Thats a standard I hold a lot of board games to. "Would this be dramatically better as an app or videogame?" If the answer is yes, I usually pass and hope a digital version will be made later on. All games have a little tedium but the ones that spend a LOT of time on fiddly bits get a pass from me
@@fuki_slam Large games aren't realistically any more overwhelming than Clue or Monopoly. They're largely procedural, and you just take a series of steps in the same order repeatedly. The actions may change slightly, but it boils down to learning a few actions and then repeating those actions.
Personally, I find Between Two Castles to be the best of the Mad King Ludwig games. It's got similar tile laying to Palace, but instead of one giant board, each player is building 2 smaller castles, but the twist is that those castles are shared with the players neighbors on each side. And as final score is what a player's lower scoring castle is, you can't sabotage one side, but have to work with your partners to make sure both sides are built up equally while also trying to get them to lopside their castles so they have less points in the end.
Seems a bit like trying to one-up Carcassonne by adding in additional scoring tables and economies. I'm not always convinced that's the best way to go, but then again I am a filthy boardgame casual
I saw the little pile of discs and got worried... it's a shame this one seems a bit more complicated than from what I've come to expect after Castles and even Suburbia
Please make a video about Dice Forge. It's a resource management game based on luck, but with a unique system that allows you to customize your dice to make them more powerful. By the way, very good video as usual ;)
At my job as a Chef I smell each food item before giving it to waitres. I sniff as hard as possibl so I can smell your food before you eat it. Sometimes my nose touches your food if I get to close. You are eating food that has been sniffed by me as hard as possi
Cannot recommend this game enough. It's become a pleasant staple in our game group, to come back to every now and then
Seems like this game could really benefit from being digitalised

Rightside up the building on the Box looks like a mansion, but upside down it looks like a castle.

Does this "king Ludwig" happen to be a really short guy who was known as the "golden boy of twitch"
Lol

Where's the Werner Herzog voice

A palace is not a castle, because it is not fortified.
Carcassonne for madmans
I absolutely love Between Two Castles of Mad King Ludwig, only partially due to its amazing box design. I might have to try this one at some point.

Ludwig was a chill guy, he liked rave parties.
Seems like a lot of fun
