Try fried tofu puffs. Different texture but saves all the steps you had taken with soft tofu :)...sesame oil you should only drizzle at end. It doesnt have a high smoke point. Plus the sesame oil tastes amazing if not cooked.
Looks fabulous, Craig!! I also love Rainbow Plant Life (Nisha)!! She’s awesome and I love when she has her hilarious parents to taste tests! You did a great job with the preparation and presentation-yum wish I could try it too! Also, I’ve never cooked with those ingredients either (gochugan and and goobledeguk (sp))😅lol but I’m definitely going to look for them so I can try this! You rock! Great job on all accounts!👌♥️🥰✨🙌👏👍
haha yeah I watched one other video of her with her parents taste testing. They were very honest 😂 But definitely try those new ingredients, it wasn't as daunting as I thought it would be!
I make her red lentil curry like twice a week. Her roasted red pepper pasta salad is also amazing! Whenever I want to impress people with cooking I go to her blog 😊
Thank you so much for pronouncing the Korean spices correctly. I’m of Korean descent and I’ve seen content creators butcher the pronunciations. I enjoyed the reviews from your family so much I enjoy Rainbow Plant Life’s recipes as well. I was inspired today to buy some broccoli and plan to make this dish this week. 🫶🏼
Everyone really liked it, even though it was a bit of spicy for those no-spice people, like Leah. You did a great job making it colourful and delicious.
Sounds great ! I have used mirin since I was a kid. And i'm way older than you😊. The brand that everybody used was in about a 1/2. A gallon jug 45 ninety nine and that's now about thirty five dollars. I'm gonna try to make my own. I'm hungry I wish I was getting food delivered. Thanks for this it looks really good.🌱🥦✨️🐾
Yaaay I am so excited to see this video and get to see you and your family! Going through a stressful time and this video was a bright light for me! Love you, your family and friends! ❤
That's what I always used instead of vinegar sugar salt all that. I never understood people wanting the sushi rice to taste like vinegar. You're honestly the first person in many years of been a chef a vegan chef to say that.😊
@gomezaddams6470 I'm not a chef. But sometimes I will get mirin to use. I prefer soy sauce, sweet soy sauce and/or seame oil on rice. Some times I use a ready made Asian noodle dressing on it. 😁
@@MazzyJCMirin has a really specific application. It's meant to be cooked for the most part to cook the alcohol out with the exception of sushi rice. I prefer soy sauce on rice too but in addition if you're eating sushi. I never buy low salt. Because you can just add a touch of water as you use it not to the bottle. A few drops at a time it dilutes quickly. It's been a long time since I've cooked for personal reasons. Health reasons even worse than health reasons if you can imagine. It's affected my mind so much that it's almost like i've forgotten everything before this. I could throw things together so fast. And now it's like a sloth is trying to cook a meal. I was like most people you see. I didn't have to measure you just did it. It's super frustrating to lose that ability when it was natural. I ate very different from my family because they were not vegan. My mom would push the chair up to the stove when I was kindergarten or kindergarten or so. And let me cook because I knew what I was doing for myself. It wasn't always something spectacular. Of course, it was simple things. But I knew how to do an Asian type. Stir fry in nineteen sixty eight or sixty nine. Kind of remarkable i'm jealous of my old self.
This looks so good, and you used my favorite veggies. I'm a spicy eater, so I probably will react like Scott. 😁😋 I will check out the rainbow girl. 🌈 I love tasty food, oh and I told you about my live change in my way of eating. I can now tell you that since August 14 2023 till now, I've lost 44 pounds. 🎉
Now you need to try Ssamjang paste or dipping sauce. Typically it's used as a sauce with a lettuce wrap and other veggie fillings. It's a little milder and sweeter than Gochujang.
I was diagnosed with Lupus a couple of years ago and now they think i have an additional autoimmune disease attacking my muscles and Ive been wondering if going vegan would help. These videos will be very helpful.
Craig have you ever tried a chocolate hummus? My son and I live here in California and almost bought a container of it but we decided, well I decided to wait and ask you and your mom if you had ever tried it? Hope to hear from you!
@@NoEggCraig Aw, for this purpose I wish I lived nearby you (not for the weather!) and I'd make you something for delivery! I'm in North Carolina, and we had some of that super cold, not as intense as y'all though!
You're right, plain tofu is nasty 😂 But that's because it's a tasteless shapeshifting sponge and takes on the flavor of whatever you cook it in. Cooking it differently dramatically changes not only the taste, but the texture too!
Love when you surprise the candy factory with food. Your parents seem like top notch folks.
I think they like it too 😂
That looked so yummy, Craig, I loved everyone's expression when they tried it. Thanks for sharing.
That was interesting for me to see too haha

Good to know!
It looks delicious. Looks like you did a great job recreating her recipe.
Thank you!
Craig that looks so delicious, going to make for sure.
I hope you do!

I haven’t watched you in years. Good to see you doing well ❤
Looks delicious Craig, and Nisha is one of my favorite UA-cam chefs! I can’t do overly hot spices either.
Even if you omitted the gochujang past, this sauce would still be great!
Craig!! Great work 🎉
I make her red lentil curry like twice a week. Her roasted red pepper pasta salad is also amazing! Whenever I want to impress people with cooking I go to her blog 😊
I'll have to keep those recipes in mind!

Pronunciations can be hard 😂 But I do really hope you try it!
The food looks fabulous 👌 🥰🥰
Thanks!

Snowpeas mmmm
The dish looks very yum

Awww I'm glad this video could help!
Oh nice. That’s the same UA-camr who made the lemongrass tempeh I sent you. Love her recipes.
I'll have to check it out! I still have some lemongrass in the fridge I need to get rid of, so that's perfect!
Damn that looks good! I am going to try it out. I am so glad you all are fellow plant eaters!!💚
Scott 😂 I love these videos! I’m sure the people getting to eat love them more though 🌱
They definitely do 😂
Wow Craig that's an amazing response. It does look good. The mirin is a low alcohol rice wine that is sometimes used to season sushi rice.

FUN!
Looked great, I hope it wasn't completely cold when they tried it :)
Unfortunately it kinda was because a lot of them couldn't try it right away because they were busy working

That's incredible Sandra! Keep up the great work!
Hey, Craig! 👋😁
Hey Antonio!
Was it Good? 😋😉 🍝
Absolutely!

Udon noodles are delicious
I agree
I need a new supermarket run with Momdre, it's been foreeevver :)
Did Steve like the go-to noodles ?
Haha he sure did, whatever they were called 😂
Cara is correct on the pronunciation for gochujang!

It helped with my autoimmune disease!

Brownie hummus actually, I've had that before, it's pretty good!
These are my favorite videos surprising the candy shop with lunch, but wha did Steve think ?
He was a big fan of his go to noodles 😂
I want someone to deliver excellent vegan food to me at lunch time!!!! I love all those ingredients. Jealous.
Me too 😢

Get your own vegan cooking son - I'm keeping this one!
@@HerculesCandy LOL, don't blame you a bit, he's a keeper! I have two adult daughters, but I can't get them to go vegan, drat. You done good, Mom!
My homie Craig
Try giving the tofu a squeeze and then putting the tofu in the fridge for 2 weeks, comes out perfectly dry.
Wow, so cool, I thought I recognized you from the thumbnail on another "vegan" thing. The algorithm is crazy- but cool!
What a heartbreaking video.
You are starving brother.
Look in the mirror.
Our prayers are with you.
🙏
I'm not even sure how people can eat tofu, it's just nasty. 🤢🤮
