You mean to be policy makers or so they could with a different unrelated degree while getting hired on a police force to be steaing all the checks and cash they can get their hands on whenever they are working in a highrise building mail room allegedly there to be only doing their welfare checks there too in a building where young people whom they believe are respectable allegedly in contrast are often doing things which set the fire alarms off in the middle of the night around once a week. A lot of us tenants in a highrise building being run by Boardwalk here in Canada complained to the people behind the rental offices often about that taking place but it just kept on for the longest time falling on deaf ears until management and means to do proper renovations had improved. For example when replacing 3 in a row elevator cars along with all of the control panel wiring for them on every floor too. Figured out that whenever the ellevator control panel system was malfunctioning until then that walking one floor down there then the elevator car panel would work. Got one of my wrists and part of the one forearm caught inbetween shut elevator doors once to while the elevator car was starting to go up. While onlookers were screaming I managed somehow to use my long fingers to manually depress the old fashioned mechanism to reopen the door soon enough to escape. I It was then I remembered seeing an odd looking device near one corner of one of the elevator doors. When I checked to get a second look at it it was still there. Looked to have been maybe the work of a saboteur however I knew full well that if I complained about that I would then be called Schizophrenic while the thing was being taken down. My arm hurt for a whole month after but I had no tell tale bruising on it. Put up with that and near the end of over 10 years in that building a really leaky ceiling too while my rent was being subisdized by Capital Region Housing. Capital Region Housing prior to that which by the way some clueless dame from that office in town once offered me the advice to while being a single mom get pregnant again to maintain my status in the projects with more than one bedroom for me and my 2 children who were both over the age of 8 by then at the time. I finally escaped from Captial Region housing too only 5 years ago with a lot of help from my brothers and mother and friends helping me through "The Troubles" along with ("Iintegration Policies") in North America too. Today it is Truth and Reconciliation day here in Canada.
The effect is the same ! One law for criminal home invasion. Same law for criminal home invasion with badges. Not complicated considering end result to the victims
How is it this government can commit ANY criminal act against its own citizens and not be held to any serious account ? Someone please explain to me the twisted and insane 'thought' process that allows this to happen.
Definitely not free . And certainly not cheap . If you think drunken frat boys can max a credit card , you have t seen anything . But people keep simping .
The standards to obtain a no knock warrant should be extremely strict. They should be for extremely rare circumstances. This sort of thing should not be happening to people on a regular basis but I keep hearing about it. Police need to be held accountable.
Imagine if this family was poor and had no home insurance. Imagine the homeowner actualy retrieved his gun and was seen with it prior to developing an understanding of what was actually happening. Imagine the grenades thrown in landed near a infant or young child. All of which has happened during these criminal invasions
This is inexcusable and terroristic behavior. The government and law enforcement can do whatever it wants and not suffer the consequences for its actions. If citizens are not exempt then neither is people in authority and power. You cant make a error and failure and chop it up to you can do whatever you want without punishment. Unacceptable
They weren't in the wrong house, there was no warrant. "Oops, wrong house" happens everyday all over the country. They're intentionally doing this to add to the chaos
Pay these people. If the property damage was covered, so should the emotional damage. These people will likely never see the police the same as they did before their house was broken into. Their constitutional rights were violated, for no reason.
I'm thinking one of the reasons the wheels of justice move so slowly is in the hope the plaintiffs will throw down the towel and give up on the lawsuit. But it's really hard, close to impossible to "move on" without having justice served.
They are supposed to. You are supposed to particularly describe the place you intend to raid, including the address and physical description that would allow someone who has never been there before to recognize the home. In addition, if you were looking for particular suspects, you are supposed to describe them and have Recent pictures of them so they can be easily recognized and sorted out from uninvolved people. Clearly, the FBI is incompetent and does not have basic procedures in place to prevent this
Every time a wrong house raid happens, someone in law enforcement should be blacklisted from policing, and have their retirement funds stripped to pay for all the resulting lawsuits from their fuckup.
I operate a podcast that discusses government wrongdoings and I expect the FBI at my door one day to tell me to knock it off or delete the channel. They do things wrong and we get punished - that sounds like a sociopathic bully.
Inexcusable and should be all fired, but no they are all allowed to continue on with no consequence and the victims no recourse this is out of hand and needs to be curbed now. The justice system made this mess and it is time to clean house and quit sweeping it under the rug!
Seriously? How hard is it for law enforcement, let alone FEDERAL ones, to get home addresses right? How HARD is it!? I’d like to know because this has become a pandemic in our country! A pizza delivery guy got that right nearly all the time, but law enforcements don’t? Are you kidding me, FBI? Are you kidding me?
The raid commander at least attempted to do the right thing by giving this gentleman a card... Shameless at a court would throw that out as if they could care less what kind of damage they've done to this family's peace...
This does not inspire confidence in the FBI. WTF is wrong when an entire group of GROWN and TRAINED men can't get an address correct. Maybe they should ask the pizza delivery guy...
why should insurance have to pay for the damage, that may in some cases drive up the family's premiums. The government should pay every penny of the damages.
Worst of all, even under conditions prevailing today, it could be reduced to a small fraction of what it now is. Police Departments, Federal, State and Local have resisted this, as well the FOP's and other "non union" organizations police belong to, to negotiate wages, conditions, retirement, etc., and law and order politicians also are steadfast in holding open doors that not only allow but make certain that many such occurrences will continue. One simple first move would be for serving officers be required to appear before the judge who signed the warrant to tell that judge the results of the service in full. Lots more address checking and info confirmation might well occur if just that one simple step were taken- but it isn't happening is it? To the IJ, no amount of kudos is sufficient to express the true value of what your organization does to defend or Constitution, our social contract, from abuse and misuse.
Absolutely no government agency, organization, or employee should have immunity to the law of any kind. They should be held to a higher standard. Not a lower one. If they raid the wrong house then they should be arrested and prosecuted for crimes just the same as if they were regular citizens who raided a house. Especially if it’s due to negligence on their behalf and could have been easily prevented.
Sue under takings clause. Mental health was taken by gross negligence. Get them on the stand one by one, ask if they know how to read and use a GPS. Throw up a billboard with a QR code including this video.
This is an ongoing problem with all law-enforcement agencies . Through my entire career, I have witnesses time and time again, and most often the victims of these mistakes are just that victims and are sometimes prosecuted and persecuted by law-enforcement. The game is turned the victims of your mistake into criminals and then everything for law enforcement is OK .
They should all be charged with home invasion, false imprisonment, assault, battery, and terrorism. Every officer involved should review and verify a warrant before something like this as they should be accountable for a “mistake”.
I just remember the grandmother that was killed in Georgia like 10-15 years ago when they raided the wrong house in the middle of the night with a no knock warrant and she shot like 3 cops with her shotgun before they shot and killed her because she had no idea what was going on. As I recall she was shot dead in her own bed because they screwed up and went to the wrong address. These no knock no announce raids are just far to dangerous really to both sides. 99.9% of the time there is no need to rush these places. We have plenty of law enforcement to surround places make the situation clear and to wait people out. Some would say that is too dangerous for law enforcement and I say that is crazy. Most these police forces have armored vehicles and weapons of war at their disposal anymore they should be able to stand against anything they would encounter on a raid, and only a group crazy with a death wish would go firefight against being surrounded by basically the military these days.

The FBI, DOJ and ATF need to be dialed back a few notches! I hope these people get justice from this FELONY that was committed against them.
This is one of my bigger fears. As gun owner, it is entirely possible that I would draw and fire in self-defense.
Thank you for your presentation Patrick. Wrongful tactics such as these need to be punished. Cops need more schooling. They need to know how to read numbers and double-check them. Duh.
Hey sorry we accidently raided your house, here's a card. Have a nice day.
The Institute for Justice are superheroes. This is where my charitable donations will go moving forward.
It makes you wonder if this was the same road that Nazi Germany started down. I cannot imagine the trauma this family went through, they might never feel safe in their own home again. Raiding the "wrong" house should NEVER be acceptable, people need to be fired, and FEWER no knock warrants.
..sort of... but because this is bolshevik America...
Remember the Holodomor.
Remember the Gulags...
Lazy LEOs get people hurt.
I thank God nooo!! tragedy took place and the officer that came back to apologize that was a good deed. Though it doesn't excuse the trauma this family was left with. Much love to your family ❤❤
Thank you IJ for giving these innocent victims of government brutality a voice.
We will Rue the day we let these tyrants with guns and badges rule Society
If they do a no knock, no announce raid, they can't be surprised or charge anyone who shoots at them for thinking it was a home invader.
YES, but they will shoot or charge anyone who reaches for a gun.
This proves why it's hard to "back the blue."
The Justice System needs a overhaul. This shouldn't be allowed to happen to innocent people. The FBI should be ashamed of themselves for this.
So WAKE UP EVERYBODY... They Are Intentionally Getting The WRONG HOUSES On Purpose ALL OVER THE US!!! To Terrorize THE PUBLIC !!! It Was NOT A MISTAKE!!!
NOTHING THEY THE FBI, SWAT GANGS... DO IS A MISTAKE!!! IT IS ALL ON PURPOSE!!! WAKE UP!!!
FBI, Police etc need to hire drivers who work for Dominos as they never get the wrong house.
If only they hired door dashers or ex postmen.
Or a pothead pizza boy.
Federal Bureau of Intimidation
End all qualified immunity for the government now they should not be better than us. We, the citizens deserve better.
💯
Please sign the petition at "Americans Against Qualified Immunity". It's quick and it's free. 4 states have abolished it. Let's get the other 46.

What they promised: “The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.”
What we got: “The Land of the Fee and the Home of the Slave.”
Definitely not free . And certainly not cheap . If you think drunken frat boys can max a credit card , you have t seen anything .
But people keep simping .
Every time they raid the wrong house, the police chief involved should be put on immediate unpaid leave pending investigation.
FBI ~ "Federal Bureau of Idiots!" - (Bill Williamson ~ Rampage Series)
Great work IJ!
excused domestic terrorism..taxpayer funded incompetence.
The standards to obtain a no knock warrant should be extremely strict. They should be for extremely rare circumstances.
This sort of thing should not be happening to people on a regular basis but I keep hearing about it. Police need to be held accountable.
They always pick the craziest times to do these raids. I'm now convinced these swat people are psychopaths looking to kill someone.
Nailed it.
Our lovely government! I hope these people SUE the crap outta them.
This is absolutely horrible! SO WRONG!
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing this heartbreaking story
Thank you for picking up this fight to make it right
Imagine if this family was poor and had no home insurance.
Can't even find the right house.
And these clowns have guns.
Cops are that smart. We love them regardless
Thanks for all your hard work 😊
They weren't in the wrong house, there was no warrant. "Oops, wrong house" happens everyday all over the country. They're intentionally doing this to add to the chaos
If this happened to me I would never get over it. Any sense of security and safety would be gone forever.
Pay these people.
If the property damage was covered, so should the emotional damage.
These people will likely never see the police the same as they did before their house was broken into.
Their constitutional rights were violated, for no reason.
There should be laws that specifically list steps to remedy such mistakes. Personal and public apologies, counseling, validation, money, repairs, etc.
I'm thinking one of the reasons the wheels of justice move so slowly is in the hope the plaintiffs will throw down the towel and give up on the lawsuit. But it's really hard, close to impossible to "move on" without having justice served.
It really speaks for their investigative skills when they send a tactical team to the wrong address.
Attention to detail is not their strong suit.
Doesn’t law-enforcement do any surveillance before they write a house at least enough to know which house is correct good grief
I’ve always asked the same question but never got an answer
A pizza delivery does a better job than so called professional???
Cops should confirm addresses and names with the local pizza driver.
Come on, Citizens! We cannot expect the ‘top cops’ in America to be able to read numbers or street names….thats clearly too much to ask of any LEO.
This is too much. My heart is breaking this happened to this family. The psychological damage done. There must be accountability
I like you Justice guys: you go after the less flashy but MUCH more common institutional problems of law and enforcement.
All applicants for positions with the FBI MUST be able to read an address. At least, from now on.
Hard lesson learned. If they didn't believe "don't trust the government " before, they KNOW it now.
We need to take a very close look at the justice system.
And then our politicians.
Sure they purposely raided the wrong house. These are dark times. Trust
Neither of those houses look like they needed an fbi raid of that level.
Couldn’t even image. They absolutely would never be the same.
If people don’t give them what’s they’re dishing out, nothing will change.
What argument could the court have used to absolve the agents of wrongdoing? Maybe they argued the agents couldn't read?
This is not okay! How inept does a government agency have to be to go to the incorrect house???!!! Traumatic!!!
Our government has become more and more out of control
why should insurance have to pay for the damage, that may in some cases drive up the family's premiums. The government should pay every penny of the damages.
The Incompetence is ridiculous
Amen. What a terrible story.
Dirty cops being dirty cops.
Thank you. Nicely stated. 👍
Go get'em IJ!!!
No due diligence should = No qualified immunity
Sue under takings clause. Mental health was taken by gross negligence. Get them on the stand one by one, ask if they know how to read and use a GPS. Throw up a billboard with a QR code including this video.
"Justice Matters"?
I expect FBI to be more professional than local police. It only takes a few clicks and a couple hours to find who lives in the house
End Qualified Immunity NOW,
They should all be charged with home invasion, false imprisonment, assault, battery, and terrorism.
