The framing here is utterly brilliant, the blocking of Maya and the out-of-focus ducks seem to imply their schism as she occupies and dominates the right of the frame. The distance between them is clearly a motif, as the ducks flee from the scene. And the pool, well it just writes itself. Will the ducks have their pool party? Only time will tell.

They have very little human contact in domestic spaces so it's most likely that this particular dog is the bottom of the pack in regards to the other dogs. With how friendly all of the other animals are, it's VERY unlikely that any of them are mistreated. Maya wouldn't stand for it if they were.
