Those fish pants are so fun! Love those. I too would have picked those up. And the sweater turned out great too. Nice work.
Love your fish pants and your black sweater.
Your channel is pure gold! Thank you. I've learned so much!
Making pants bigger? I'm in! hahaha
Haha, yup, me too! A few too many fresh loaves of bread over quarantine!
Clever way to evenly space 5 buttons! I am glad you said to cut the black Lycra strip LENGTHWISE so the stretch goes around the body!
What a fast way to determine the button placement! I love your videos you have a great teaching style that 's easy to understand.
Luv,luv, luv how your fish pants turned out; and the black top you resized, to go with the pants, looks beautiful. I really like how you don't let adjustments, throw you. I'm finding out, that you have to be brave, when you sew. You do it so well. Thx.
You have such Great, Simple, Easy to Do Methods. You’ve got me Excited to do this!
Mahalo for taking us on Your Teaching Journeys 🌺
Thanks so much, Mama San! That is really nice to hear!
Loved this! You speak to the small nuances that make a huge difference in a professional looking garment...and it is so fun learning from you. 😃
Well, I just can't think of a better comment! Thanks so much, Susan!
You are a treasure ! Love your creative alterations !
This is so helpful! I'm going to start by 'thrifting' on my own closet to see what I can alter.
I'm so glad you discovered my channel! Thanks for all your great comments!
Doing the same!
Lovely sweater--I see why you like the sleeves. Nice job on the alterations.
Thank you! 😊
Okay, Now I need to find some Fish pants!! Love your thrift flips, looking forward to more videos.
Had my doubts about the fish pants but they turned out so cute.
Haha, me too! They're super fun to wear now.
Those silk fish pants could make a nice silk scarf too.
Though you did improve those pants. The fish weren't lined up matching on the sides, but with the incert it doesn't matter. I agree that buttons are better than a single button. If you'd left the sweater length though that would nicely cover a bulgy belly, which I struggle with, so that is why I thought of that.
You are amazing, teacher. Love your work.
Thank you so much, Elizabeth! That's so nice to hear!
I have an idea for your next video in the THRIFT FLIP series: common repairs! Super basic stuff like re-attaching buttons, patching a hole, etc.
Thanks for the idea and for checking out my channel. I actually do have one on sewing on buttons! ua-cam.com/video/hmXkNaKKQgw/v-deo.html
Would love hints on patching holes
The fish pants were a bold choice and you rocked it. The black to is georeous!! I love how you updated it. Food for thought. 😊
Hah! So awesome. As you may or not know...I am a major thrifter and I just loved your vid!!!
Great to hear from you! I had a blast when we thrifted together in your neck of the woods!
@@CatherineSews lol no life like it.....where else are you going to get silk fish pants??. That is the part I love always something different and cool and no on else has!!!!
FISHESSSSSSS 😍😍😍
I’m back to work and back to lunch time sewing. 😮the person who designed that top didn’t even know how cute it could be! I love it. So adorable with the buttons. I needed some ribbing because you have inspired me…at my local Walmart …no ribbing. But I did pick up three tank tops out of a stretchy ribbing like material in black, grey and tan. Great price and endless possibilities. This fish pants are very interesting. I love today up-cycle.
Thanks, Christine! I just got back from a holiday in Mexico and I wore my fish pants a LOT. Now that I'm back in chilly BC I'll pull that black top out of the closet!
I love this! Well done!
That top is stunning. Congratulations on a job well done!
Thank you so much!
The pants look amazing now! Such an improvement from the original. The tuxedo stripe adds sophistication 😊
I love your “Fish” pants. Your blouse is beautiful. Your wardrobe must be so nice to wear. And at an affordable price! Love your videos.
Thank you! You taught me something! L The way you placed the buttons! Talk about a time saver! I don't know why I didn't think of it! duh! Thank you!
Clever and very cute. I never see anything thst nice when I thrift. The quality is rarely there. Mostly I look for top quality 100% wool to process into felted wool for embroidery use and 100% cotten plaids to use in quilting. Thanks for great recycling hints.
Nice fish pants and black sweater.
The sheaves look like FISH NET! Great combo!!!
Fantastic video with great instructions. This is going to help so many people. Brilliant 💐
OMG thank you for showing me the easy way to do button holes
Happy to help! They're not really that bad, right? Thanks for watching and commenting.
❤❤❤❤❤ I love your fun alterations. You have given me great ideas ‼️
Loved this video! I haven’t tried letting out pants, and I’m always nervous about cutting into sweaters. This video gives me courage.🤗 thank you! ❤️
Wow, those are great clothes makeovers! I am inspired to get my sewing room organized & get my favourite clothes made over! Thanks for sharing!
Yes! It's such a joy to have an organized sewing room that is ready for you whenever inspiration strikes!
I love those pants.
omg, I love the outfit so much! So cute! Thank you for the tutorial and ideas!
Incredible. Really love what you did with the sweater.
You are awesome! Thank you for the idea of the side strip to widen the pants! Im going to use this idea on a skirt thats a bit too tight on me. Love seeing you vedeos! 🤗
I have to tell you, I really loved this video. I’m ready to go out to my local thrift shop and find pants, and sweaters, to upgrade. Thank you. When I unpick a seam, I will take my seam ripper and break stitches about 1 inch apart on one side. Then I’ll flip the item over and grab a thread, and pull it up. This practically becomes like a domino effect with the rest of the stitches coming undone with that one pull. I have ruined too many items by using a seam ripper to break the stitches.
Another great video! I HAD TO subscribe to your channel to see what's next!
Me too! Love this channel - love thrifting! Thank you!
Thanks for sharing how to sized pants and top. ❤
Fabulous
Awesome tutorial - thanks for sharing.😜
Your students would love to see you in Fish Pants!!
Great ideas.
Great hints
Wow, this was great, thank you !
Really nice job as always! Not sure the conservative sweater with voluminous sleeves goes with your fish pants though. I liked the black tshirt you had on WAY better with the pants. The sweater is really nice, but maybe save it for a different pairing?
You are amazing ❤
Love your videos. Very inspiring.
Hi, can you tell me the sewing machine you used and the serger you used?
❤
Great video! Easy to follow! Did you ever wear the fish pants??
Haha, I definitely will wear them, but I think I have to wait until spring. I feel like crazy pants are easier to wear in warmer weather, lol. 😜
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I was taught to put buttonholes horizontal (I.e., parallel to the hem) so the buttons stay buttoned across the chest, but I don’t see anyone else doing that.
The general idea with buttonholes is that they go horizontal unless they're going onto a button placket, like on a dress shirt.
I love your easy to follow tutorials but I have the opposite problem! I have 2 pairs of brand new fleecy pants that are way too big on me after losing weight. Can you please help me out?
What can you do to skinny jeans that are too flipping tight at the calves and ankles
dye them...
