    Julian, I think we can all agree that life, and railways, throw up unexpected challenges, and the trick is to roll with it/them. If it was just about creating the perfect model, it might be possible to plan out every detail in advance, but I suspect most of us are storytellers and thus the challenges help fill out our plots. And you, it seems to me, are one of those storytellers who incorporate changes into the tale. I just know that I will enjoy seeing how you resolve these issues, and come up with great solutions.

    I've said it before; you've got an excellent eye for spatial design Julian! The way you've angled the pub and with the crater/building site next to it - looks very convincing. Thoroughly enjoyed this. Joachim

      Thank you Joachim for your kind feedback. The Pub/Demolition area was one of those awkward spaces where I didn't think another building next to the pub would have worked, hence how the demolished building scenario came about. Cheers, Julian.

    Hi Julian, great to see you brave the conditions for us! 😜 🥶 🧣 ☕️
    I wondered how you were going to tackle this section, but had no idea (as did you I suspect!) that it would be that involved! 😜 I have always been reasonably meticulous about the track plans but beyond that, the rest has always been a bit...er...vague! 😂 I rarely stick exactly to a draft of any plan and inevitably end up drawing up about four or five major revisions to the scenery, occasionally changing the track plan considerably! 🙄
    But as you say, it is part of the fun because I sincerely believe that some things are left ‘open’ until you have actually started building or make a substantial mock-up. And the idea of removing bits so you can bugger off to the warmth indoors instead of getting a nasty backache is a solid idea indeed! 👍
    Look forward to the next instalment mate 😎🍻🍀

    I like the morf method, it follows my theory about modeling, like real life nothing is permanent, great video thankyou

    Hi Julian..You’ve done what the pioneers did “Adapt & Overcome” it’s not a problem just another challenge thank you for taking the time to film edit and upload another brilliant video 👍

      Thank you so kindly John. I quite enjoy the problem-solving aspects encountered in railway modelling, it gets the old grey matter ticking over, and when a solution is reached, it's quite rewarding. Sometimes the solutions come about quickly, and other times it can take days or weeks.

    I have made a plan using a computer program called Scram. I know before I even start laying it (Later this year as the room is still occupied) it will not go to plan, but that is all part of the fun. I am not sure if yours is a Layout or a complicated Train puzzle. Good luck with the scenery. Martin (Thailand)

    Great to see some developments on Station Road. My layout is “evolving “ and probably always will. It’s not as complex as yours (yet), but who knows in time? Always think I’ve worked out what I want to do with an area, but walk away and envision something else the following day. That’s what keeps it interesting I guess. We’re moving into warmer weather here now, so less time in the loft to work. Still lots to do though. Look forward to seeing your next update. Thanks for sharing, Roy.

      Thank you Roy. 2014 when this layout began I could easily say it was a simple layout, so time definitely has a way of making a layout grow in size and complexity. Railway modelling to me is a bit like going on a trip, I focus less on the destination, and more on the journey had.

    I know what you mean about proper preplanning. My layout had a station one one side and a fiddle yard on the opposite side., Recently I decided to switch them round while leaving the goods yard untouched. It was a trial making all the changes!"

    • @StationRoadModelRailway
      @StationRoadModelRailway 3 роки тому

      Thanks Les. When it comes to changes on the layout, big or small, sometimes they just can't be foreseen during planning, and it's not until things are in place that changes might be required.
