Just picked up the XT 8Fs for the basement set up. But these Tannoys are incredible. I use an MA5200 for my 70th Anniversary K Horns in my main setup with a PS Audio DS Sr. DAC. Love my MA5200. Great for efficient speakers, 100W is plenty. Efficient speakers is the way to go.
I will being using the exact same speakers and amp, excluding the cd player and interconnects , and speaker cable of course. The speakers will be here in a few days and the amp in a few weeks. Nice video.Update. They are the most beautiful, best sounding speakers I have ever heard or seen. Worth every dollar.Update. I decided to pair the Tannoy with a Luxman amp. The dealer made me a deal I couldn't turn down. Also many of his customers are trading their McIntosh amps for Luxman. Not sure why, but they appear to work better with Tannoy and other speaker brands.
@@FlowithdaGo Sorry for the delay. The Tannoy Gold Sterling's are the finest speakers I own. I pair them with a Luxman amplifier and Luxman phono pre amp. Vinyl sounds heavenly. Have them set up in dedicated listen room with my home theater setup. I have some improvements to make, but at the moment I cannot describe adequately how wonderful they sound. As I improve the acoustics and interconnects with various other tweaks I will share the experience. Just a side note. Garbage in garbage out. Unless you are serious about sound don't waste your money on cheap recordings or source components. Acoustic Sounds are a good source for quality vinyl.

I am buying the new tannoy cheviot speakers (upgrading from revolution xt 6f) and I am thinking of buying the ma5200 to go with it (upgrading from Yamaha a-s 801) do you think these would be good friends?
i've never had the opportunity to listen to the Cheviot, so i cannot give an useful advise. On paper, the high damping factor of the MA5200 should be ideal to control the Cheviot demanding big woofers. Please let me know if it's a simple friendship or an everlasting love ;-)
COME ON A YAMAHA A-S 801 REALLY. HORRIBLE SOUNDING. YOU GUYS ARE CLUELESS ABOUT SOUND.SO BASICALLY YOU WILL BE ON A SCALE 1-10 A 4 BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT YOUR YAMAHA IS. SO IF YOU HAVE THE BEST SPEAKERS ON THE PLANET YOU WILL STILL BE AT A 4. REALLY MAN COME ON GET A DECENT TUBE AMP.

Did you ever upgrade to the Cheviot? Was it a worthy upgrade from the XT 6F?
