I think this test would be a lot easier if we were allowed calculators. I think most people would pass. But the long division and only paper no calculator math is nothing something everybody can do. I have to brush up quite a bit. Your videos and website are tremendous help since I'm in between jobs. Commenting on every video because these deserve to bumped up in the UA-cam algorithm!
Hello Grammar Hero! Yesterday I took the CAT-ASVAB & scored an 80 AFQT. Your videos were a tremendous help!! I was expecting to pass but not score that high. I took most of the tests on your website, I watched a lot of your videos, & took practice exams on other websites. I didn’t pay once for an ASVAB course! (I only payed for a monthly subscription on a math app called IXL). I already finished with MEPS & have to pick an AFSC with my Air National Guard recruiter. I know the ASVAB is a huge deal, & can be hard. I took the pencil & paper ASVAB during my senior year in 2016 & scored a 32…of course I felt like a failure. At age 23 I realized how important this exam is & decided to prepare for it. I learned elementary, middle, & high school math (it’s embarrassing to say the following but I couldn’t do elementary math as a senior). The hardest step for me was taking action, I eventually made learning a habit. I’m living proof that with the proper prepping people can go from a low score to a high score. That’s enough ranting! Thank you Grammar Hero you are an Incredible person!!
@@beanteam2217 Yes! This is part of solving questions for the arithmetic reasoning section & mathematics knowledge section. I struggled a lot in the beginning with learning long division by hand without a calculator; however, the more problems I solved & could see where I went wrong when I screwed up prompted me to keep on trucking & get it down pat. What I will say is that this video is a Godsend for those wanting to learn & will serve you well!...as long as you're willing to put in the work😎
@@beanteam2217 For the word section I don't have useful advice to be honest...you'd be better off asking Grammar Hero. I personally tried using context clues, elimination, & just straight up guessing. I did encounter words I had never seen or heard of before. I fared okay in that section...nothing stellar
Thanks for all the videos man. I take the ASVAB real soon and your videos have been very beneficial in understanding math problems. Keep on keeping on my guy you're doing a Great Job!
Currently scored a 17 on the asvab , I came across your videos & the way u explain stuff makes it so much easier I’m hoping studying everyday using this UA-cam channel will help me reach my high score , thank you so much !!

@@JasonT00 In your case, here's what I would do. Call your local community college or trade school and ask to enroll in a TESOL class. Here's what one of those programs looks like: jefferson.kctcs.edu/education-training/program-finder/tesol.aspx Most reputable TESOL programs cost under $100, and you can talk to your instructor about how you can improve your vocab. While you're in that program, learn every single word on vocabtest.com. In addition, work on learning these 1,000 SAT vocab words: img.sparknotes.com/content/testprep/pdf/sat.vocab.pdf You can also ask your recruiter about the Army's FLRI (Foreign Language Recruiting Initiative) program. Here is a good video about that: ua-cam.com/video/vAgJ1gdx6To/v-deo.html Whatever you do, please don't waste money on tutoring just for word knowledge. The reality is that it takes months to acquire new vocab words, and this is especially true for those for whom English is a second language. Your AR and MK scores are good to go.
