- It's that time of year again. Out with the old, to make room for the new! With that in mind, I decided to tackle my... fishing tackle. Specifically my studio/fishing storage area. This room/corner of my basement houses a TON of fishing tackle, accessories and plastics. Most of which I do not use. One of the perks of working with fishing companies is that you get a LOT of stuff from them. The downside is, you just don't have time to fish it all. SO... we are going to pay it forward to YOU! Older then dirty fly fishing, since the 60s, so, yes to fly fishing.
Man, I would be happy with an empty large tackle box. Using a 5 gallon bucket right now, for my non fly fishing stuff, just started back about a year ago with spinning, bait caster, after about 5.5 decades.
I switched to fly fishing in the late 60s, early 70s.
I have no idea spinning, bait casters were so convoluted, nor pricey, required such equipment, you need a shed like bait shop.
I prefer fly fishing, set of feet, you are good to go.
Fly Fishing stuff is not as bulky, a fly fishing tackle box is something you wear on the water.
Ah, but gotten to old to wade slippery river, creek rocks, waist deep cold water, especially alone fishing.
So back to my childhood fishing.
Seems about right, cough, at my age.
I was aghast with everything you have, and bravo to giving it away! There's a time in every fishermen's life.... “If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. If you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.”

Digging the hat! Love the mitten but not the winters! Delivery mail in Colorado is much nicer in the winter! Clean up clean up everyone everywhere.

Love the Plano edge boxes, have made my organization much cleaner and better. Am looking at the new spinnerbait box for Christmas. Definitely should do some fly fishing next year

I am attempting to switch from magnum to the super magnum bass pro bag. I’m hoping to store all of my bass gear AND soft plastics, as well as a deep 3700 box or two of my musky lures in one tackle bag. I have a 10’ pond prowler and space is limited (not quite as limited as kayak) but pretty limited. The magnum is just a tiny bit too small. Each Christmas I seem to explore a new functioning tackle storage solution 🤷🏻♂️🤞

I enjoyed this video. It is a daunting but satisfying task to do. Now it's time for me to do the same thing! You gave me some good ideas.....definitely better then storing all my plastics in those re-usable grocery bags. lol.

Your Cabelas magnum bag is what I put all of my tackle in for my 10’ pond prowler (including one 3700 deep box for my musky lures) 😜 Really enjoy the organization/storage vids
Nice that's something I need to do myself but I've been to lazy lately 😂. I won a box last December, last thing I've won too lol but anyway I did pay it forward recently with some things from that to a guy who's been seeing some hard times, I wasn't going to use them so glad he can and will. Can't wait for the live and maybe I get lucky again lol

Fly fishing for river smallies from the kayak
Threw a spidy through the summer, had no takers. I believe in worms and have building up my bait bag since losing my favorite worm bag. Its finessville in my local waters though, I've had some monsters on lately. Great scott what a schmivaway ha Merry Holidays yall

I’m leaning towards using the Plano technique specific boxes, like terminal and 🤞 maybe for Xmas the spinner box, and the. buzbe boxes for everything else. Making up my go to buzbe box before each trip is a blast

Hey! I in an attempt to organize my fishing room, bought one of those wheeled craft carts just like you have! Obviously it’s a small step in a much larger project but neat none the less. I’m a sucker for organization

@@aaanglers I bought that cart solely for the attachment that holds spools of ribbon. You can hold several spools of line so when spooling reels the spool will spin freely and stay in place while you wind

I really like the casual nature of this video. I’m curious what the benefits are of hanging some baits on a pegboard? Is it a practical reason or mainly for a cool video background? I see a lot of pictures of fisherman doing this. How do you decide what to hang on a pegboard versus putting in a box?

So if I go fly fishing, and I'm not rude... How does that make it for Yippies? Wouldn't it make sense that, someone in my position doing it the right way, is helping others see the right way to do it? Especially if I am learning from pros? Wouldn't that be a good use of content?
