    Great walkthrough Cat, our non profit is moving to Office 365 and we'll start using Teams so, thank you 😂😊

    The API key is a newer feature released as part of a rolling update, so not everyone got it at the same time. It would also be nice if Microsoft would be a LITTLE clearer on which release a feature is in instead of the cryptic "future updates rolling out soon". I get that they don't want to commit to exactly when but it would be nice to be able to know when our lottery (version) number is finally a winner. Love your channel!

    Is it possible to make stream deck to change to a program and THEN execute the action. Like "change to zoom and then mure"?

    I need to change the API token but cant find the place for it inside stream deck. Did uninstall the plugin, but no way to enter the new Teams API token...it must have cached the old token...

    I had the same non visible api problem on Mac. After deleting Teams caches twice, relaunching Teams thrice it finally appeared 😅

    Can you setup a key to automatically Share Screen on a Teams call?

    Teams-Plugin: I cannot enter the API into the Stream Deck because the line "API Token:" does not show up, title only. What's wrong?

      Same with my issue. Anyone knows how to solve this?

    Great tips (as always).
    FYI: BarRaider's (excellent) Windows Mover & Resizer plugin has an option to make a window/program active. Perhaps that can be used in the multi-action you suggested.

    Find API: Open (Desktop) Teams App -> Settings (three dots upper right) -> Privacy -> (scroll to bottom) Third Party App API -> Manage API -> Enable API . . . cut and paste (or generate) API token for Stream Deck. Does that work for you?

      Unfortunately no. I heard if you have teams business or school, the API shows there.

    Thanks Cat, really appreciated you doing a video on this. I've been trying to get my Stream Deck working with Teams since it first came out; gave up and your video made me look at it again. Shortcuts just didn't work for me as the Teams window had to be on top for anything to work; and it never was. Anyway, I've finally got it working! First I checked if I had the latest desktop version (1.6.00.6754). I didn't even though I had clicked the button for the latest update! Uninstalled and downloaded again from Microsoft. Version now correct. The Third-party app API option still wasn't available, so I closed MS Teams completely (right-clicked the icon on the taskbar and selected quit) and then right-clicked the desktop icon and selected Run as administrator. The Third-party app API option was now available. I then copied and pasted the key into Stream Deck and I now have it working. Well to be fair it's showing up correctly on the Stream Deck - I'll find out whether it can mute my mic while I'm on a different window on a call this afternoon 😃

    I don't think this can work with the "new" Teams ... but I hope they figure out support for that now, since Microosft is pushing (hard) on getting people to move from regular teams to New Teams.

      I setup my stream deck mk.2 with the MS Teams plugin and connected to the new MS Teams on my windows machine. The plugin did not have the API key input field and when I went to the MS Teams I had to enable API integrations. A pop up on my PC asked to confirm that I allowed Streamdeck to integrate with MS Teams. All the plugin keys work as stated.

      @@toddbaumann9521 no kidding! ... okay, I'm going to try again. It didn't seem to work a few months ago when I first tried.

      Did it work? @@JameHealy

    • @JameHealy
      @JameHealy Місяць тому

      @@DrdaantjeGaming unfortunately, not yet. I know Microsoft is very busy (and keen to) ensure there is "feature parity" between the "new" Teams (and "new" Outlook, for that matter) with their older versions.

    I'm using OBS as my virtual camera . . . and I cannot advance PowerPoint slides using Stream Deck unless the PowerPoint window is the active window. That is a bit clumsy. Any tips or suggestions?

    • @CatMulvihill
      @CatMulvihill  Рік тому

      If you are on a Mac, there is a PPT plugin that should control the slides in the app regardless of whether it's active. I don't believe there is a Windows plugin, unfortunately.
      I do agree it's clumsy. Since OBS Stream Deck keys work even with OBS in the background, I would get into the habit of making PPT your active window so you are controlling that while presenting and trusting the Stream Deck to manage your OBS scenes while it's in the background.
      It's on my wishlist to have a Stream Deck Hot Key action where you choose the app, then the hotkey, and it only works on that app regardless of it it's active.
