some people actually have these things called memories. I can replay life events that impacted me, most truly intelligent people who are experienced in life can.

Memories are notoriously incorrect and imprecise. Discuss these same life events that impact you with some friends (or even your wife or family), and you will see you have quite different memories. As an anecdotal example, check "Fry and Laurie reunited" where 2 very intelligent people appear to have a very different recollection for instance of how they met.
And in the case of Marco Polo we are talking about second-hand memories, told to a second person in jail, reported in 120 different manuscripts, in an age where dragons were routinely reported (including by Marco Polo)?
Any report from that era is an interesting mix of fact, fiction and politics (compare also Tuchman's "A distant mirror") and we always need to take these stories with a grain of salt. History is not an exact science, but an adventure in itself.
Actually, this kind of detailed examining of fact and fiction as in this presentation is exactly what I was looking for, and I enjoyed it a lot :)

Rambling poorly organised lecture though there's some interesting snippets of information scattered throughout if you have the patience to sit through it. Sadly, most documentaries/ lectures on Marco Polo are even worse than this. Anyone know a good one on this subject?

The videos called "The Travels of Marco Polo,"- (4 parts), by 'Voices of the Past' is very good. There's a bit more about Marco's father and uncle that I care for, but it's done well.

I’ve read two versions of the Book Marco Polo transcribed will in Jail.
A new one came out a few years ago.
    He never went there.
    Dog headed men 😀
    No mention of the wall😀
All mid-evil conjecture trying to get out of jail.
    Total fiction
