The Model 1854 chambered in .357 Magnum looks like a perfect blend of classic design and modern power. Excited to see how it performs-great for both collectors and shooters!
I wonder if smith and wesson is actually making these or simply outsourcing the work to another company since they never made lever actions before. Or did they buy new equipment and factory space to make the rifles.
So S&W calls it the 1854 as a reference to the Volcanic pistol which became the Henry and Winchester. But this S&W rifle is based on Marlin design so the name makes no sense.
Reinvent the wheel, what? First off S&W invented the .357 magnum round.. And- Winchester, Browning, Rossi (just to name a few) and other firearm manufacturers have been making a .357 magnum lever action for over 60 years.
Bought the 44 magnum, no regrets. Smith & Wesson to infinity and beyond.
Please offer 460 s&w and 500 magnum next!
Looked at these the other day and love the fact they are using hex head screws in the receiver!
Amazing how much more innovative and successful leaving New England has made them.
I was literally thinking last night… I wish they had this model in .357 mag. I’m getting this.

these are made in-house with the receivers forged on the same forges that run all of our revolvers

I hate suppressors but that's my opinion
