It is all important to remind your horse of the bond you have by engaging his/her mind with activity. Bareback riding is one way of accomplishing this task!
Rode 99% of the time from age 4... Didnt have saddles... Finally got a western pony saddle. About killed my siblings.... Shetlands are crazy sometimes. Got too big obviously and rode other 2 horses bareback... Much easier to get off if you needed too! I loved it.
