I have a lot of friends that work in gaming studios that have been using Blender on AAA games like Deathloop 🤙🏿

I have some interesting information to share! I graduated from college earlier this year and currently working professionally as a 3D professional using Blender. I have two specific intersting notes.
Firstly, for my college thesis, I ran an audit of the animation/VFX/games industry by doing a data analysis on 10 thousand job listings in the industry over the last year. In terms of market demand for 3D software experience, Maya still remains as the top dog. But recently, Blender has significantly surpassed in deman from Cinema 4D to where it's no competition. And as someone that has worked in both Blender and Cinema 4D, I 100% see why. Cinema 4D is a great software but I personally believe Blender is designed so much better and has a much better ecosystem.
The second bit of information I have is that Blender is actively/growing as an industry standard in very unconventional ways. What was described in the video is agencies/studios that grt hired on by advertising companies or larger brands to make motion design or advertising (which is the typical though process of 3D implementation). What a lot of people don't know is the opportunities found in manufacturing, product rendering, and architectural visualization. I'm currently an in house rendering artist for a product manufacturer and I make renderings for the different products we make for marketing. While it's not super glamorous like making animations, but it's still extremely important for a bunch of house keeping items for the company. Basic product imagery gets used anywhere from the website to spec sheets to advertising and so in. Additionally, it's a dramatic shift from what the company was doing before. Before I came to my company, all product renderings were done by the engineers in Solid Works and each render would take like an hour to render out (this is compared to me doing renders now that take anywhere from 2-5 min!).
TL;DR Blender is an extremely valuable tool for a lot of businesses even if they don't know it. A lot of places that have inhouse 3D production have either had it for a really long time and are stuck with Cinema4D or are new to the game and are investing into Blender like my workplace is. If you're looking for your first job, going into product render for a place that might now have an inhouse pipeline yet may be a good option because you can just bring/establish Blender as a standard there

Bandit Mill is making Boxtown using blender and some of the newest additions have honestly revolutionized the way we are working. Here's to hoping for a blender filled future

In the games industry, Blender is almost the standard now. So many are now using it due to the speed and addons like hard ops and decal machine

For those wondering, there is now a Blender conference talk from the team who worked on Spiderverse about how they used Blender Grease Pencil in their animation pipeline.

Industry standard like Maya or Cinema 4d ? So Cinema (motion graphics) 4d was used in more films than 3ds max ?

Please don't do that split-screen style. It's too distracting off topic and hard to concentrate. This is not TikTok, this is superior place where people can keep attention to the video.
