Thank you Mr KaranThapar and Mr Shashi Tharoor. Have not only enjoyed your conversation, but have enriched my vocabulary. .... going to a temple doesn't make you a Hindu any more than standing in a garage makes you a car ... "All aren't saints that go to a church." We all have two types of vocabulary accounts in our brain. The first is Active Words Account. Words we understand and can use in writing and speaking. The second is Passive Words Account. Words we had read or heard and cannot use them in writing or speaking because we haven't cared to understand their meaning. Any amount of words in this account are of no purpose because we cannot use them.
My father's English and vocabulary was so, so vast that when he wrote a letter to someone they didn't understand word of it. Even we children had to refer to Dictionary again and again.😊
What an absolute pleasure listening to this though I have heard some of the stories in earlier talks it’s always music to ears listening to Dr. Shashi Tharoor and witty Karan Thapar!! Great destressor
What a beautiful interview. I must say that nobody has interviewed Dr. Tharoor like Mr. Thapar does. They both appear as such a good friends on and off the screen and that makes their conversation delightfully engrossing! Much love to both Mr. Thapar and Dr. Tharoor, you shape our brains!
When ever Shashi speaks i tend to smile feeling lost in admiration, also realising my limitation being a drop out hardly grasping 10% of what he actually mean. But i just adore him. Also karan is another person i admire and respect a lot.
Mr. Tharoor and Mr. Thapar both belong to another league altogether. One can spend an entire Sunday afternoon listening to these gentleman chat. Thank you Mr. Thapar for this.
Watching it from Bangladesh. In the recent times, while many media outlets made me worried, The Wire, on the other hand, increased my hopes. Amazing conversation! Best wishes!
We, the listeners, can use more such playful yet immersive conversations, when all we are exposed to are noises from traditional media houses. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
If there's one thing certain about English pronunciation it is that there is almost nothing certain about it. No other language in the world has more words spelled the same way and yet pronunced differently. Bill Bryson
'It is rain that grows grass and not thunder ', true alchemist changes metal into gold, a writer changes world into words, Mr Sasi Tharoor is the one and only 'English man' who can roast the English men in their bastion, his Oxford Union speech literally made the people of Union Jack to lick the dust!
Shashi Tharoor should be our foreign or Education minister. Both he will do excellent job. If he is our PM he will increase respect for India in the world.
Simply sheer pleasure to listen to these two gentlemen. I want to support and wish and pray you continue your wonderful work forever, Karan. Let me try again.
I can only envy you, completely awestruck. It’s aleays delightful to to watch two English stalwarts Both of you shall remain my favourites for all the time
The treasure of words u have got haven't changed or helped the world whereas people who have got fewer words have made slogans of their words and impressed the world with them. So only words with which u can change the world and it's thinking matter ❤# shashitharoor# karanthaper

Jai Hind sir. Decent analysis on english language between India and America or Britain. Language differs in accent and in words accordingly that can be seen in each and every nation.
Loved every bit, every second of this interview. I wish I could use some spponerism to describe how delightful it was lsitening to both of these gentelmen.
While this unsettling fascination with "fluency" in the English language (as opposed to the quality of content that is expressed)- which is frequently observed in 7 out of 10 people at the very least, here in India- has done Dr. Tharoor a lot of good, I wish people focussed more on his wonderful insights and clarity of thought .
What a delightful conversation between these two wordsmiths!
Make Shashi Tharoor the Education Minister. We all should speak like him. Wow! What beautiful words.
Mk him pm
In fact he is Prime Minister material. A la Mr Manmohan Singh, good PM but a long shot from politician.
He should be external affairs minister!
We should make him PM of India
It would b very happy for everyone if he becomes the pm
He was minister of state for Education. What did he actually do?
Thank you Mr KaranThapar and Mr Shashi Tharoor.
Have not only enjoyed your conversation, but have enriched my vocabulary.
