🟥**TOP RANK IN INDEX RELEASED BY NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATIONS**
1. According to The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), INDIA WAS THE WORLD'S FOURTH-LARGEST MILITARY SPENDER IN 2023, with an expenditure of $83.6 billion. The US, China, and Russia TOPPED the list, with the US being the largest military spender.
2. According to the QS WORLD UNIVERSITY RANKINGS BY SUBJECT 2024, JAWAHARLAL NEHRU UNIVERSITY (JNU) has ACHIEVED THE TOP POSITION AMONG INDIAN UNIVERSITIES in the field of Development Studies, marking a significant milestone in India's academic growth.
3. According to the HUMAN DEVELOPMENT REPORT 2023-2024, INDIA HAS RANKED 108 OUT OF 193 COUNTRIES on THE GENDER INEQUALITY INDEX (GII) 2022. 1. INDIA'S FIRST GREEN HYDROGEN PLANT in the stainless-steel sector was inaugurated by Union Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia. The plant, which uses rooftop and floating solar technology, AIMS TO REDUCE CARBON EMISSIONS by 2,700 metric tonnes per annum.
2. INDIAN RAILWAYS has renewed its MoU with CONFEDERATION OF INDIAN INDUSTRY (CII) to reduce energy and water consumption, LOWER GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS, and achieve "Net Zero Carbon Emission" by 2030.
3. ISRO Chairman S Somanath launched SFO TECHNOLOGIES' CARBON REDUCTION INITIATIVE, aiming for a 50% REDUCTION IN EMISSIONS BY 2035 and achieving zero emissions by 2040.
