    Try fried tofu puffs. Different texture but saves all the steps you had taken with soft tofu :)...sesame oil you should only drizzle at end. It doesnt have a high smoke point. Plus the sesame oil tastes amazing if not cooked.

    Looks fabulous, Craig!! I also love Rainbow Plant Life (Nisha)!! She’s awesome and I love when she has her hilarious parents to taste tests! You did a great job with the preparation and presentation-yum wish I could try it too! Also, I’ve never cooked with those ingredients either (gochugan and and goobledeguk (sp))😅lol but I’m definitely going to look for them so I can try this! You rock! Great job on all accounts!👌♥️🥰✨🙌👏👍

    Thank you so much for pronouncing the Korean spices correctly. I’m of Korean descent and I’ve seen content creators butcher the pronunciations. I enjoyed the reviews from your family so much I enjoy Rainbow Plant Life’s recipes as well. I was inspired today to buy some broccoli and plan to make this dish this week. 🫶🏼

    Sounds great ! I have used mirin since I was a kid. And i'm way older than you😊. The brand that everybody used was in about a 1/2. A gallon jug 45 ninety nine and that's now about thirty five dollars. I'm gonna try to make my own. I'm hungry I wish I was getting food delivered. Thanks for this it looks really good.🌱🥦✨️🐾

    Wow Craig that's an amazing response. It does look good. The mirin is a low alcohol rice wine that is sometimes used to season sushi rice.

    • @gomezaddams6470
      @gomezaddams6470 11 місяців тому +1

      That's what I always used instead of vinegar sugar salt all that. I never understood people wanting the sushi rice to taste like vinegar. You're honestly the first person in many years of been a chef a vegan chef to say that.😊

    • @MazzyJC
      @MazzyJC 11 місяців тому

      @gomezaddams6470 I'm not a chef. But sometimes I will get mirin to use. I prefer soy sauce, sweet soy sauce and/or seame oil on rice. Some times I use a ready made Asian noodle dressing on it. 😁

    • @gomezaddams6470
      @gomezaddams6470 11 місяців тому

      @@MazzyJCMirin has a really specific application. It's meant to be cooked for the most part to cook the alcohol out with the exception of sushi rice. I prefer soy sauce on rice too but in addition if you're eating sushi. I never buy low salt. Because you can just add a touch of water as you use it not to the bottle. A few drops at a time it dilutes quickly. It's been a long time since I've cooked for personal reasons. Health reasons even worse than health reasons if you can imagine. It's affected my mind so much that it's almost like i've forgotten everything before this. I could throw things together so fast. And now it's like a sloth is trying to cook a meal. I was like most people you see. I didn't have to measure you just did it. It's super frustrating to lose that ability when it was natural. I ate very different from my family because they were not vegan. My mom would push the chair up to the stove when I was kindergarten or kindergarten or so. And let me cook because I knew what I was doing for myself. It wasn't always something spectacular. Of course, it was simple things. But I knew how to do an Asian type. Stir fry in nineteen sixty eight or sixty nine. Kind of remarkable i'm jealous of my old self.

    Now you need to try Ssamjang paste or dipping sauce. Typically it's used as a sauce with a lettuce wrap and other veggie fillings. It's a little milder and sweeter than Gochujang.

    I'm not even sure how people can eat tofu, it's just nasty. 🤢🤮

    • @NoEggCraig
      @NoEggCraig  11 місяців тому +1

      You're right, plain tofu is nasty 😂 But that's because it's a tasteless shapeshifting sponge and takes on the flavor of whatever you cook it in. Cooking it differently dramatically changes not only the taste, but the texture too!
