Interesting setup for testing you got there! I've found that if you don't care too to much about sound quality, these small amplifier boards from China really gives a lot of amplifier power for very little money and with high efficiency. In the past I've run a cheap pair of 15" PA speakers with a similar board powered by two old deep cycle lead-acid batteries at Roskilde festival. With the music going at very high volume for almost round the clock the batteries could still last a whole week
That brings me back, in an instant to Roskilde in 2005 I think? We had a T-amp in our camp and it was a revolution compared to the old car stereos or ghettoblasters that was common. I think we have the exact same setup with discman as seen here: 6moons.com/audioreviews/sonicimpact/t.html
If we have this board (or similar) is there a way to lower the distortion? I have a non bluetooth from a couple of years ago and I feel like it may be good enough for a boombox project but any way to improve it will always be a plus. Any other type of boards you can find on aliexpress that you'd recommend?
when is playing music from TF card, can you change the song? I dont see any button. Maybe connecting new buttons to holes vol+/- that are near the TF reader?
I have the same board, but have a problem playing through the minijack input. If I turn on the Amp with the minijack connected the Amp doesnt play. I have to unplug and plug the minijack in again before it starts playing. Somebody knows how to solve this problem?
I had the same problem, and solved it, by trying it out. The solution is to interrupt the first two connections on the left and right of the print jack plug and put a switch between them. With a connection from right to left circuit board. That left leg is separate from the circuit board and the switch is connected to the circuit board. Sorry for my bad english, I am Dutch

Return it to the seller and demand a refund. My own experience with different kinds of these cheap amplifiers is that they are manufactured way too cheap, there is too many errors or perhaps low quality reject components used in them.
I am using the same amplifier board with 24v 10 amp SMPS for 2 * 40w (4 ohm) woffer and 1* piezo tweeter connected parralel on each chanell but the amplifier is tripping alot when I increase volume a bit or when the bass beats comes in music. I tried connecting speakers in series but the problem presists I am now very frustrated what can I do now to solve this problem.
Is it possible that they used a cheap version of this ic from another manufacturer? That could also explain the measured THD. But I'm not into audio at all. I don't know if there are cloned audio amplifiers.
@@KaizerPowerElectronicsDk I suspect the use of ceramic capacitors in the signal path is to blame. Could upgrade them to film caps, but since the Bluetooth part most likely doesn't support any of the HD codecs, that would remain the bottleneck anyways...

That is because of cheap inductors on this board, which is the major distortion source of Class-D Amplifier.
suggestions in how to replace for higher quality inductors?

is there a way to reset these boards. Most of the time doesn't detect on bluetooth as well as aux.
I find that it is my phone that has trouble connecting to previously known units, but maybe it is a general flaw in BT units

Did you check the thermal paste maybe it's overheating
Use 8 oms load
this board features with thermal protection so better use 8ohms load and check if the IC TDA7498 is reaching around 140 degrees before the trip.

I think it is more likely to be bad circuit layout or components around the chip than a cheap/reject version chip.

What signal generator are you using? Maybe the distortion comes from there.
The signal is from the analyzer. With itself in loop it is 0.07% THD
I have one but does not work, only a rattle is heared from amp.

TDa 7498 good chip this board bad
Terrible chip IMO. Used in FX1602S and LP1601S amps. For $10 it's fine, but not for $100+. I'm more of a TPA fanboy.
