Never apologize for not being brutal with decluttering, you bought all this with your own money, get what you can out of them lol always a joy to see you 💜
I'm so happy to see you back here! I love following you on Instagram, but I have to say I missed your lovely voice, and its so nice to get to hear your opinions and thoughts again. I hope you're having a lovely week ♡
I went through all my makeup and while I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't let go of more, I am now reframing it as a gentle declutter. I have been saving some of your videos to watch later when I realized you had been gone a while, but today, while I am trying to declutter, straighten, and reorganize my space since I am feeling too sick for anything more strenuous, seems to be the rainy day I was saving it for.
I've come to believe that the best sunscreen is the one you'll wear every day in a thick enough layer to work, even if it's a lower spf. Better an spf 15 every day than a dot of spf 50 sometimes, you know?
I did a massive declutter the other day, now I have just 5 palettes, 1 highlighter, 3 blushes, 2 lipglosses, 4 lipsticks, 1 powder and 1 concealer and tbh if I'm gonna add more stuff it's gotta make me ascend into heaven.
Really enjoyed this. Last year I finally reverted to being a base product minimalist (after years of trying to use loads of product categories I don't like). Now I just use Smashbox/Becca undereye corrector (mine is the same as the original... weird) and Lily Lolo Mineral powder foundation. I don't know why I chased concealer and foundation when I don't even like the way they look or feel on me 🤦♀️
Just when you are ready too look for a replacement, my current fave is the isntree spf. To me it feels like a moisturizer , and i have dry ish skin. For when i want something even more moisturizing i'm using the reformulated one from purito. ( after the scandal). Isntree i also tested and loved at the beach so it seems to be right amount of spf. I've also loved ultraviolette spfs ( all of them but especially the supreme and queen screen) but I can't bring myself to pay double than the isntree one . I was looking at my base products this day, i have 2 pressed 1 loose 1 foundation two tinted moisturizers and 3 concealers. I decided to declutter nothing for now . I also have the nars concealer , but in the shade honey. I bought it to replace the becca under eye effect and I just love it .
adding that instree spf to my list of things to try, thank you! i'll also add your idea of the nars concealer in a different shade, that would honestly suit my needs so well! genius repurposing
Nars pot concealer I bought this year and yeah that shit is worth the hype I was annoyed as well. Nars I tend to avoid because I have a terrible time trying to shade match myself. Thank you farmer sun cream is such a good sunscreen. It blends in like moisturizer, doesn't give a white cast and sits so well under makeup or by itself. Its have to always order it online but that stuff is gold to me. And yeah Milani isn't affordable for anyone but Americans to be honest. In Canada its like 13-20 dollars for anything Milani.
i had the opportunity to swatch the nars stuff in store when i went on a trip, and jotted down what my shades were for later purchases haha milani is almost sephora prices here, it's ridiculous...
I just had to toss away all my fake eyelashes. I just do not use them, I have zero patience for that stuff, I hate the feeling of spiky crap this close to my eyeballs (sometimes eyelashes get into my eyes and the pain is excrutiating, I'm super sensitive to that feeling), even if I try to cut the excess they do not feel comfortable, I just... NO. I'm not a fake eyelash person, I have to accept it and deal with what I have!

thank you!!! i still felt the need to disclaim just so people know what to expect when watching haha
This!! I absolutely agree, there’s no need to get rid of stuff unless it actively brings you misery haha.
So excited to see you posting again
thank you!!! i miss being more active but unfortunately my job squeezed me for all it was worth these past two months :(
@@MiaRBeauty i get you. Ive been job hunting post uni and that alones been exhausting me
@@avisicarus42 i'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!

thank you so much, i hope you've had a great week so far too
We missed you. ❤
missed you too!
I loved this whole concept! If makeup creates a feeling then it better bring joy. I am taking this as my new philosophy.
thank you Gretchen! it's honestly much freeing to declutter like this vs feeling pressured to be ruthless for the sake of it

I am glad this helped a little. I hope you get better soon and feel better ❤️ take care of yourself!
I love a good, thoughtful declutter! Love that you focus more on panning than getting rid of stuff (and I think I’ll have to steal your label idea!)
it's honestly very useful to have everything labeled, i don't have to keep track of what's expiring anymore because i know at a glance
"I don't want to suffer anymore!" LOL words to live by sister!
hahaha thanks Mariam!
I have really enjoyed the video, this gentle declutter has been very relaxing to watch. Great to see you back, what a treat ☺️.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you ❤️

you're so right! consistency is better than anything
Hey Mia; I did get my Tang Romance palette and even when I don't open it it still makes me happy. Thanks for the recommendation of my new love. ❤
im so happy it sparks joy for you!

i'm envious to be honest, sounds like such a nice and manageable collection

to be fair maybe I got a dud, as I didn't buy it from the official website but a local makeup site....so who knows.

@@MiaRBeauty Glad to share! I got this ideea on reddit while complaining about the panning of the becca on panporn

Hi, mia.try the konmari method to declutter.touch each item.does it spark joy?
Do you actually use it?if not,out it goes.
i always apply a variation of the konmari method with everything that enters and exits my house :) ❤️
Screaming at the Queen of the Damned reference... by any chance have you seen AMC's adaptation of IWTV?
i haven't yet but i do plan to!! do you like it?
I don't even bother labeling stuff but probably should since I have a ton of stuff and can't remember what is expired or old.
I find it relaxing 😌 i may love labels a lil too much
@Mia's Virtual Vanity nothing wrong with being organized. Mine is not at all.

i can respect that, honestly i can't be bothered with fake lashes either
