Mike Bettes was right though cause look what happened to Team Twistex. Tim Samaris was wicked smart and he knew how to chase tornados. Tim and Carl chased tornados for years but the El Reno tornado was different from every other tornado they chased. What I don't get is Tim and Carl was always in a big truck chasing tornados. Why did he switch to a tiny Chevy Colbalt and yet put his son in that kind of dangerous environment ? I'll never understand why he switched to a smaller vehicle. R.I.P. Everybody knows their truck who has watched storm chasers so maybe they just wanted to be incognito?

All of the chasers that do a job that terrifies 90% of the population, is a very significant sacrifice. You save lives every time you put yours at risk. @@djamo1969 It was downgraded but me witnessing that tornado first hand, it was the scariest experience of my life and just by the shear rotation I witnessed, it was well within the ef5 range. One of the satellite tornadoes alone was measured by Doppler radar in the area at over 300 mph. Luckily we dropped south about a mile east of notorious Reuter rd. In hind site, going east was the play but everyone was just caught off guard by it widening and turning all at once. Luckily for us, we had an addition mile between us and the tornado to, really, make the wrong decision of going south and narrowly escaping. The time frame in which we dropped south was about 5 minutes after the twistex team dropped south which if we had made the same turn that they did would have meant we’d be dead and that haunts me to this day because we drove past Reuter rd and debated on taking it.
