Well that escalated quickly...
One of my first UA-cam subscriptions was This Week in UA-cam. When Leah D'emilio left TWIYT she eventually became a producer for Rocketboom. Lon Harris gave Rocketboom a shout out on TWIYT when Leah made a cameo in this video. It was the first Rocketboom video I ever watched and why I subscribed to the channel.
Thx for the comment, very cool to know. Leah was the most organized producer we ever had. We would not of been able to operate during that time without her.

I never watched the original show before it ended. I discovered the whole thing not too long ago. If this show ever gets rebooted or something, then some of the old people should get back, or have people that are just as good.
ho rocketboom, you made me LOVE molly... like literally see her beautiful face and get my pupils dilated and heart rate raising and butterflies in my stomach... but you can't live in the past, unless you reupload all the videos again, so please rocketboom let me live in the past :):

Will you guys ever begin producing new content again?
We would like to but its not sustainable on UA-cam. While we have over 100k subscribers, UA-cam has an algorithm that prevents over 99% of our subscribers from being notified (e.g. appearing in their feed). We dont do the kinds of marketing tricks that UA-cam expects so they limit the number of views we can get. If you look at the view counts from these recent videos, you can see that only a few people out of our 100k were notified. If we could get just 30% of the people who signed up to receive notices to actually receive those notices, we would start the show back up.
***** Wow that is weird, I had no idea UA-cam worked that way. You mean there are people I'm subscribed to whose content I may not be getting? Where can I find more information on this?
Pseudo Nym Yeah I have no idea how this works.. I have nearly 400 subscriptions and I am fairly sure I see just about every single video all of them post.
Jaden Oldfield Pseudo Nym i believe that most people on youtube don't go beyond the main page with only "recommended" videos and don't know where to find the "my subscriptions" feed.
i think the big problem is that due to ***** not having produced new content in a while and thus having a very low engagement rating for their huge subscriber base, the youtube algorithm won't recommend their videos to enough people to reach those 30% they'd need.
to get up to those numbers by producing new content, there would be a lot of cross-promotion and a lot of voluntary (unpaid) work for some people involved before the view counts go up and the ads start paying anything. from a business point of view i can understand why they don't do it.
Niko Obermayr I don't understand why UA-cam has shifted the focus away from "My Subscriptions" to "What To Watch" etc over the last few years. I always go to my subscription feed first, and then once I've exhausted that, I checked the recommend videos (which is mostly old crap related to stuff I searched for weeks or months ago for some reason).
On that note, is there any way to make UA-cam default to showing me my subscriptions rather than recommendations? I've gotten used to reflexively clicking over to it when I get to the front page but this thread just reminded me how annoyed I am with that setup.
I don't remember there being a sword fight in Alice in Wonderland, but I'm okay with it.
