vlog 59. Day In my Life: Work/Life Balance as a Lawyer, Meetings, Remote Work & Live Music Shows

All work and no play makes Jack (or Loyiso) and dull boy (or girl). This is certainly true for most of us in our demanding fields of work.
We get so consumed by all the stressors and day to day deadlines, meetings, deliverables, invoices and everything in between, that we forget (or in certain instances, refuse) to let our hair down and live a little. And by that I do not mean the mere consumption of alcohol - I think we can all agree that there is always a copious amount of alcohol in the mix at all times in our professions- I mean actually enjoying yourself, meeting new people, seeing new hotspots in your city, forgetting about anything related to your chosen vocation.
I made a few resolutions at the start of this year as most of you know, and striving for a balance between my life and my work was almost right at the top of that list. I love live music, the theatre, going to art exhibitions, travelling and checking out new eateries. I'm determined to do at least one of these activities once a week, and so far so good!
I hope this inspires you to find things that you love doing and that give you that feeling of letting your hair down too! I feel like we will be better (and more well-rounded) young profession because of it. #Lawyer #dayinthelife #southafricanyoutuber
