Bought a new XC 850 switchback last year. Absolutely love it.
I do kind of wish I had the option to get a 650 and a 137 track. I do ride tight trails half the time I ride, so a little shorter would be nice. Then riding up in the UP on the wide trails. Rode with someone on a 650 and under 90, they were right there the whole day. They also went through quite a bit less fuel.

Yes the 137 is a perfect trail sled. The 650 has been really impressive for fuel mileage and feels similar to the old 800 engines.

I haven't rode in 20 years. Last time I rode it was a 99 polaris xc sp 600. If it ever snows again up here 😒 I was thinking about a xc 650. However now I'm more interested in a switchback xc 850. Which sled would be best for playing around in ditches? I used to like riding fast and jumping but also slowing down to play in the deeper stuff. On the switchback, which track would you prefer? The 1.35 or 1.6?

Both the 650 and 850 engines are reliable and powerful. In deeper snow the Switchback XC will outshine a VR1 or Indy XC. For loose or deep snow the 1.6 track will be perfect.

I bought a 98 RMK 700 last winter , first sled in 20 plus years, got hooked all over again I ended up ordering a 23 xcr 850, night and day difference between new and old sleds , I tell you I do not regret buying it, I just picked it up Saturday, it’s a superior piece of machinery.

Hate the seats do the6 offer a better seat for long rides for the maytrix .

The only other seat is the heated seat for the sled it is the same shape but it is slightly softer than the stock seats.

Thanks for the review. IMOP, I still think they look like a Praying Mantis. But that is what the OEMs like these days.

Yeah all of the sleds have changed quite a bit in looks over the past few years. Once you drive one you will no longer be worried about looks, the ride and power is amazing on the new Polaris sleds. If you get the chance I highly recommend driving one.
