  • I purchased this self contained 2 person hot tub from hottuboutpost.com and set it up in my bedroom.
    I will take you through setup, operation, how to fix a known bug, and Q&A.
    I was very happy with my purchase and was not offered anything (they don't even know I am posting this).
    I can highly recommend this tub, setting it up indoors, and working with the people at hottuboutpost.com

    Excellent video, very informative,
    I just purchased an older Nordic Bella 2 person spa,
    I had some questions about operations and the chemical treatments which were answered in the video, so thanks
    Ps, This unit has the option of converting to 220v which I’ve done,
    The initial start/heat up increase showed to be about 10 degrees/hr (55 to 95 in 4 hrs), I think the 220v conversion is a definite upgrade if you have that power available to you.

    Nice tub I just purchased a 3-person with one lounger 2-situp & a cool seat. What type of filter does this one use? It appears you just dropped a few chlorine mini pucks into your strain basket yes?

    Thank you for posting this. I just bought this hot tub, I filled it and added the metal out as instructed, then chlorine and start up amount of clarifier
    Now it’s cloudy. I went to Leslie’s, had water tested and did what they said - still cloudy. What is your recommendation on adding chemicals and what is your routine?

    • @nickmatteucci1074
      @nickmatteucci1074 4 роки тому +1

      Hmm. Is it clear when you fill it with no chemicals? I honestly keep it simple. While filling I add a little less than 1/4 cup of the Bromine Boost and one tablet of Bromine in the chemical tray. I add a little of the PH up chemical for our water (yours might not need it or even PH reducer). That is it. Since the heater will run for 12-13 hours (ours is 110v but indoors) I don't need to run the jets to mix it up. I found over time that a lot of the other things they sell you make it cloudy or foam. Also I typically change the water once per month. There is so little water it becomes chemically saturated after 1 month of frequent use and then starts to have a strong chemical smell IMO. Hope this helps.

    • @britchic2011
      @britchic2011 4 роки тому

      Nick Matteucci thank you for replying - yes it’s clear before chemicals - I’m using chlorine mainly because we have a chlorine pool - I was just reading bromine is better at higher temps - not sure if it’s safe to get out of a chlorine pool and into a bromine hot tub. So you don’t add metal out? Says to do that to protect equipment and preventing stains. I’m thinking I’ll have to empty and refill

    I have the Capri Version of this - only has 8 jets with the motor/heater combo. Thinking about upgrading but - Does this have the spray foam insulation underneath? Mine does not and I really like that it doesn’t - I just insulated it myself and works great - and I don’t have to worry about tearing all that foam out in case of a leak. I LOVE mine - it’s a 2014 model and still going strong with no problems at all. Also GREAT for small space, and hardly any extra cost for electricity - even in winter. How much more in electric costs does this cost you - probably not as much if you have it in your bedroom. Thanks!

    • @antd2733
      @antd2733 2 роки тому

      How did you insulate yours

    • @russelwashburn
      @russelwashburn Рік тому

      The isulation on these spas is built into the cabinet. Some companies have what is called foam fill. Basically they fill the whole cabinet full of spray foam. QCA Spas does not do full foam. With full foam if you have a leak it is very hard to find the leak cause the water may not show up where the leak is and you may spend hours digging out the foam to find the leak.
      Also the 8 jet version is no longer offered. The spas that do not have heaters actually heat the water through the friction of the water through the pump and the plumbing. Even at 0 degrees F these frictional heat spas will heat up about 1 dergree per hour.

      @@russelwashburnThat is the old days, there is a ink now that is placed into the water which eventually will easily show you where any leak is coming from nowadays.

    Great video very helpful Nick my Hot Tub is the same as your I purchased 2nd hand and the bottom filter piece/ coupler is missing below the filter is a suction hole. Is the bottom filter piece a hard plastic piece or is it a rubber piece . Does it go in the hole or over the bottom suction hole. Im trying to make one myself thanks for any info or if any viewer can help :)

    • @nickmatteucci1074
      @nickmatteucci1074 3 роки тому

      Hi Kieth - it is a hard plastic piece that fits inside the filter and connects it to the suction intake that goes to all the jets. I would call Hot Tub Depot Outpost www.hottuboutpost.com/ as they have parts and are very friendly/helpful. I am not affiliated with them. Just happy with the sales and service.

      Sorry for late reply. It has oxygenation which is fancy way of saying air bubbles in system but I think it helps keep lines clean and NOT to be used to keep the tub water clean. You still need chemicals for that.

      We don't notice it. It comes on at various times to heat but it doesn't wake us. I do not think it is loud. As for maintenance, I have it down to 5 mins ever 3-4 days and then 1 hour a month to change and replace the water. YMMV.

      We have the cover on all but for the 10 mins/day we are in there (on average). Many times only one of us are in there and you just fold over the cover in 1/2 so you don't have to wrestle off the full cover. We also have a ceiling fan in the room as well. With the cover on we don't notice any humidity at all.

    The filter is not a manufacturing defect, the issue is that you do not have the plate in the filter . That plate does 2 functions. The filter is designed for that plate to be in there, it will help keep the filter from floating up and the other feature of the plate is you can control how much water flows through the filter and how much goes through the suction. The chemical feeder is actually the skimmer basket that is made to catch bugs and any other large items floating in the water. If you do not have all the parts installed correctly you will have isses. With 13 years in the spa business and vast knowledge of this spa, your review is missing on several issues.

      Way to clean up the video with this comment. What is your honest opinion on this particular spa? I do notice that a Balboa spa pack is used here which is a good"quality"sign.

    • @russelwashburn
      @russelwashburn 3 місяці тому +1

      @@JujuPig-vz5mq the spa is a good spa for someone who wants a spa but does not have the room, money or space for a bigger 220 volt spa. It is only around 130 gallons of water 💦 Being 110volts there is only so much you can expect from this spa. It will not heat while you are using it, the limited power means you can run the pump on high or the heater which is only 1 kw but not at the same time.
      The shell and equipment is the same material as any larger more expensive spa.
      Over all it is a good spa for what they cost.
      From my original post and the video if you do not put all the parts to the filter in the spa you might as well not have the filter in at all because you will not be filtering.
