problem with historians is that they are never happy with we dont know?. In anycase, in Indian tradition teachings mattered more than remembering the dates and history. advantages, disadvantages.
very boring and biased lecture , rather than coming up with facts the speaker wants to disprove antiquity of jainism by giving reference from passages of different scriptures of those times, he unsuccessfully tries to dwarf mahaveera and attribute all the principles of jainism to others schools of shramana paths of those times. briefly he is just short of saying that makkali ghoshala was 24 th tirthankara.
The very word Aaseevagam means Siramaanam-hard effort (Sramanic) tradition , the meaning is Aasu- Ask , Eevu- solution and Agam- a spot . It started with the siddha like people giving solution to common people and bringing them to eternal life!
Very much enlightening and well researched. Thanks for the upload.
Jainism has no beginning, and no end! Jainism (Jain Dharma), is ETERNAL !
Good knowledge on Aaseevagam , he needs to come down to the Tamizh regions for better knowledge on this ancient path of the Tamizhs..
