He had an ability to connect so deeply to the piano in a way I have never seen anyone do before. This is just pure force of nature. No one can take an eye of him whole he does this beauty.

The man was made of steel. Too bad the performance was clipped by the filmmaker. Lack of respect for both performer and music. Silly that the filmmaker, towards the end, focuses on the filming itself rather than what matters: the pianist.
Most likely this is it,,,,,,demonstration of latest technology made for the general public and possibly also a propaganda exercise of the Cold War era.

Besides the display of technology, there is the scene of the (presumably) extended Muscovite family (looking very bourgeois, certainly anything but revolutionary) with their elegant apartment, table filled with cakes, fruit, and full wine glasses--none of which was in evidence when I spent two months in the USSR in 1970. But Richter soars above it all, as he usually did, inviting the Russian people (and even these actors) to touch their humanity through great music.

This video is amazing, the cameraman has the courage to show off the Hitler´s moustache in the URRS. I think Ritcher´s technic it´s so hard. ninety nine of one hundred pianist who try those ams fall can get a some kind of injury. It´s possible his protean technic is the result of a survival in a hard times.
