to be level to work, so what do you do when your driving down the road.

some camping neighbors, fabricated a fire pit, with a stove pipe, so the smoke doesn't create a problem..ever find a portable one like that ? a typical fire pit always has smoke blowing right in our face !!
Thank you for the propane fire pit idea. Just to make it clear. I am "undertalented" if you see what I mean when it's time to make a fire. Neither my wife nor me can start one. Even peper fire dye. I need friends to have a fire. LOL
